Alenson didn’t know his attacker

Principal: No Evidence Slain Teen Knew Attacker:

The principal of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, John M. Ritchie, addressed a group of parents at the school auditorium Thursday night. He stated that there was no pre-existing relationship between accused killer John Odgren and his victim James Alenson. So all of those claiming bullying as Odgren’s motive can stick that in your crack pipes.

Now it says the stabbing started as an altercation. How do we know that John Odgren didn’t start that altercation? If he’s going to claim that Asperger’s caused him to kill James Alenson the prosecution can also claim that it caused him to kill James Alenson unprovoked.

An insanity plea can work both ways.

Okay a few problems I see here. First and foremost you seem to think that all bullied kids strike back against their bulliers. Let me propose a scenerio John Odgren was in an uptight state (wouldn’t you be if you were once again in the same place as so many other bullyings) and went to the bathroom to relax before school. James walks in and sees Jack freaking out and says something (it wouldn’t take much) to make him mad, probably not even trying to bully him. Jack thus gets in an arguement and has an EED episode (which were quite documented with him) and the rest is history. Is that not a plausible scenerio from the evidence so far?

Now next I know what your thinking, you are wanting me to prove it. But that leads me directly to my second point. It is the prosecutions responsiblity to prove that isn’t what happened not the defenses responsibility to prove it is. Where is the evidence that proves that isn’t what happened?

Lastly, Jack doesn’t have to prove he did it provocated he just has to prove that he had an EED episode that is quite common with younger aspies and is not responsible for his actions. I know that goes against your sense of justice and I appolgise for that but well… thats the law.

I don’t care. If this dude isn’t aware of his actions, that means he can do it again. And again. And again. He should be locked up. I know that’s not how it’s going to work, but it’s my opinion.

And yeah, whats with all these kids killing kids that had nothing to do with anything? If I was to go on a murdering rampage, i’d at least kill someone whom I had a problem with. Retards.

Once again you call aspies (or at least an aspie) retards. You really need to stop that. How many times do I have to tell you almost all aspies were like that at one point or another. Does that mean we should all be locked up for life, or did you just mean he should be locked up until he is no longer a threat to society (remember all aspies were once a slight threat), in that case I agree.

Ahhhhhhhh overly sensitive Exhalted Ignored One. I would think that a second year community college standout such as yourself could figure out that “retards” in the post above by Dana, is a reference to those who CAN’T see the idiocy of making excuses for kids that kill…not the “aspies” as you call them. WOW are you sensitive. And I believe that YOU called ME retarded once for not correctly reading and understanding something posted here….hmmmmmmmm. Well hello retarded brother -)

I love how you didn’t try saying my theory of the crime doesn’t make sense. Maybe you are starting to realize that you can’t debate me like a man so you are resorting to childish insults… how sweet :).

Well come on now…where is Dana’s apology???? I gave one when demanded of me when I realized I had made an error…we’re waiting. Let’s see…how does it go? Oh yeah…I believe you said something like:

“Retards like him NEVER apologise for anything (note canadien spelling of apologise even…I’m so damn good. ALso note spelling of canadien as all my canadien friends seem to prefer it….I should be a damn professor at a community college or something).

Any exhalted ignored one…I’m just taking my cues from you. You seem to feel free to toss out “retarded” and “dumbass” when people don’t agree with you. Besides…feel good about it. If I’m “retarded” then you are in good company being “retarded” with me. Many people aspire to my level of retardedness but never attain it no matter how hard they try…so if I call you retarded…you might want to take it as a complement.

Now get back to school and work on those reading comprehension skills so you can stop jumping to conclusions by taking what other people write out of context.

Ahhhhhh….I feel better now…back to “ignore” with you…until it pleases me. 🙂

Ummm you still haven’t bothered to argue my theory of the crime… maybe you should do that before you go on your rants like you do.

Well I am fromt that town. James Aleson was a kind funny nice kid. He was also a quite kid. John on the other hand had no friends and he wore the weirds shit to school. He talked about killing everyday. (Why dident anyone tell on him or something!?!) James was also new to the school. So it probubly was that when James walked into the B-room he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. John was proubly tomrmeted so much from other students in the school. That he said that Iam going to kill some one 2 day. It happen to be the most inicent kid probuly in the school.

I dont know them really at all. I just now that these things are all true becuase every one is saying that. Eveb the kids that know/seen James and John. Also I dont even know her daughter who is in my grade.

I hope that John goes to jail for life. I dont thing it was his stupid Ashberhers. Cause if he was like that every day well……

    James Aleson Rest in peace!!

I agree with your last statement but let me ask you… Did you try making friends with John? Did you stick up for him when he was being tormented? Did you tell someone what he said so he could get greated before this happpened? This is a case of the entire community failing John and I don’t think locking him away and throwing away the key will do any good in this case.

