Well, well well. It seems that the alleged ringleader in the beating of Victoria Lindsay has had a run-in with the law before.

An ex-boyfriend of Mercades Nichols had once obtained an injunction against Nichols for violence against him and threatening violence. She was arrested for violating the injunction by sending him text messages and getting one of the other suspects, Brittni Hardcastle, to bring the victim a Valentine’s Day present.

It sounds like somebody’s precious little snowflake has anger and possession issues.

The victim was also on probation at the time of the attack she was also living with Mercedes the week of the attack (which makes the headlines of her being ”lured” to the home where the attack took place not quite truthful).

I am not defending what happened to Ms. Lindsay, at all, because it was horrific. I am just saying that this particular group of kids, victim included, all seemed to have issues.

CharmingDriver: I wonder what the victim was on probation for. Regardless of what victim said, 6 on 1 is not a fight – it is a massacre. Locking someone in a house is kidnapping. There is also conspiracy here. To top it off, if the perps don’t draw big sentences in FL, the Feds can try them on civil rights. These losers are done for life – their pics &amp data are known by millions.

Oh please, it does not matter if the victim was on probation… she didn’t violate it by instigating a brutal attack on someone. This girl Mercedes was the one who put ALL these girls in this situation… she called the girls over and then called Victoria back home because of an emergency… Mercedes was supposed to be Victoria’s friend and, unless I’m mistaken, friends don’t normaly call others over to their house to beat their friends… but hey… maybe I’m wrong about the new generation… “hey, come ova…hava party…we’ll kick yo ass”

This is one of the most brutal and savage assault against a child i have ever seen, america is outraged about this almost murder of a girl who was kidnapped, held against her will, chose not to fight back against nine animals. The last time i saw something like this was when i was watching discovery channel and they showed how lions attack and kill their prey in packs, the animal show i saw about the lions was less vicious and brutal then this. At least these animals were hungry and it is natural. What is the justification of these pack of animals that would do this . A messege has to be sent , that this type of horrible crime will not be, and never be accepted again. They need to do some hard time in this case ,at least 20 years each, if not more . She has lost sight in one eye , and hearing in one ear. Tell me what time can make up for that, and the mental scars she will carry for the rest of her life. We can only hope and pray that for once justice prevails here. and that we have smart jurors who wont be swayed by clever, manipulative, lieing, lawyers who will try to get these thugs off the hook

Mind you I am not trying to make this attack seem less than it is which is bad however come on you all really honestly thought that beating was bad?
It looked like some 3rd grade fighters in the playground

Mind you they were wrong for calling her over and than not allowing her to leave that is kidnapping. but a massacre Please the kids thankfully had little fight in them or Victoria would have had some serious facial injuries.

I think this was more damaging to her mental abilities than her physical Not mind you that this makes it any more ok but let’s at least no matter how pissed off about it we get keep it in proportion.

Beating someone into a state of unconsciousness is a beating any way you look at it. Bay, you think they fought like 3rd graders..You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about. We didn’t see the entire video. We didn’t see her being knocked out. She could have very well not woken up after being knocked out. They could have killed her. But she did wake up and she got subjected to even more beatings. These girls deserve punishment.

No I am not a child.
YES I do know all about being beaten believe me I was beaten a lot worse than this young lady many years ago.
I did not say it was not bad what happened I did not say it should not be prosecuted to the fullest.

What I was trying to say is She is Blessed that these little asshats did not know how to fight.
Oh and If i remember correctly she got knocked out behind knocking her head into something, NOT by someone knocking her out.

I also take into account the fact that well she is Not totally innocent in this whole situation.
May I remind you that this youngster who was jumped was the one that kept selling tickets as they say on MySpace and in school??
She was the one yelling she was going to kick one or two of their butts and she was going to fight this one and that one.

Not sure about you but my momma always taught me never write a check that your A** can not cash.

Now IF in fact she done Nothing and they just done this for well excitement or entertainment than i would be all over it.

However she was the one selling wolf tickets. I do believe that it should have been one on one hell I believe it should never have happened and that parents should be raising their own kids and Step parents need to work on relating to step kids and they never should be driven or left leave the home, etc etc etc but we are past that with this case.
The Step parent was allowed to remain alpha and this kid was driven out to live with a friend. that there was the start of this kids down fall. Sadly again the parents would have been on point none of this crap would have happened.

All i am saying if she is going to talk trash she should expect this type of thing to happen.

At the same time these kids need their ass kicked

I am Sorry for what she went through and again Hope they get what they have coming to them but the way you all talk about it was like you needed to bring in the FBI or some such stuff.

