Hundreds Of Callers Harass Wrong Family In Videotaped Beating Case:

Here are two lessons for you. The first is don’t fall into the mentality of the mob. The second is don’t believe everything you see on the internet.

The phone number that was supposed to belong to the family of Zachary Ashley that was posted on YouTube actually belonged to a different family. So 300 of you made harassing phone calls to a family that had nothing to do with the beating of Victoria Lindsay.

So stop thinking that you’re some badass vigilante or something because you’re not. You’re nothing more than a vandal who can’t think for yourself.

    what a rude thing to say. i understand that maybe poeple shouldnt be calling that family, but to say that i am a vigilante who cant think for myself, is so disrespectful. perhaps you, Trench, should learn to control your words and not pass judgement on others so quickly. Just because you wouldnt do it, dosent mean that your any better. How offensive!

    I should pull out my daggers…No, Surely Not. I think it’s in bad taste to call a family who is mourning or grieving if i don’t know them, or if i don’t want to be positive influence. And by the way Trench, your articles are great to read and i enjoy them.
    the last lines of this one i think are not necessary. it makes me want to say something like “Geeze, Tell me how you really feel?” and took away from your article, i thought. Yes, stupid, Tacky people.
    This news of misfortune fell on me. BAM! right on the front of MSN homepage. The direction of your last two sentences brought harm not help.

    i think that the peopleyou did mean it for, wont know that it was meant for them, but instead if given the chance to call, say, Miss. Lindsay, they would do it again, in a heartbeat. Idiots! they are everywhere.
    if i had wanted to call, i wouldnt have called to harrass but to inquire, and if the family had received 300 calls, that is 290 more than i would have taken, before i turned off the phone and called the police or phone company. People lack common sence more and more in the days of PC’s.
    This is such a tender subject to me. i dont like tragic stories of this nature, that consume my thoughts and the only way to find peace of mind, is to pray. to me it seems, since your phone number had once been mistaken for a Columbine Shooter, a little personal aggression is coming out, right there…

    It was actually a website not my phone number but that’s not it. When the Megan Meier story broke people were harassing the Drews and while I have no love for the Drews it struck me as hypocritical that people were outraged over her bullying but yet were doing the exact same thing to her.

    I do appologige for the accusation of the phone number. i must have read that wrong.
    Until now, i hadent heard about Miss Meirer, and that is truely a very sad story.
    I think the callers, may and may not have been harrassing. If the familys phone is blowing up, i mean, after the fourth death threat, i would seek answers and be angry that i got tied up in this monstrosity. Of Course! if someone on the other end of the line started off with something peaceful, id simply tell them its the wrong number.
    this story took, like a wildfire combined with gusting winds. hitting news stands across the world, bombarding our society with hatred and then authorities telling us there is more to the story and its worse than what they had shown but its not to be disclosed to the public, even though its a matter of “public record?”…thats preposterous. why even tell us? why would the authorities allow such a leak to escape if it was going to be shut down anyway?
    If authories would have handled this issue with a little more class, dignity and sensitivity, instead of using this as an attempt for some sort of small town, law recognition, perhaps people would’nt behave SO badly. Maybe thats my wishful thinking.
    people often get upset with what they dont know or understand things, im sure you already know that. if people knew all of what was really going on, they wouldnt be so confused and feel the need to “have to know more” since the internet isnt providing all the answers.

    My heart bleeds for the poor Drews and the poor bullies that beat Victoria. I don’t think it is hypocritical to give someone a taste of their own medicine. Sometimes the only way to win is to “stoop to their level”. I find it disturbing that you are so quick to pass judgement on EVERYONE that you do an article about but feel you have the right to be anyone’s moral compass.

    Of course opinions are free and anyone can have one.
    i didnt think about feeling bad for the Drew’s until Mel said something. They will have to live with that for the rest of their lives, knowing they helped distroy an innocent, misguided girl. So will the girls who beat Victoria. maybe we can make them watch the video infront of a crowd of booing people but something that i am wondering is, why aren’t there official reports of what Miss. Lindsay was saying, other than the …sl*t..and kicking butt stuff. Kayla said in the video she cheated with Tori’s boyfriend, twice..didnt it? i think they all should be sent to a military correctional custody facility for 90 days and let a few big, mean women and men, yell and scream in their faces for 3 months.
    Tori should go for 30 days. thats what i think because, i bet, what she said was terrible and completely offensive. LoL High School Drama?

    I agree.. How can anyone justify calling and harassing/ making death threats to a family all because their child was involved in a fight?(not saying it was right) but how does that make you any better than them… Come on folks use a little common sense.

    I can’t believe what I am reading. A girl is still recovering from a CUCUSION, LOST VISION IN HER LEFT EYE AND HER HEARING, and you’re asking people to not make phone calls to the parents. These parents obviously raised animals. Maybe people should start looking at the parents. I have not been lucky or gifted with 3 teenage boys who would have STOPPED that beating no I RAISED 3 teenage boys who would have STOPPED that beating. If a young person is that animalistic to beat someone unconscious, and then continue to beat her, there were signs that should have been addressed by a parent. By the way 2 of the teenagers have prior arrest for assault. YEA &ndash it&rsquos the parents fault and they should be held accountable. If people want to express their disgust with a phone call, maybe the parents should feel grateful they don&rsquot have to endure what their offspring&rsquos did to a helpless person, because they were pissed off.
