Parents argue for juvenile justice in school shooting:

The parents of Thomas White, the accused gunman at the Memorial Middle School shooting, have called for leniency in the treatment of their son.

Norma and Greg White also blame themselves, saying they should have listened to their son when he repeatedly said how much he disliked school and asked to be home-schooled.

Instead, Thomas White, 14, is facing being tried as an adult on multiple felonies and his father is serving an 18-month sentence for illegal possession of firearms in the family’s home.

“He’s a good kid, and we let him down,” Greg White told the newspaper.

Ya think? But you didn’t let him down by not homeschooling him. You let him down by having unsecured firearms in the house.

The big deal is that Thomas white is charged as an adult for bringing an assault rifle to school, discharging a round into the ceiling, and pointing the gun at the principal and pulling the trigger. Luckily, the gun jammed.

“He needs punishment,” Greg White said. “We believe in the rule of the law.”

Says the convicted ex-felon in illegal possession of a firearm.

The Whites said they’ve looked at past cases involving school shootings and can’t find another example of a juvenile certified to be tried as an adult when it didn’t involve any deaths or injuries.

They either don’t read this site or didn’t look too hard. In Michigan, Andrew Osantowski was 16 at the time of his arrest and was tried and sentenced as an adult, and he didn’t even bring the guns to school.

Sorry, but there’s no compassion here. He made a conscious choice to take a gun to school with the intent to kill. Only by the grace of God was no one hurt or killed.

    Once again why must I ask how do you know what his intent was. The fact of the matter is the only time we know he fired his guns was at the ceiling. Not even the principal or the DA I believe have ever even tried arguing otherwise. Let me sum that up for you, no one knows that he tried pulling the trigger at someone. And while I am not an expert on guns I imagine if he had tried you would know. So therefore you know he tried to threaten others but not kill or hurt them. As always its been a pleasure.

    The word “intent” doesn’t show up in the Missouri Revised Statutes concerning weapon violations.

    It doesn’t. Trench just implied that word and has used that word many times and I thought as it is such a loaded word I should ask where he came to using such a word.

    Yeah, because I just made that part up about him pointing the gun at the principal and pulling the trigger after it jammed. That was sarcasm buy the way.

    Under oath the principal said he never saw Thomas pull the trigger for sure (immedately after, in front of news crews he said he did, but I think that hardly matters as much as what he said under oath) and the super intendant who was also there swears he didn’t. So yeah, you are making stuff up.

    P.S. here is exactly what he said, “The only thing he (White) said the whole time was, ‘Don’t make me do it,’” Gilbreth testified. “He was making a motion with the gun toward me. I thought he was trying to discharge the weapon but I couldn’t be sure.”

    Who really cares. The little mutant brought a gun to school….and fired it. And yet another case of oblivious parents who only give a shit after the fact. Too late mom and dad…the time to be paying attention was probably a few years ago.

    Certification as a youth or adult is not based on the guilt or innocence. Pretty much it goes entirely to state of mind in Missouri. Do you honestly feel that a delayed 13 year old can think like an adult? If so by all means prosecute them as such as soon as they have all other rights of adults.

    And Zappa working at a special needs camp gives you a whole new basis on the word mutant. For example this week we have someone who seems to fit the MacDonald Triad perfectly, who I am trying to get to open up. Last week we had a camper threaten others with a 22 (venting at the time but still you would consider him a mutant even if he was just an extremely immature 13 year old.) And the list goes on and on. Meet some mutants before you start spreading that word around so much.

    you perfectly define a mutant and decide that the title doesn’t fit because it doesn’t suit your argument.

    in this day and age, if a kid threatens another with a 22 it is a real threat. The lower the “maturity” level of his brain only increases the threat, it does not make him less of a mutant.

    And having a child gives you a “whole new basis on the word mutant”…whatever the hell that means. To think that some little mutant could decide on a whim to take her life because he’s pissed off at the world and that there are people like you who apologize (and you don’t even really apologize for them…you think they have done nothing wrong…you just make excuses and rationalize their behavior)and then cry when they get what they wanted (which is attention) and actually have to pay a price for their behavior (because we all know that it is WAY more important to protect the instigatoring, disatisfied, wallowing in self-pity mutants than the innocent) sickens me.

    Mutant camp is a good place for you to be -)

    And we treated it like it was a real threat. But we realized that its natural for a depressed suicidal boy to be venting when he just was told to kill himself about 20 times in the past hour. The funny thing about this kid was you think hes a mutant but he was a 13 year old boy who brought his teddy here and called one of the counselors Wobby and me Wryan. That sound like your defination of mutant?

    I like being here at mutant camp, thank you very much for asking, its nice to be able to save a child’s life before he/she does something terrible.

    Most of my campers so far don’t fit in the mutant persona really though. My 2 primaries week one was a kid with PDD-NOS (not that you know what that means without looking it up on yahoo) who made a good clown but had no real problems and a kid with asperger’s who said sir and maam more then the average person 3 times his age and only really had 3 or so outbursts, all verbal, where he just got really excited. My primary last week could be a bit of a bully but was almost all the time nice and polite. Doesn’t sound like mutants to me, just kids wanting to meet others like them.

    P.S. I care about every single kid here at camp. That means that whoever he was threatening was a kid I care about. Heck as I didn’t even hear the threat and he was a bit mad at me at the time it could have been directed at myself.

    He was fuming to himself but I don’t recall where I said otherwise. The defination of threat is “An expression of an intention to inflict pain, injury, evil, or punishment.” That can be done to the persons face or to yourself.

    And I already think of you as a pedophile because you seem to enjoy the thought of Thomas White being in adult jail where he could/probably would get raped. Maybe you don’t do the act yourself but you enjoy thinking about putting him in the situation. That is why I consider you a sociopath. Because you don’t care about such simple things.

    Just for your information he was mad at me because he saw me as turning a blind eye to the bullying he was enduring (which I was doing a bit, mostly from orders from superiors.) I would never ever hurt a kid, no matter how much you seem to like that concept.

    Let me rephrase, I didn’t so much as turn a blind eye to the bullying he was enduring as I didn’t punish when A) it couldn’t be proved (he was always louder then the other campers so therefore he got punished more) and B) trying to make him calm down when he was being picked on because if he didn’t it kept escalating (and by the time I was in the picture it was impossible to tell who started it leading back to problem A, with the knowledge that there was a good chance he started it this time).

    I didn’t ignore the abuse when I saw it though some of my co-workers either seemed to have a hard time seeing it (the bullies were discreet) or knew it would be easier to get through to him then the others (which is true as he had easier problems then the bullies did). Just assuming but I doubt you have ever been in charge of several special needs (many of them fairly severe) at a time. You do make mistakes.

    Saying I turned a blind eye to it definately does bring up the wrong impression though. Lets put it this way, I gave his mom my email address because I wanted to continue helping him (yes I know your pedophile self will find sickness in that, how else would your mind automatically assume that by saying he was mad at me means I did that sortof shit to him) by talking to both him and her. Would I do that if I didn’t care about him?

    That could be true, though isn’t, and I can’t really prove to you that the camp does exist or the kids do exist because if I was to tell you there names right now after everything I have already told you I would probably be breaking the law.