I cant really believe that what you are saying , i don’t think you believe it yourself. i notice that you use words that these criminal’s use, i wonder if you come from that same type of background,if you do ,God can help you, just ask him into your life and he can help you with all the hurt and pain that you suffer from. let me read you something from the bible about justice , GOD creates laws and appoints judges that are supposed to impose sentences that fit the crime , when that does not happen , people have no rule of law and they know that they are going either beat the rap or get out early and when nations fail to impose the law the way they should we have repeat offenders who go out and do the same crimes again and again so if you don’t send a message about this horrible crime that almost killed her , and a doctor on Nancy grace show said she suffered serious injuries that could of killed her, she was knocked out because one of the girls slammed her head very hard against the wall , as most people know the brain is soft tissue and a concussion is very serious, can cause bleeding severe memory loss, and even death as the doctor stated .she lost hearing in one ear, and eye sight in one eye. for you to say she deserved it because she said something on my space is so wrong. so any time some is called a name we have a right to beat them for 30 minutes cause vision loss, and hearing loss and brain injuries. every one who has seen this is very outraged and wants to see justice done, no one and even news anchors have said this was playground stuff as you stated, this was a horrible crime and needs to be dealt with so i would say to you go to a nice christian church and pray that GOD will allow you to see the world the way he sees it .i really do think you are crying out for your own attention to be heard ,you need to go against what ever one else is saying to feel important , you can feel important by accepting JESUS CHRIST into your life

Hon, this type thing happens Every day around the US. Sadly though it does not happen with a video turned on at the time, it does not gain the attention of Dr phil and al lthe other wanna fix the world quacks, it goes unnoticed and people die behind those beatings they take.
I just was trying to make the point that things happen a hell of a lot worse than this and for lessor reason and Nope the feds are never called out.

Maybe I said it wrong, sorry for that, but i have seen and been through a hell of a lot worse and well it is barely even prosecuted and it ticks me a bit that this is being blown so out of whack.

I am 43 now and i will have you know i am Not a law breaking person. I am the mother of 4 and granny of 6.
Not one of my kids have ever done any such crap like this. They have never been in trouble with the law and are good kids. They are well behaved and respect others. They have excelled in school and the older ones have successful careers. but than well I parent mine
Unlike these parents.

If you need any info open me read my other posts I also do not need attention I just speak what I feel Just like you and everyone else.
I believe that the world is going to hell in a hand basket and yes more people need to find God or whomever they desire to worship.

I also believe parents need to get off their arses and start doing their jobs because at this rate well heaven help us down the road.

Bay – thank you for telling it like it is.

I agree with what you are saying. These girls do deserve severe punishment for what they did – and the victim needs to take responsibility for her behavior. We all learn after being in a situation like that, and we all suffer from the trauma. I too have been beaten to the point of receiving a concussion. It was not my fault, and I did not deserve it, but I got myself into that situation and was spending time with ‘those’ types of individuals. Meaning, I was with people that like to act tough, take risks, and didn’t really care about themselves or anything else in this world. Very self destructive. Needing guidance.

You are also absolutely 100% CORRECT when you talk about this happening to the point of death for many, and we, society, for the most part avoid looking at it because we do not want to do anything about it. Why? Because it involves telling and instructing and investing time – requiring that parents raise their children with a modicum’s of decency – wanting to do the right thing, because it is the good thing to do. How can we ever assure that??? That is the ideal and will never happen. Some kids do bad things, even with good parents – hence the never ending fight against evil. There will always be some type of violence.

This stuff and much worse goes on every day – wake up people. We have made these girls famous. Its interesting to see the copycats reported via the media. Is this about satisfying our need for fame and blood lust with copycat videos?

We are so busy focusing on the wrong priorities and allowing our leaders to make decisions that keep us lean and hungry for something to hold onto. We are being fed Britney, Fear, and what we are supposed to think, every night on the news, instead of thinking for ourselves and deciding what is important and what really matters. The system is hosed – we need a do over. We need people, as individuals, to really start looking around them and become aware of what the hell is really happening in America today.

Yes, these things happen everyday, you are right. And, unfortunatly, they have not been on tape. NOW THIS ONE IS and we can finally do something about it. WE NEED TO PROSECUTE THESE GIRLS or we will see many copycats (already happening actually and luckily they are on tape as well), and if these girls get away with it, with a slap on the wrist, it will just give these kids the idea that they can get away with it as well… and they will be WORSE and they will kill someone… I hope it does not take that, to open the eyes of the world.

As far as Tori, I am sure she said alot of things, and has many issues herself and those will probably come out in this whole trial. But those with glass houses should not throw stones. How would you like to have all your indiscretions posted out on the net for all to read and see. No one is perfect, but that does not condone someone to brutaly beat you.

I am a parent of a 1st grader and it scares the hell out of me that it could get WORSE. I am going to do my utmost best to make sure that she learns to respect others. Unfortunatly, some people have different values and pass those values onto their kids and they have no respect for society. Not all kids, who are bad, come from bad parents either. Sometimes you get a child who is just bullheaded. Spare the rod, spoil the child. Alot of kids know what they can get away with today… they get timeouts and sent to their rooms… My mother only had to look at me and I would know I better straighten up. She never spanked me (that I can remember) But I know I didn’t want her to.

