Trio to plead not guilty over DVD attack:

Alleged victim to appear at DVD trial:

Three suspects in the infamous Werribee, Australia sexual assault DVD intend to plead not guilty when they return to court in December. This ought to be good considering the suspects were caught on videotape, but it’s not like the court is going out of its way to actually punish these criminals.

To make matters worse, attorneys for some of the suspects are planning on questioning the victim under cross-examination. Normally, I would say that tactic may work against them, but again, the courts aren’t bending over backwards to punish these teenage rapists.

Thanks to Alan for the tip.

Hurricane police arrest rape suspect who met alleged victim on MySpace.com:

Police In Hurricane, Utah arrested 21-year-old David R. Miller (no MySpace found) on rape charges. Miller met his 18-year-old victim on MySpace after she had recently moved to the area to attend school.

The victim told police she had numerous on-line conversations with the suspect and the two agreed to meet. They drove to a remote location in Hurricane City, where the reported rape occurred.

The alleged suspect was located and interrogated a few days later. Det. Raleigh Morris arrested 21-year-old David R. Miller on one count of rape and one count of forcible sodomy, both first class felonies. Miller was booked into Purgatory Correctional Facility on Aug. 28.

Purgatory doesn’t quite sound enough. I wish it was called the Hell Correctional Facility myself.

    Update on Dunbar Village suspects

DNA evidence led to teens in Dunbar Village rape:

One of the suspects in the Dunbar Village gang rape has confessed to his involvement once the police confronted him with the DNA evidence that placed him at the crime scene.

During a six-hour interview with police, Avion Lawson, 14, the first to be charged in the case, confessed his involvement after being told his DNA was inside a condom found in the victim’s home. En route to the Juvenile Assessment Center, Lawson called some friends and did not sound remorseful, according to police. His lawyer, Bert Winkler, declined to comment on the evidence.

Next up is one of his accomplices, Nathan Walker…

The next to be charged was Nathan Walker, a 16-year-old who dropped out of the seventh grade after three attempts to pass. Walker’s latent fingerprint was found at the scene along with his DNA on the outside of the same condom linked to Lawson, according to the documents.

Walker became so agitated at the police station that he had to be placed in handcuffs and leg restraints after he began throwing chairs at the walls and door, according to documents. His lawyer, Robert Gershman, has asked for a mental health evaluation of his client.

How the hell did his DNA get on the outside of the same condom that Lawson used? Scratch that. I don’t really want to know.

And now the best part, if there can be a best part in this twisted saga. 15-year-old Jakaris Taylor caught hell from his mother over his involvement.

Jakaris Taylor, 15, was arrested July 12. A resident of Dunbar Village, he said his brother played with the 12-year-old victim, though Taylor denied ever being in the apartment. His mother, Jacqueline Minor, encouraged Taylor to give police a DNA sample. Lab results showed Taylor’s latent print inside the home, near Lawson’s and Walker’s.

Minor was livid at her son, according to police.

“Jacqueline yelled at Jakaris and told him she hoped he would never get one night of sleep and that he sees [the victims] every night when he tries to sleep,” a report stated.

Such a refreshing change from the usual “not my kid” syndrome.

Boyfriend of Dunbar gang rape victim speaks out:

The boyfriend of the mother who was one of the victims in the Dunbar Village gang rape speaks out and tells us the condition of the boy who was forced to have sex with his mother.

The victim of a reported gang rape is working hard to deal with what happened, but her 12-year-old son is not faring quite as well, according to the woman’s boyfriend.

“She goes to counseling with the little boy,” the 36-year-old said. “The boy, he’s still grieving. He cannot accept that he had sex with his mama. Nobody can talk to him. He feels like nobody loves him. I don’t think there’s no way that little boy is ever going to forget that.”

He and the child’s mother have been trying to prepare the 12-year-old for the seventh grade, which starts today

“He wanted his mama to go to school with him,” he said. “He’s afraid to be by himself. He’s going to go to school, but he’s just not happy.”

I can’t even imagine the trauma this poor boy is going through. Whatever punishment the animals that did this to them receive will never be enough to make up for what they did to this family.

Possible motive in Dunbar Village rape

Untold details of horror unfold in new report on Dunbar attack:

Here is allegedly the motive as to why a gang of thugs gang-raped a mother and forced her to have sex with her son…

“She believed they were targeted because she called the police some time ago because three people threw garbage around her apartment complex,” according to the report.

That, and she would not allow her son to associate with residents of another apartment in her building.

Take this whatever way you want, but these thugs are nothing more than savages that should be removed from society anyway possible.

4th teen indicted in West Palm Beach gang rape of mom, son:

18-year-old Tommy Lee Poindexter has been arrested and indicted as the fourth suspect in the horrendous Dunbar Village gang rape.

“He has denied any involvement but the physical evidence we have from the scene speaks to the contrary,” police spokesman Peter Robbins said Friday. “We’re certainly developing more suspects and anticipate more arrests.”

Poindexter’s mother, Harriet Rogers, 44, said her son was home with her on the night of the attack.

