New Red Lake suspect in court

RED LAKE INCIDENT: Student appears for alleged threats:

The suspect in the most recent threat against Red Lake High School has appeared in court…

DULUTH – A Red Lake (Minn.) High School student being held in connection with recent threats at the school where seven people were killed last year appeared Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Duluth, according to a newspaper report.

The Star Tribune of Minneapolis said the nature of the 10-minute, closed-door hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Raymond Erickson was not revealed. The identity of the boy also was not revealed.

Several members of the boy’s family attended the hearing but did not share details afterward. The boy appeared expressionless as authorities led him from the courtroom with his hands cuffed behind his back, the newspaper reported.

There’s something eerie about the fact that they’re keeping such a tight lid on this.

You’re telling me! I live in Minnesota–and I haven’t heard a thing!! I’m not sure but the tribal leader’s son Louis Jourdain is alledgedly involved –maybe this is him?
(I said maybe–not trying to spread ruomors)

I don’t think it is, Moonsong. Louis Jourdain has already been tried for his alleged involvement in the original shootings.

It can’t be Jourdain, I think he’s actually in some type of treatment facility right now. I’m not 100% sure, but the last article I read said that.

Man, so many kids out there need help. I can’t believe someone from a school where eight people tragically died and many others wounded would threaten that. I don’t care if it’s a joke or not. Don’t people have friends? Isn’t counceling available? Parents/teachers, what’s being taught here?

Unfortunately I don’t think Columbine is going to “take the record” of being the “biggest school shooting in US history” for too much longer. Look at what has been going on lately.

    God bless our schools. :/

@Moonsong: whereabouts in MN are you located? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

โ€œI advise no one to place his child where the Scriptures do not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not increasingly occupied with the Word of God must become corrupt. Iโ€™m afraid the schools will prove the very gates of hell, unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures and engraving them in the hearts of our youth.โ€

โ€œThe United States system of national popular education will be the most efficient and wide instrument for the propagation of Atheism which the world has ever seen.โ€ โ€“ A.A. Hodge

โ€œThe school system that ignores God, teaches its pupils to ignore God and this is not neutrality. It is the worst form of antagonism, for it judges God to be unimportant and irrelevant in human affairs. This is atheism.โ€ โ€“ Gordon H. Clark, (1902 โ€“1985) American Philosopher and Theologian

โ€œWe are being taxed to support schools that are systematically liquidating our most cherished beliefs.โ€

I don’t like god… not him as himself, but rather the idea of him and the desperate need for people to think that their relationship with him should be how other should view him also.

These people who tell me “the problem with the world is that god is being forgotten” drive me nuts.

The God for you is not the god for me and this nation may have been founded by mostly Christians… but it was also built on the foundation that religion is to be separate from everything else. That law not only gives you the right to worship without fear of reprise, but protects me from having to be told that I NEED YOUR god.

That is why I rolled my eyes.

Now there you go Jim, you have forced me to have to pray for you. MY God is YOUR God, hopefully one day you will realize this.

I have never heard or seen slime bring people up and out of terrible situations, however I have seen repeatedly the power of fatih do this…..MANY times. Why would you be so against people holding onto perhaps the only thing they know to be true (for themselves personally) to bring them through “desperate” times? This again proves to me your ignorance in FAITH….A persons faith is an internal act. It is nothing they can give you or teach you as it can only come through personal conviction.

Now when it comes to public school and religion….granted I realize that one religion can not be taught. But to teach that religion (of any sort) is not real and not worthy in the process of life is as big of an atrocity as teaching kids they must believe in one certain religion. This does not teach tolerance and perhaps is one reason you yourself can not tolerate BELIEVERS and they “drive you nuts”?!

I mean why the hell would we leave one of the greatest people in history, regardless of belief or not, out of text books? Or do you deny that a man named Jesus Chrsit ever existed?