Kids today do not have good role models either!! Police officers having sexual relations with teenagers, teachers doing the same, priest(nuff said)… oh and not to mention the Excellent role models with have in the entertainment industry that literally get away with murder, drinking and driving and doing drugs daily… What we are showing our kids is that this is acceptable behavior and as adults we need to put an end to this. I was watching a cartoon with my daughter one day (on a childrens channel) where a group of cartoon girls is making fun of one of their friends because of her hair style… they shuned her and made fun of her until she retaliated against them… in the end they became friends again. Needless to say she is no longer aloud to watch that kids channel at ALL and it starts with a D. I will ask you, what kind of message do you think she took away from that. Stories when I was young taught us morals. The moral of the story is….

Well the moral of that story was… Make fun of anyone who is different, if they make fun of you for being different, fight them and then all of us can be friends. SAD … just sit down with your kids one day and watch an episode of your kids cartoons or play a game with them… look at it from their eyes and see what you would think. This is why our kids are desensitized by violence… they think it is normal. Quote…” It takes a community to raise a child”… this is SOO true, how can we put all the blame on a parent when our society condones it!

Your words are of a bitter person, you use your difficulties as a child to justify this behavior of these teens who beat this girl up as not as bad as some other crimes in this world. Lindsay was left with a concussion, a damaged eye and multiple bruises. A report from Fox News says she was “bruised from head to toe.”

I am NOT on welfare and do not live off the system. My daughters father is in the picture still, which is good, but I only get 200.00 a month of child support from him if I am lucky to get that, so don’t be saying that all single mothers are out to get RICH or any other bull I have heard throught out some of these blogs lately. My daughters daycare alone cost 400.00 a month…

I think personally they should NOT have gotten bail and should still be in jail. I Pray they get charged as adults.

I don’t condone violence.

You should not lay your hands on someone else unless it’s in self defense or you’re in the UFC..

As far as self defense goes, did Victoria Lindsay start this and we just didn’t see that on the tape? I believe there are missing tapes.

I doubt that’s how it went down, but who really knows. Self defense though is not 6 on 1 with two wussy lookouts.

I would think that if you hit someone hard enough to knock them into a state of unconsciousness, a “normal” person would think omg, what did I do, try to wake them up, take them to the hospital, be worried that you hurt this person more than you had intended. You just wanted to scare her a bit…Standing around and waiting until they wake up and hitting them more is a whole other thing…. These girls are evil vicious animals. They need to serve and have some time to think about what they did…. They will do it again, it’s not a one time thing. If you are able to wait around for someone to wake up to hit them more, you will be a repeat offender unless you are locked away.

okay, nobody knows all the stuff.nobody can say anything unless you have evidence that all your saying is true.the courts dont tell you everything.nobody deserves to be beaten like that.it dosent matter if she was talking her junk over myspace.myspace is just not safe anymore.most people(teenagers and even some adults[if you want to call them that]) talk junk on myspace and they wont say nothing in person.back to the topic though.it does matter if ms.lindsay was on probation, and making threats saying ill kick one and/or two of yours butts makes her look even worse.fighting is not the answer.although she was making threats, she did not hit back(smart) and its wrong to brutally beat a 16 year old teenager.there all going to do time no matter what really happen because the video taped it and were going to put it on youtube and myspace for everyone to see.even if someone didnt beat her unconcious, its still very dangerous to get a concusion.she had a bad one from what the news and everyone that has menchine it said.she hit her head against the wall when a girl pushed her.i was also watching another video(iv been keeping up with this story since this town is about an 45 minutes away from me)mercedes, the one everyones calling the ringleader, her mother menchined that mercedes and her were okay with each other.lindsay was staying at er residence due to some family issues.mercedes had gone outside to go warn her about the whole situation.lindsay has declined the information let it go in one ear and out the other.she went inside and two of the girls that were talking there stuff over myspace were inside.one of the girls pushed her against the wall knocking her unconsious.and thats where it all began.somebody that i know told me they had attended the court hearing and saw the whole video.she said it was TERRIFYING.if you were a mother seeing your daughter get beat your minds would all change about the whole story if you think lindsay was in the wrong.another thing, the parents of the one of the kids was wrong for saying “if she cant back up her stuff that she talks on myspace then she shouldnt talk shit and deserves it”.WRONG SIR noone does.anyways thats my opinion.

Everyone has an opinion that is affected by their own collective life experiences. If emotion and personal issues are taken out of the picture, one indisputable fact remains……………..Assault and kidnapping are against the law. Speech, even if you’re talking nonsense, is a right protected by the Constitution. The mounting violence being committed between children in this country is out of control. Until we can go into the homes of individual (which is both impossible and illegal) and monitor parenting practices we are at the mercy of our legal system to enforce the law. As a citizen and a parent I am asking (not telling) people to fight the urge to blame to victim. At the end of the day the legal system does not care what led up to the choices that were made by Mercades and her co conspirators. We send the wrong message to young people when we make an argument for choosing violence.

And so you know.. this kind of fight does not happen everyday… they kept her in a house (kidnapping) with not adults or anyone to stop it, they beat her for 35 min and then they drove her to a CVS and dropped her off after buying her a coke and saying “sorry, but if you tell the cops it will be worse on you.”.. The “happens everyday” bull happens in a school yard or hall or public place where you can have your friends and they have theirs, you can leave at anytime, an adult is bound to show up before it last 35 MIN and your not thrown in a car and driven around and threatened not to say anything, because the WHOLE SCHOOL WAS THERE.

