I got the following anonymous e-mail yesterday.

WHY YOU NEED TO SINGLE OUT CRAIGSLIST AS THE WORLDS BIGGEST CRIME PLAYGROUND IM NOT SURE BUT YOU NEED TO GET A GRIP ON REALITY. YOU WANNA BE A VIGILANT Y COME ON DOWN TO THE HOOD. CLEAN THAT UP WITH ALL THAT ENERGY. oh and if you are female and are married…SCREW your husband once in awhile that will keep him off craigslist.

It sounds like someone doesn’t like the work I do. I’m guessing either a pimp or someone who uses craigslist to sell stolen goods. First off I’m not a vigilante. I’m just a guy with a website and an opinion. Secondly, why should I clean up the hood? Why can’t the hood clean itself up? And lastly I’m male and I don’t need some skank on craigslist to get my rocks off.

    To be fair trench it could be a John who’s annoyed his favorite sex slave, i mean escort, was taken down.I’m still libertarian enough to be uneasy on arresting hookers (I think the pimps should be the target of police, but the occasional down on her luck stripper turning tricks on CL needs AA or NA not jail time) but your site shows that most of the times the so called victimless crime of prostitution isn’t.That emailer’s sour grapes proves you’re getting your point across.

    Rob, even if prostitution was legal I still don’t think it would solve the problems of human trafficking and child prostitution unfortunately.Katie, thanks for your comment. This is actually the first bit of hatemail I’ve gotten in a while.

    Agreed. That’s why Libertarianism is too pie in the sky for me nowadays. In a perfect world people would be able to make the decision to be a prostitute and no one would care, but in the real world hookers are forced inot that life, if not by a pimp as in most cases then by drug addiction or emotional problems.I do think pimps should get more times than hookers, but the happy hooker myth is just that. A myth.
