I have been praying that these brats get all they can get in regards to sentencing but sadly this type of thing only shows just what I feared most and that is that they will not be sentenced seriously in this case.

I fear there will be some wrist slapping, and these kids will go on doing what they always have without the slightest regard for their actions. Sadly the parents will keep NOT parenting as they have been all along and this will blow by as if it never happened
    Now that is Sad.
Maybe there needs to be a letter writing campaign to the prosecutors in the case to stand up and fight for justice and a real sentence.

I thought they should have all been kept in jail and not been allowed bail at all. Let them see what their actions get them.

I agree. It is sad. These kids won’t even know what they did was WRONG unless the things that they WANT to do are not taken away.. like FREEDOM to go about your normal daily life. This is one of the reasons our society is so screwed up… the punishments never hold true. Just an FYI to anyone who wants to know, and may want to send some kind of e-mail letter campaign… the local newspaper for the town that this happened in is THE LEDGER at theledger.com.

Do you people honestly think they should all receive the same punishment?

So Melissa, do you believe that it is OK to sit around and watch someone get beatin and do nothing about it? I beleive they ALL deserve punishment for this, they should not be able to have freedoms that other criminals would not have, just because they are under the age of 18. They ALL should have to stay on house arrest till the trial, that was the order and it should have stuck… now, they think they are getting away with this, as a slap on the wrist.

No, not so much. I DO believe that they have gotten down to the real perps in this case.

I dont think its ok, but the girl they let off is one that was begging for them to let her go if I am not mistaken.

And the guys werent even witnessing this brutality. I am assuming they thought it was like any other high school fight. (which were horrible for all of us to watch back when I was in high school).

They have TAPE (those idiot kids), they know who was actually a part of this and they know who is just a follower, who may or may not be afraid of the same treatment if they go against. (we are talking about kids again).

No, I dont believe its alright. Have I personally seen someone in a fight (pre-planned no less, including the victim)? Its been a long time, but yeah.

The order is a way of law, and guaranteed it has everything to do with each kids involvement. They will still have to answer.

    Melissa,

Your point is taken, but I still believe that until the trial ALL these kids should be on house arrest like ordered… it just shows lax in the system to start dropping things now. Cara, even though she may not have hit Tori, was video taping at one point and was watching and should AT least have to be on house arrest till the trial and the boys knew what was going on… one popped there head in to tell them to keep it down… they as well need to be on house arrest till the trial. They will probably not get as much punishment as the rest once the verdicts come in.. but at least this time on house arrest will show them that this is serious.

The order was preliminary. And was just. The case however will probably not come to court for a LONG time.

I dont feel sorry for these kids, dont get me wrong. But I think there has been some sorting out of who was who in the situation.

I am all for a just punishment.