FYI, no court date yet, that I know of. Victoria’s dairy has been released to the public/media here in Floirda and the gag order has been released. I have heard through other sources that Hardcastle may be trying to get a celebrity lawyer, but that is only if the judge decides to let them take the case without being a Florida attorney – they are from out of state. I would think that the judge in his right mind would keep it in state and make these girls and families pay for their attorney’s. I think that we are all of the same mind that this crime was horrible and that extreme measures need to be taken due to the high visibility of the situation. It is very important that the correct message is sent. It will be the job of any attorney who represents the suspects to minimize the harshness of their respective sentences. Rest assured. I feel that the video evidence will be very hard to dispute. No matter what was said, not matter what was written, I feel that it will be popularly held that the only time one should commit the violence that was committed against Victoria Lindsay would be if he or she were fighting for their lives. It does not appear as if any of the suspects involved were ever frightened or threatened. Victoria can hardly be seen as a threat to any one of them. I don’t know about the rest of you (and I’m interested to hear), everytime this video is played on the morning news, it seems to appear worse. You would think it would get easier to watch, but it just doesn’t to me. Don’t you think a jury is going to feel the same way?

we can hope a jury feels the same way , but in the history of our flawed system not most of the time. case in point the simpson trial what more compelling evidence did one need, and yet you know, so lawyers can twist, lie, deceive, paint a strong counter picture , i know i served on jury before and the guy was as guilty as can be , but his lawyer , so twisted the facts and we had to go over everything again and it took time , because all these crooked lieing , manipulative lawyers have to do is create reasonable doubt, and you know they will try, remember the video of rodney king how much more proof was needed, when the cops beat him with clubs for a few hours, and yet the clever lawyers did a number on the simple minded jurors, and during a second trial only happened cause the town was burned down ,did they, the cops get 1 year, big deal .1 year for clubing a man almost to death for a few hours, and then when reginal denny was hit on the head with a bolder and almost died, the defendent used the case of race rage, can you belive that ,race rage, and beat the rap, the system is severly flawed, even though it is the best disfuntional system, in the disfuntional world, so we have to hope and pray that true justice is done here , someday GOD will render justice to all who have not repented to him for the forgiveness of sins, we need the lord so much so, all the world needs jesus

Nancy Grace made a statement on her TV news show that the most time these individuals will likely will do is 18 months.This to me is an outrage.For the kidnapping alone, they should be spending at least 15 to 20 years in jail.if this happens, we can all expect this kind of sick behavior to continue with the punishment being no more than a slap on the wrist

Amazing when you read this blog from the beginning, some things stand out to me –

For instance – people judging other people not really reading what each other is saying responding with hostility instead of maybe trying to look at another persons perspective. Not just anger – hostility – some of it bordering on the juvenile.

Bay may be telling it like it is for her – John Pupupparro – judging her.

The crime seems like it is being down played by Bay – but many of you people blogging obviously do not live near other people. Or, the people around you sure do a good job of hiding all their problems.

This type of crime happens all the time. We can punish all we want to. Until we see what we are doing or not doing in our lives each and every day to stop this, nothing will ever change.

Blogging helps to alleviate the stress of living in this truly fucked up world…oops….sorry John.

We have a massive problem that is lurking in front of every single one of us, and if we started working on that, we would change alot of things. Kind of like the domino effect – and the supermassive problem is the destruction of the earth.

If we lived by the good old golden rule, and taught that to our children, life would be much happier and calmer. But, instead we have schools that are now like guarded camps.

We fight in wars and destroy in the name of?

And we wonder why there is fighting like this?

We all need to be taught to be responsible for our actions – and treat others as we want to be treated. That includes every living thing.

Instead we make stars of girls beating other girls – we make stars of young girls dressing up scantily and dancing suggestively.

Look at what we worship? Could it be we are like little lambs living in our own world and ignore most of what is going on around us. To see it means we have to acknowledge it. Whatever it is it does not happen in our home. Swallowing what we see on TV.

Is that why this is such an outrage? We are not educated on the statistics of rape, or domestic violence? Of shootings in the cities? Hmmm…..

Sometimes the absurdity is incredible – the sect in Texas – where children have been taken from their mothers. The ‘elder’ men having their way with 13 year olds….they should be punished. And, what do we have to offer these kids? Foster homes? How evil are they?

But – I digress.

