Prevent Future Massacres By Curbing Bullying

Scoop: Prevent Future Massacres By Curbing Bullying.

When Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold went on the killing spree at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo., that claimed a score of lives, McCullough pointed out, they shouted “this is revenge.” He judged the revenge likely was for bullying.

No, they weren’t bullied.

For being such a prominent psychologist you think Mr. McCullough would have done some research.

Hi! Just curious – where does the information that they weren’t bullied come from? I haven’t done a lot of research on these guys other than what gets reported, so all I’d heard was the claim that they were bullied. I’d be interested in reading more on what apparently was actually going on with them. Thanks!

Regardless of what you think of Michael Moore’s condescending docu-drama Bowling for Columbine, one of the interviews in the film does lend credence to the idea that they weren’t bullied. The girls in Harris and Klebold’s bowling class suggest that they isolated themselves by acting like douchebags. Which sounds right on the money.