  10. kyle Avatar

I didnet now him I am in the middle school and going in to LS. John dient even have any freinds I think. I dont know if any one stuck up for him well he was being tormented or not. I dont think any one really did anything about how he was talking or anything they just yeah w/e. People in this town are pist. And they want him gone. Like I said it was not his illness. It was his personalty cause he would do this everywhere talk about killing and stuff ( from what I have herd but still it could be a rumur or soemthing) I still think he should go to jail for life. This towm will never be the same casue it is allso I very quite town and almost every one knows everyone. It is not “Ghetto” at all. So thats why it is such a big deal (if anyone asks or says something). But yeah. It prubly wont do anygood just locking him away but he should not be let back out in socity agian every. get some help or something but still go to jail. IDK.

Maybe the town never being the same again is a good thing. Maybe they will start to look at special needs kids being tourmented (God knows my town never did.)

You say it is not his illness but yet he has a past history of explosive episodes, add a knife to an explosive episodes and this could be what you get.

Maybe he just talked about killing people to get them to leave him alone? I did several times. Not saying thats right but when you are being tourmented everyday threatening people is generally seen as a productive method without hurting anyone.

And why give him help if you are never going to release him? If he gets over these explosive episodes shouldn’t he get the chance to return to society.

I’d like to give James “a chance to return to society”. Aww, shucks, he’s dead… Murdered actually…

It’s great the way you try to turn this against Sudbury, “Maybe they [Sudbury residents] will start to look at special needs kids being tormented”. Really nice the way you want to make Sudbury – the town that actually embraced John – the murderer – in its naive and welcoming midst.

Lock him up. He can get treatment in jail.

  13. Endersdragon Avatar
    Endersdragon

If they embraced him why was he “tormented”, why was he bulled, why was he alone? He like most other aspies out there was made to feel alone by the town, maybe not everyone treated him poorly but everyne that could have intervened turned a blind eye.

Yes I agree that he should be locked up… for now. We don’t give treatment to people locked away forever. Heck, in my personal opinion James was killed by society in general. The people that watched as John spiraled into oblivian deserve plenty of blame for James’ death.

Bet the Sudbury resisidents wouldn’t give a **** if John had killed himself like I am sure he wanted to. Sure there might be a day of two of morning, then the bullies would dedouble their efforts on some other weak kid and all would return to normal.

Your right societies never killed before. But anyway disregarding if society can kill or not John was put into a hostile situation that he wasn’t prepared for, he wasn’t properly taught how to control his anger, and you put a knife in his hand (or at least let him have it) what the **** do you expect to happen? I am personally suprised he didn’t use that knife to slit his throught though I suppose theres still time.

I love how you didn’t bother to refute anything I else I said like Sudbury residents wouldn’t have given a damn had he killed himself. Shows me how kindhearted you really are.

  15. Trench Avatar

But he didn’t kill himself. He killed James Aleson. “What if” scenarios are irrelevant.

  16. Endersdragon Avatar
    Endersdragon

Not totally, I am sure there was a bullycide in that area within the past few years, it didn’t change peoples attitudes about bullying much and look what happens here. How many kids have to kill themselves and others before people start to pay attention, how many have done it so far?

I want Jared High, April Himes, Jeffery Johnston, Jessica Haffer, Corrine Sides, Ryan Halligan, Cassie Gielecki, Matt Epling, Julian Houts, Kristina Calco, Brandon Startwood, Desire’ Dreyer, and all the others to be able to return to society, sadly that can never happen I will settle for John.

PS You never did tell me what you expected to happen in that situation.

  17. Trench Avatar

In my personal opinion James was killed by society in general

Yes, we must stop society before it kills again. Sarcasm again by the way.

Blaming “society” is the biggest cop out ever.

“When my boy died, there was a memorial service held for him, and at the school a big piece of paper was placed on his hall locker for the students to sign and say goodbye,” Bill Taylor said. “A lot of them wrote that they thought Curtis was a nice person. But I could only think, where were you kids? Why weren’t you his friends?” (http://www.jewishworldreview.com/bob/greene031901.asp)

If you still believe society can’t kill I think that is an interesting article. Society has killed before and it will kill again.

At what point do we look to much at personal responsibility and even parental responsibility ignoring the fact that the society has a responsibility to see that these kids that need to be protected are protected and this sort of **** doesn’t happen.

As long as we only look at the end results this will happen again and again.

  19. Trench Avatar

You can never look “too much” at personal responsibility.

  20. Endersdragon Avatar
    Endersdragon

So your saying society has no responsibility to protect kids from being bullied? That the 13 kids I have mentioned so far are all completely responsible for their own deaths. That is pretty much the way it is seen now, that is why I think we look to much at personal responsibility.

  21. Dana Avatar
    Dana

I think society has a responsibility to protect kids from bullying to an extent. But it’s also a personal problem and I think kids should find ways of protecting themselves from this problem (without homicide).

    Don’t get sad, get revenge.