Thanks for responding. I didn’t think Nancy would agree. She always tells it like it is according to the way that the law is written. We can only hope that Mercades is not going to be considered a first time offender since she already had a restraining order filed against her for violence. I’m not saying this in hate or anger. These children need to understand the weight of their actions while they are young enough to change the direction of their lives. At this rate, they are all going to end up in jail or the victim of violence when they encounter somebone who fights back. For all of those who want to be sure that Victoria takes responsibility for her actions………………..if a six on one beating doesn’t do it, I don’t know what will.

i think its really sad that a girl now has a deformed face and will never ever be able to forget this experience over $4 and after everything the girls are on bail when they should be in prison serving a long time in jail. To think that they lured her into a house and then each of the six girls took half an hour each to beat her up must be the worst experience for one and it must be upsetting for the parents to know that they weren’t there to help and to think that none of the six girls are sorry for what they did and for a mother to say that victoria lindsay provoked the attack makes it worse for the victim no-one asks to get beaten up and no-one deserves what that girl got. now the victim won’t be able to hear out of one ear and see properly out of one eye and to think all this happened for $4 what has the world come to. i think that the lawyer should quit as well to know that someone is actually defending makes this a whole lot worse to think people actually think what happened to that girl was fine because sheeeeeeeeeee provoked it IS JUST WORNG. i wish victoria lindsay all the best and to hold her head up high because things could have been alot worse and she could be dead right now and i hope she can move on from all this and carry on with her life and i wish her the best of luck for the future and i hope those monsters get what they deserve

I don’t think anyone is saying this is not a horrible crime – I think some are saying that we all play a part and need to take a look at the bigger picture of what is going on.

Because this was caught on tape, our consciousness has been tapped into – we can see this before our very eyes.

The sad thing is that this goes on all the time – and more often than not, there is no one there for the victims. Or, what services are provided are sorely lacking. In an attack like this there is a lot of shame for the victim – not saying she should feel that way, but that is what happens when you are traumatized.

We need to be aware of this crime every day – because that is how often it happens. Punishment and consequences are good tools, but they are not the total answer.

How have the attackers been taught to treat others? Hmmm….seems obvious to me that there are some real issues there. We are not doing a very good job of raising our youth, if this stuff happens. So – what is the answer? Keeping in mind, that this stuff is happening all over the place?

Do we just round all the unsavory and violent characters up? Isn’t that what jail and prison are? Is this working? Maybe keeping some of them off the street – but we need to work on preventing this from happening in the first place. After the fact teaching is a high price to pay.

laurie the bigger picture is that the laws are to soft ,and the people who are involved with crimes know this, and realize the chances of doing time for serious brutal crimes as these does not most of the time result in severe punishment, so it emboldes them, and when their is no accountability, and pass the buck card is passed to others well you make people repeat the crimes, case in point, how much time do child molesters do in jail, thats right not long, so they come out over and over again and repeat horrible crimes against children, so if the laws worked properly that would not happen, sometimes parents can share some of the blame when there is no disipline in the home, no rules, no punishment for misbehaving, so what does the child learn about right and wrong? people by there sin nature are bent to do some wicked stuff, so the nature has to take on a new nature that only GOD can bring ,when we leave GOD OUT of society the results are going to be very bad , so we have a generation of kids who are disobediant to parents, authority, truce breakers, greedy, dishonest, lovers of self, pleasure seekers, haters of GOD , so to say that jail is part of the problem, i say no its not , if judges and the laws worked people would think twice of doing them, and instead of parents always coddleing their children and failing to see and deal with their wrong well fill in the blanks ,these girls deserve 20 years each for this horrible crime, they almost killed her, she suffered so much, so to down play this is not right, she lost sight in one eye, and hearing in one ear so what amount of time can make that up?

What I am suggesting is that we need PREVENTION.

Punishment, and consequences alone do not seem to be doing the trick.

We live in a world that has many beliefs and many religions, and spirituality. As long as we are not endangering anyone, or anything, people, in my book, can believe in what they want. I am not going to get into a religious debate with you.

Free will – yes, that is it. We all have free will to do the right thing, or the wrong thing. Most people are little lambs that repeat what they see or have been raised to do. Some never get caught for the crimes they commit, others do. Until we look at each other as one in the same as everyone else, and try to see the connection, crimes like this will proliferate.

What have you done today to stop domestic violence, to stop sexual abuse against children, or help a young kid in need? A single mother? A single Father? The local food pantry?

And, if you are volunteering, then do more. Bring your kids with you.

That is what is going to change the world and the crime statistics – others reaching out to others and helping, instead of seeing the differences, see the common ground.

What a joke! the lawyers claimed that the charges were too “harsh”. I guess kidnapping and beating a girl within an inch of her life for 30 minutes ,then videotaping the entire incident, is not so bad in their eyes. Well tough luck it’s all there for the world to see.

