Petitioners seek juvenile trial for Eric Hainstock

Petitioners: Hainstock is not an adult:

217 petitioners from as far away as Italy are appealing to prosecutors to have Eric Hainstock tried as a juvenile. If you recall, Hainstock was arrested for the shooting and killing Weston Schools principal John Klang. The petitioners argue that since Hainstock was 15 at the time of the shooting that his brain was not fully developed and did not have the ability to make “good judgments”. I argue that the petitioners’ brains aren’t fully developed. Any 15-year-old knows that killing someone is against the law and will get you put in jail. Then again, consider the source. These are the same people who felt Eric Schorling was just misunderstood.

Wisconsin law states that a 15-year-old that commits first-degree murder receives a mandatory trial as an adult. They can be tried as a juvenile under special circumstances, but in my opinion, those circumstances do not apply to Hainstock. Hainstock had an abusive father, but he didn’t shoot his father. He shot a man who was just trying to do his job. John Klang’s family no longer have him in their lives. Justice demands that Hainstock is removed from society. Let’s bring back personal responsibility to the world.

    217 petitioners? 217??? THAT’S ALL???? LMAO

    I’m amazed because Madison, Wisconsin is as liberal as they come and I would think they could find A LOT more than 217 willing to plead the case for this little piece of human debris.

    And you should know better than to say, “personal responsibility” Trench. There are way too many people out there that don’t seem to think that anyone is personally responsible for anything…except perhaps the victims of these crimes. I mean seriously…WHAT was that man thinking? A principal of a school…how disgusting…he deserved what he got.

    I guess I better add that the last comment was meant in complete sarcasm for the small percentage of readers you have who don’t understand what sarcasm is. Of course I’m sure that the same readers who don’t understand sarcasm will probably agree with my last statement .

    I just don’t comment as regularly as I used to. It’s gets old saying the same old thing over and over again:

    “Hey dumbasses….stop shooting and killing each other. It’s freaking high school.” None of it will matter 2 years after you graduate. If you do kill someone…I hope you get butt-raped repeatedly in prison. If you want to kill some people and then kill yourself….be a man and just kill yourself and leave everyone else alone.”

    There’s only so many ways to say that message : )

    I love seeing people argue for the torture of kids, really shows where you stand in society. Though in the words of Mystique, “It’s people like you that made me afraid to go to school as a child”, (and yes I understand the irony of me quoting a “mutant”). I suppose Shawn Hornbecks past 4 years won’t matter 2 years from now either?

    LMAO…yeah…I’m pretty sure that I was an intimidating bully type at 5’7″ and 125lbs as a senior.

    At that size, I had to deal a few bullies…and guess what? I didn’t feel the need to shoot or stab anyone. And guess what else? If you are worried over what happened to you in high school as an adult, you need to grow up and get over it )

    And yeah…Shawn’s past 4 years WILL matter 2 years from now…because of choices HE made. In fact, it will NOW be with him for the rest of his life. Odds are, if he had handled it in a different way, then I would be correct and it wouldn’t have mattered to him 2 years after the fact…but…he can now expect to pay an adult penalty for committing an adult crime…as it should be. If being imprisoned for murder is your definition of torture then yeah…I’m ALL for it.

    What would you suggest? Give him a doughnut and ask him to stick closer to church oriented social activities? Maybe a little pat on the head….”hey…it’s all right little buddy. We know you shot an innocent man with a family but we are sympathetic and understand that you have anger and self-esteem issues so it really isn’t your fault you poor poor child. Maybe you should get on the internet and you can find a bunch of other little self-absorbed, unmotivated, self-pitying losers and you can feed off each other and talk about how unfair life is and then do nothing to change your life and you guys can just have a big old self-pity party. Well…we’ll just let you go now and please don’t shoot anymore innocent people…oh…and here….have a doughnut on your way out.”

    Are you really that retarded or do you just not watch the news (heck by now you would have had to had your fingers in your ears for the past week.) I said Shawn HORNBECK not Shawn Hainstock, big difference. Thank you in Always but I doubt he will appolgise to me he isn’t that type of guy (in other words he is a retard.)

    Also you didn’t just say you wanted him prision but you basically said give him to the general population to do what they will with him, that is torture. And I don’t know what I would suggest, I just am uncomfortable with giving an abused special education student a life sentence. No doubt punishment is needed but you are going way overboard.

    And I doubt you had to deal with very many bullies, you certainly didn’t cry yourself to sleep night after night. If you did you would know that it takes a hell of alot longer (maybe forever) for those sorts of wounds to heal.

    You were talking about bullies then all of a sudden you think I’m talking about Shawn Hornbeck. Do you have ADD too? Once I got out of high school I left my bullies behind and never gave it a second thought.

    As far as your friend is concerned I’m going to be polite and not say what I really think but I will say this. 6 months doesn’t compare to 12 years.

    I am talking about people who went threw 4 years of torture, and I was talking about Hornbeck up there, you must have missed that too.

    And you must be really lucky to get over it quite quickly, I know so many students that have been bullied that still never have gotten over it, and I really don’t think they are weak about it. Me personally I have flashbacks and dreams of it, hard to not have problems with it then.

    And just admit it you think Brendas kid is weak, just say it.

    From a teacher’s POV:
    It’s bad enough that schools have to deal with such bad, disrespectful, and violent behavior without having to worry about a kid bringing guns to school. Last year in my county 9 guns were brought to school(that they caught). Countless knives were confiscated one right down the hall from me in my own middle school. A month ago, a 7th grade kid shot at a moving vehicle outside a high school here. I don’t care HOW bad bullying…*whatever* gets – murder is not an appropriate response!

