Family Of Murdered Teen Ask For Witnesses To Come Forward:

As police search for the killer of a Brooklyn teenager, her family is asking for any witnesses to come forward.

Chanel Petro-Nixon’s body was found June 22nd inside a bag on Kingston Avenue in Crown Heights. The medical examiner has determined she was strangled.

“Somebody out there knows something that led to what happened to Chanel,” said the Reverend Al Sharpton. “I don’t care if they’re black, latino, white. You must come forward. We can’t have community where our children go out with the garbage and we act like it’s normal and remain silent.”

Police are offering a $22,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

As much as I hate to admit it, Al Sharpton is right.

    I believe that a super should be looked into. Perhaps that is why he was able to grab her quickly, could have wanted her for years, and possibly could have been why he had access to the “Industrious Size Garbage Bag”.

    In addition that is why he was a “Super” for both buildings like Supers often are.

    I am originally from brooklyn n.y prospect place this really saddened me to hear something happen to any one but a girl just like myself at 16 years old I ask God right now that he reveal to the world who did this horrific crime :'( :'(

    The loss of Chanel is another sad indictment of much of what is wrong in society. Sadly, every day 2,100 children go missing in the USA.

    My name is Lisa Kendall and i went to elementary and high school with her. I knew her for so long and loosing a close friend like her is really heart breaking. Everyone that knew her as a child growing up would say the same. But it hurt me more because in CS21, when we were kids, everyone knew that we were like best friends and it hurt me alot to know someone has taken her from us. It’ll never be the same for me without my best friend Chanel. R.I.P