I think that it is important that we DON”T just forget about this and let it go. I know that some of you say over and over again that this happens all the time, well, yes it does… but maybe if we DON”T just look the other way this time, and try to find some resolution to this kind of bully torcher, we can stop this from happening to other kids down the line. We need to teach kids more compassion in the world around them. Yes, parents need to be a part of that, but so does society. Our society PROMOTES violence everyday… the new GRAND THEFT AUTO…. OMG… is just horrible. and then there are kids trading ipods for guns IN SCHOOL like baseball cards or something and beating up their teachers because they no longer have respect for them, and having sex with their teachers.. and not knowing why it is such a big deal. …. I am sorry.. but letting this go is only going to promote this to a higher level… kids will believe they can just get away with anything with a slap on the wrist and it will get worse and worse… WE NEED TO TEACH RESPECT AGAIN. If this means that we need to put every kid ….who does harm to another, sells or trades guns or drugs at school … in jail… so be it!!! Teachers need to act like teachers, cops like cops, government officials like government officials ….adults period need to gain respect from these kids again and need to be good role models for the young or they will never have any respect for anyone or themselves later in life. They have just let 3 of these kids off of house arrest if you did not know, and Bay had a good idea in another post to send letters to the officials in the area where this occured… if anyone would like to send e-mail letters to the local paper.. Navigator I agree that this incident could be used in awareness education. However I believe that many of the issues stem from things like Youtube there are thousands others that were not reported or the people not caught on there. The fact that Youtube allows these type videos to continue to be posted is a issue. Shows like Jacka** and Viva la bam such shows are another huge issue.

I do think that if it can be discovered what prosecutor is handling this case and the address to them that a letter /email writing campaign could help to maybe not let them handle this with a slap on the wrist. As I said in the other post maybe they need someone to stand up and speak out or a lot of someone’s in regards to how people feel about this situation and how important since it is the one that has been “chosen” so to speak as the one in the Public eye that they use it as a example to all those kids out here who find this amusing or think they wish to copy it. We have had one copycat case I believe in Illinois or Indiana, I forget which. That was however one too many.

I would be happy to help with writing though as I have said in the past and some have seen
I am NOT the best writer I will do what I can to help see these brats punished properly.

John, Number one: You really should lay off the comments toward Bay. Everyone has the right to thier own opinnion … and Bays is not that far off from yours… She (or he) is just saying that this ONE case is not going to save the world, because this happens everyday…everywhere. Can’t the government triple or quadruple X this stuff and if an adult show this s**T to a kid under 18 they go to jail? I know that sounds harsh, but come on… has our society really gotten so bored that we find this filth entertaining? That we have lost all imagination and the only thing that we can create is some stupid “jack*** crap and are men so hard up to get “some” that they create a game where you can have sex and then kill the girl… is this REALLY entertaining??? John, now you are taking me out of context… I was making the point that no matter if it was THESE kids or anyother kids that did this, we need to prosecute this case… period….to make other kids understand this in unacceptable behavior and it WILL be prosectuted or it will happen again and again!!!!! Some are saying “oh, poor girls, shouldn’t have to go through this because they are kids” and my POINT is that who cares if they are kids or not… they need to be punished for this…PERIOD. No one here is against you John, you keep bringing up judgement day… well also in the bible is “thow shall not judge others, or thow will be judged”… again… these kids need to be judged in a court of law, and they will be judged by the lord… but it really is not a good idea to cast judgement on anyone yourself. You can believe that what they did was wrong and try to find a way to change it in the future for others, but we can not change what they did and no, I do not believe they need to be in prison for life. I think they do need alot time behind bars to to think about what they did and to show other kids in this world that it is unacceptable, probably 1 to 5 years depending on their participation in this crime, and ALOT of community service going to schools across the counrty showing this video to students and explaining the details of what they went through during this trial and when in prison… maybe this will open the eyes of the students, they will be disgusted and they won’t be so apt to just sit around and watch someone get beatin or participate in a beating if they see the video and know that you can go to jail and know how scary it really is. They need to also partcipate in programs of victims of violent crimes snf their families… because they need to SEE what they did, how this kind of beating can effect someone for life and in the case of a beating killing someone, how the families have to cope with with the loss. This will hopfuly teach them the compassion that they have not learned for this community and their familes.

JP has his drawers are bunched in his nuts over one comment that he misunderstood and i may have said badly. He has obviously not read anything I wrote since. i am not stressing over him he is but one person who reminds me greatly of my father he too held ONE poor choice I made in life against me and tossed me out of his house at 15.So I have experience with people like him HAHA

Back on subject though
I am unsure honestly if ratings online would be much help in all honesty because without parents taking a stand and parenting these kids online and what they buy and watch the ratings are pretty useless.

As long as parents continue to buy these kids at the age of 10 and up computers to put in their rooms, phones with cameras, and phones with web access and not paying attention to what they are doing with these things well we will keep having issues.
The major thing that I think needs to be addressed is PARENTS.
I have said it in other posts when these kids are found to be doing things like this and the many other things we see happen on line Fine those parents that are found not paying attention to the children. Once they start paying money they may start paying attention to these kids. There also should be parenting classes and counseling for the child and parent. If they come back again they get more added like community service or something.

