Sex Offenders Accused of Abusing Teen They Met on MySpace:
Two Iowa sex offenders have been arrested for sexual abuse charges for having sex with a 14-year-old girl they met through MySpace. Scott Seehawer and Winston Ramsdale took the girl from her home to theirs. Both of them were already on Iowa’s sex offender registry.
I wasn’t able to find a MySpace for Sreehawer but I did find one for Ramsdale. His profile says he wants children someday. Apparently, he couldn’t wait.
Does anyone else see this as evidence of why sex offender registries don’t work?
If a sex offender is going to reoffend, what is the likelihood he’s going to do it in his own backyard?
And if he IS going to travel outside his neighborhood to re-offend, then how does the registry protect anyone?
And what good did it do in this case…even though the alleged re-offense happened in the neighborhood where he was registered?
Keep in mind…I’m not saying penalties shouldn’t be harsher for re-offenders. They should be, but a lack of registration does not preclude increased penalties.

these guys really was told that she was 20 and it’s wrong to judge them for something that she lied about.
i know this girl and the men….they knew how old she was…even though she lied…maybe you should gets your facts right!