    Principals, teachers, support staff, students, etc. should not have to fear for their lives so kids with no obvious parentage, morals or self-control can come to school.

    Anymore, I might as well be a cop. So much for “highly qualified teachers”.

    Though you are right in that you shouldn’t have to worry about that kind of stuff many students that you probably included there have to worry about stuff that you could stop. What I mean by this is maybe if you teachers paid more attention to the bullying maybe there would be less guns. Cause and effect you know.

    Every year 100s of youngsters kill themselves, they just get so tired of the situation around them that they do that. Sadly none of them get national attention and the people around them say it was a tragic end to a life of an obviously disturbed kid. In otherwords nobody gives a fuck about the cause then.

    I am taking a college course on terriorism now, it is quite good and one of the things we are learning about now is how and when it has worked. While I hate to call school shooters terriorists I think you will understand my logic. These students have been picked on, abused, and just made to feel like inferior people by all of those around them. Many of them fight back in conventional ways and even sometimes get killed innocently (I don’t consider a bullycide a suicide at all) but no one gives a damn. It is only once they strike back in unconventional ways that people start to think about this because of the inherient violence in it.

    Its the same sort of thing that happened in many terriorist campaigns back in the 50s and 60s (Isreal and Algeria spring immedately to mind). Now note I am not trying to say that what they are doing is right, though it might just be natural for them to evolve this way. Just some food for thought.

I guess if I was one of your “causes”, it would be legitimate grounds (at least in your view) to hunt you down and kill you…but since I’m not one of your “causes”…I can take a few insults and shrug them off and go on with my day as if it never happened : ) See how easy it is?     And no…I’m far from “retarded”…just sick and tired of the bleeding hearts and apologists who have more sympathy for the perps of murder than for the victims.

    Lock ’em up…throw away the key…and let them do whatever to each other that they wish…as long as they do it in “there’ and not out here where the rest of us normal, non-murdering, folks are. Mental illness or not…once demonstrated that you can’t control yourself and are a danger to those around you, you should be removed from the rest of us completely and forever therefore ensuring a repeat of the act will not be possible. Common sense I would think.

    If so…I’m sorry that I didn’t realize that you weren’t talking about the same Shawn that was the subject of this thread. Not that there is any relevance to this kid being kidnapped by a freak and some kid who thinks that bullying is a reason to kill innocent people…but whatever.

    I wasn’t aware that you were discussing 2 different “shawns” and I guess if that makes me “retarded”…then so be it….LOL.

    Okay now that I have gotten that over with I wonder what do you do to help those kids that are at risk of falling into this hole before they do get there?

    Do you engage in any anti-bullying campaigns so there are no more people like Andy Williams? Do you help with child abuse prevention so there are no more Cody Poseys? Do you protest corporations like Zoloft giving drugs to kids to prevent kids like Christopher Pittman? Or is saying lock them up and throw away the key once they get to a point which you could have prevented them from getting to enough for you, I am assuming it is.

    I’ll ask again (as in the other thread)…isn’t THAT what got your poor fragile little psyche all screwed up in the first place? Not very sensitive to bullying, threatening, and name calling for a suppossed traumatized victim are you? I’ll give you one more shot…but if you can’t discuss without resorting to grade school level name calling (is that seriously where you are stuck at?) then I’ll consider continued dialogue with you a waste of time. Insulting and name calling does NOTHING to further your cause or point of view…in fact…all it does it confirm the notions that I already have.

    And no…I don’t do all those things that you mentioned because that isn’t my life’s passion? Do YOU coach mentally handicap children to play softball and run track? Do YOU volunteer at the local animal shelter? Do YOU coach your daughter’s softball team? Do YOU volunteer at your daughter’s school twice a week to teach advanced reading and math to elementary children? Of course you don’t. Who cares.

    I find it hard to believe you would take time out of your life to help a special needs kid. You don’t seem like the type seeing as how you are eager to excuse bullying. I think if you would fight it instead of saying it is nothing you could do some good.

    See I think anyone who goes with the lock them away and throw away the key stradegy inevitably hurts our society. Look at Thomas White who shows a strong desire to get better and then turn around and help others get better, but can still end up serving 15 years with an adult record (something extremely hard to get over, especcially to work with kids like he desires).

    Now yes I know what your are thinking, “but what about all the other kids who will see this as inspiration.” But theres a serious flaw there, let me let you in on a little secret… kids don’t watch news… go figure. I have yet to see an epidemic of kids killing their parents because Cody Posey got off light (and I would assume most people couldn’t tell me who Cody Posey was despite several primetime specials being devoted to him).

    There are kids who snap and it has been proven time and time again that a childs mind is more impulsive then an adults mind with less of a sense of right and wrong. But yet you want to thow away these kid’s lives… adding more victims to the pile. So far there have been over 2,500 added, I don’t think that will stop any time soon.

    And alas no I am still in college without a car or any sort of income so it is pretty hard for me to get off campus to help out. Though I am looking to work at the local four-oaks (as I think that is an Iowa thing it is the local foster care place). I also looked at working at Tanager Place, a local psycatric hospital but they will only take people on, on internship basis which as I am taking 5 classes right now…

    Though it is also important to mention I am getting my teaching certificate and strongly considering going to grad school to get my certificate in special education to work with kids like me (with disorders like autism, asperger’s, ODD, and the like.) I also plan to adopt a/some (maybe even foster care) kids with similiar disabilies, not that I wouldn’t want to work with more severe ones, just that I probably don’t think I can. In fact I want to now which is why I am volunteering figuring that is the next best thing.