Bay, you are right about the parents buying computers/phones etc… I have a young daughter and she has a computer but NO INTERNET (except for assignments for school and it is on MY computer only) … and won’t have till she can show me that she is responsile enough to be on it… and I don’t think she needs a cell phone, or will need one till she is old enough to drive. At that point it will have only a few minutes on it for emergency only. I think that parents have given way to much leway for showing somesort of statis. I don’t believe I have to proce anything to anyone… except my daughter and teaching here to be a good person and treat others as she wants to be treated. I think that parents do need to pay more attention to what there kids do and watch, but we can not be at school with them, and we can not be in the car with them when they get older… and we can only hope that what we taught them has sunk in. Your idea about the classes is great… because it is obvious that the parents of these girls/boys NEED classes, they have NEVER taken the time to teach them the compassion they need for others and probably alot of other very important things as well. But we need to also try change some things in our society as well.. if we have not gone to far into this hole we have created… I can keep saying it over and over again that what our children are seeing… even on simple billboards today… is just sick…it’s all over the place and shoved in your face daily…. I live in Florida near Orlando and believe me… they have some graphic billboards here.

John, I am only going to write this one last statment to you, because I am not going to have you put me down now… you are being as bad as the kids on myspace with your slander.

I did not say that all these kids should only get 1 year.. Cara Murphy… from Tori’s own statement… which you can read at the ledger.com… states that Cara did not hit her and maybe she should get 1 or 2 years (plus the 15 years of service) for not doing anything to stop it. … I DO believe that the girls/boys who DID hit Tori or where making sure she did not leave the house and threatened to make it worse if she went to the cops… should get at least 5 years each… after that they should have MANY years of going into schools and showing what they did to Tori and what they had to go through.. so it DOES help society in SOME way. This case HAS to mean something .. and teaching other kids about what can happen if they DO do something like this is the only way we will see anything change. This could be a 20 year sentence … 5 hard time and the rest going school to school for 15 years making sure that they let everyone know what they did… and why others should NOT do it… that would be humiliating… which is what they wanted to do to Tori by showing it on the net… and TRUST me… they will get the beating part of it for the first 5 years… and by the way, I AM THE ONE who stated that the prisons are to lax.. they are a joke and we need to go back to bread and water , not being able to write books about their crime and sell them… or any of the “resort style criminal vacations” they have become…

John, you are always talking about god and such but ask yourself this… What would Jesus do to help these kids to LEARN from this and also to help his followers learn from this as well. The bible states an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth… they WILL get theirs- in many ways- through jail, humiliation and KARMA!!!

We didn&rsquot see the entire video. We didn&rsquot see her being knocked out. She could have very well not woken up after being knocked out. They could have killed her. But she did wake up and she got subjected to even more beatings. These girls deserve punishment.

IF we have not dug ourselves in that hole too deeply.
I have to wonder if we can get out though with things the way they are on TV alone is scary When you see many of these shows that portray these kids talking back, disrespecting parents, and others. That added in the movies etc etc.
Add in magazines all those things are factors. Than add in the internet YIKES

I however do believe that if a parent is doing the job they are supposed to do kids can watch movies, and play first person shooter games, (at a certain age eg 13 and up) and know that there is a huge difference between shooting a person or stealing a car on the game and doing so in real life. They will know that movies are in fact just that Movies they are actors and that is Not real and there is a huge difference between fantasy and reality.

With the constant barrage of violent and over sexual content they are seeing if we do not teach them about fantasy and reality and respect and compassion and consideration for themselves and others well they are sure to end up having sex doing drugs and acting like heathens as my mom used to say LOL

I also sometimes think that with the added population of kids now days effected with drugs and alcohol from parents using them while pregnant or around them while they were young (eg smoking PCP or Crack with child in room) if the brains and how they work have not somewhere gotten twisted a bit.

As you said though i worry if we can get out or have we dug in way too deep to have hope of getting out.

Right, not only that, but a kids first and formost role model is the parent… if they see them doing drugs, drinking and what ever else… 90% of the time they will become just like the parent… thinking nothing is wrong with it… it is normal… Some kids… like my ex… grew up with a simular situation and turned out better then that.. because he saw it and hated it… but he is an exception to this rule… I am sure.

Again, maybe we should have licenses to have kids in this country. You must first go to parenting classes before even the THOUGHT of a child… it is so backwards… you have a kid and then go to parenting class… screwy…

This was a high school fight whether you want to believe it or not. (yeah, even if it wasnt at the school)

I have 3 points to prove it.

1. They are all high school age kids
2. They were fighting over teenage girl shit.
3. High School girls act in packs.

I dont really think the parenting should be questioned every single time something bad happens, or every single time a teenage kid does something bad. If ANYONE of the parents is the worst here if a parent must be blamed it would have to be Tori’s. What kind of parent sends their kid of to be a nomad at 16 anyway? What could she have possibly done?

I got into agruments with my parents when I was young and went and stayed with a FREIND till I started missing my own bed… HEY… Tori thought she was going to a FRIENDS house… and she got a rude awaking of the types of friends she had…

Some of the “highschool kids” you are referring to would be out of highschool this year… I don’t think of them so much as kids if they will be out in society as adults in a month… I don’t want them out in my society… you better watch out or you could be their next victim and they will just blame it on you… “all your fault… you did it to yourself “… do you want that?? Your way of thinking is one of the reasons we are in this mess…. you, yourself believe this is NORMAL behavior and just go about your day like no big deal… THAT IS THE PROBLAM LADY!!!!

if it was a school fight
#1. you usually have your OWN set of friends to back YOURSELF UP!

There has been rumors of ‘Tori’s’ MySpace being hacked into. So about the things supposedly posted online by her may have been added by someone else or one of the 6 girls. But who knows about that?

I have been in brawls growing up and I am an asthmatic girl by the way with no martial arts skills or training. I usually got into these said beatings and brawls with boys two to three years my senior, I would usually walking away with only a bump on the head and give or take a black eye. I have never been or seen in a brawl with more than two attackers …What Tori went through is unspeakable, there was no code of honor in this fight she was defenseless and most possibly scared to death that she had no ally in the whole house. She was weaponless and in the 30sec. video released to the public, it showed that she was already in pain and still had to endure more of the beating. This is inhuman!

It is also reported that the 6 girls were laughing when they were taken into custody in a holding cell. They thought that it was all a joke? A reality show?

Another thing that I can’t believe is that the parents of these girls are siding with their children’s behavior– saying that the charges are “Wrong” and that these girls are “Kids” and that they don’t want these girls to “spend the rest of their lives in prison.” Do these parents even realize that if their underage offspring commits a crime the parents are to serve the time and pay for the crime? The parents should be responsible enough to teach their children what is right and wrong. Shame on these parents!

We of course do not know exactly why Tori had to stay at a non-relatives’ home. But it is amazing to me that even here in California I have met teens (ranging from 15-17) living with friends and even having to work and pay rent to make ends meet. When I ask how they have come to this situation (where are their parents?) They evade the question. I see that most of them just didn’t want to be under adult supervision and under their parents control anymore. Some of their parents may be abusive or just reckless and they wanted freedom from all that. In exchange for this freedom, they have to work and get along with strangers and live with friends. They have no certainty, no future to look aim for, most of them gave up on hopes of going to college and having a great future.

America’s Youth must be saved.

If anyone viewed the Nancy Grace program aired on 5/16,you saw the updated photo’s of Tori and they were sickening. both her eyes were black and blue and closed shut. The back of her head was bleeding and cut, as well as her ears.They even showed part of the video,i hadn’t seen before, where one girl is beating her, she then falls on the bed and this cretin continues to beat her in the face and stomach.She then is seen running to a bedroom asking for her cell phone, while they’ re also showing the rest of these criminals in a darkened room planning what they’re going to do to her next. It’s bad enough watching what they did to this poor girl, then to actually see the outcome of the beating was beyond sickening.If these animals get away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist, then the judicial system should bow their heads in shame.

This is one of the most brutal and savage assault against a child i have ever seen, america is outraged about this almost murder of a girl who was kidnapped, held against her will, chose not to fight back against nine animals. The last time i saw something like this was when i was watching discovery channel and they showed how lions attack and kill their prey in packs, the animal show i saw about the lions was less vicious and brutal then this. At least these animals were hungry and it is natural. What is the justification of these pack of animals that would do this . A messege has to be sent , that this type of horrible crime will not be, and never be accepted again. They need to do some hard time in this case ,at least 20 years each, if not more . She has lost sight in one eye , and hearing in one ear. Tell me what time can make up for that, and the mental scars she will carry for the rest of her life. Well she wasn’t in a coma, she doesn’t have eye issues or ear issues.

Yeah, she got her ass kicked, and it was brutal. But the fact is it was a high school girl fight (beatin for navigator).

They got it on tape, and are making a HUGE deal out of it.

I don’t think thats a bad thing mind you. I have always thought that the bully thing should be paid more attention to. WAY before this incident.

BTW JP, if she was able to walk away, and complain… She wasn’t close to death.

There was also audio included with the videotape, she’s calling someone named Chris,asking for her cellphone,of course no one answered her, they were too busy planning their next attack.These bunch of cowardly pack animals , made sure she didn’t have a chance in hell to escape.

I saw no blood in those pics but you can see she was beatin very bad. She was in the hospital for a week. Tony, you are right. Being put on the stand will be very hard.. because the defense attornies will try to tear her apart… it happens all the time. The victim becomes the target … again. The lawyers are already trying to get some of these kids off on lessor sentinces and saying that it was Tori’s fault for not leaving. It could prove to be a VERY nasty trial. I think that the parents of these kids should have AT LEAST showed some form of compassion for Tori, but they just kept saying what “angels” their little girls were… yeah right! We can SEE that.. lol.

Tori is going to have a very hard time trusting friends again and will be VERY cautious throughout her life because of this. I hope it has taught her to choose her friends wisely and not trust people, or friends so easily.

First of all, most of you who throw around the fact that some of these posts are incorrect (referring to grammar and syntax) really need to review some basic English skills yourself. Secondly, I agree that this case is terrible, and I truly hope that Tori can rise above all of this. I hope that the criminals involved in this case not only get the book thrown at them, but also get some serious help for their very obvious anger issues. I am incensed at the fact that the mothers of the criminals made excuses for their children, trying to make it seem like it was lighter than what it was. No matter what Tori said on Myspace, there is never a reason for such a savage beating.