“My son didn’t have anything to do with that stuff,” Rogers said.

And a mother has never lied for her criminal son before, I’m sure.

    Werribee teens plead guilty

Werribee DVD youths plead guilty, avoid jail:

Seven of the teens from Werribee, Australia who filmed themselves sexually assaulting a mildly developmentally challenged girl have pleaded guilty. If you remember, the suspects also sold the DVD, entitled C*nt: The Movie, to their classmates over MySpace. Let me refresh your memory…

The DVD was shot in June last year when the 17-year-old girl, who has mild developmental delay, was taken by the youths to the edge of the Werribee River.

It includes footage of the sexual act, of men urinating on the girl and throwing a cup of urine on her. It also shows them setting her hair alight three times.

They throw her top and jacket into the river and tell her: “You’re walking home topless.”

You would think the judge would throw the book at them. Not so. Since they have pleaded guilty, they will avoid any jail time and will be sent to an “adolescent sexual rehabilitation program”.

    Let’s hear from the judge…

The judge said the youths’ guilty plea was a strong indication of their remorse.

“The idea is that the defendants now have some rehabilitation and education in how not to treat women,” the judge said.

Personally, I think the judge let them off way too easy. I think the only thing they’re remorseful about is that they got caught.

However, I want to hear from my Aussie readers to see what they feel about the sentence. Is it enough?

Thanks to Alan for the tip.

Indictments in Dunbar Village gang rape

Teens ordered held without bond in Dunbar Village rape case:

Yesterday the three teenage scumbags, Avion Lawson, 14, Nathan Walker Jr., 16, and Jakaris Taylor, 15, were indicted by a grand jury yesterday in the atrocious gang rape at Dunbar Village in West Palm Beach, Florida. The grand jury indicted them as adults. So, according to the article, the judge could not impose a youthful offender sentence. I doubt the judge would anyway unless he wanted to be run out of town.

Bond was also denied for the little monsters, since they are charged with felonies that carry life sentences.

This is how hardcore the prosecution is…

State Attorney Barry Krischer has called the crime the worst he has seen in 35 years, and instructed prosecutors “not to negotiate with the defense and proceed to trial and seek the highest possible sentence,” Krischer spokesman Michael Edmondson said.

    …as it should be.

Let’s not forget that there are still other suspects still on the loose. I hope the police catch them soon with extreme prejudice.

    craigslist job interview gone wrong

Woman: Craigslist Ad Leads To Inappropriate Interview:

This is a new one to me, since people who place employment ads on craigslist have to actually pay for the ad. I guess you can’t even trust employment ads on the internet’s hive of scum and villainy.

PHILADELPHIA — A Conshohocken woman said she was just looking for work when an online ad on Craigslist caught her eye.

Aleshia Endy, 22, said she now hopes police catch the man who ran the ad.

“I thought it was a legit position. I really thought it was something, but now I’m grossed out,” Endy said.

Endy said the job ad on the nationwide Web site, Craigslist.com, appeared to be perfect for her.

“I responded to it, said apply for personal assistant/office manager, so I sent my picture and resume,” Endy said.

Endy said she later found out that when the author wrote “female preferred” and “obey instructions” in the ad, he meant it.

After responding to the ad, Endy called her potential employer, Eber Devine.

Endy said Devine told her he was moving from one office to another, so he wanted to set up the interview at the University of Pennsylvania campus at the Van Pelt Library.

“He met me outside. We went upstairs to where there’s, like, conference rooms,” Endy said.

Endy said, at first, everything seemed fine. She filled out an application and agreed to a background check, and he promised her a generous salary.

But right in the middle of the interview came the shocker.

“He told me, ‘I want you to stand up. Go walk around the room. Go stand in the corner. I want to look at your ass,’” Endy said.

Endy said she told him no, and when she started to walk away it became uncomfortable.

“He stood up. He came over and started touching my shoulders and my chest and got real close and started breathing on me heavily,” Endy said.

Endy said she pushed him away and left, but Devine had Endy’s cell phone number from the application and apparently was not finished talking.

“Yeah, Aleshia, I think you are an excellent candidate,” one message said.

“He called me about six times. I have it in my call log,” Endy said.

Endy contacted the NBC 10 Investigators and the police.

NBC 10’s Harry Hairston started looking into Devine’s background and found pages and pages of court records.

Court documents show Devine’s criminal history goes back as far as 1986.

NBC 10’s investigation turned up five different mug shots, some of which were taken between 2002 and December 2006.

The self-proclaimed CEO also has a laundry list of guilty pleas.

Records show he pleaded guilty to theft of leased property, unlawful use of a computer, forgery, and criminal conspiracy.

NBC 10 went to Devine’s Philadelphia home. The 38-year-old self-styled entrepreneur lives with his father.

Hairston asked Devine’s father if he knew anything about the ad on Craigslist.

    “That’s something he’s doing. He’s a grown man. I don’t know anything about it,” Devine’s father said.

Hours after the visit, Devine called NBC 10. He wouldn’t go on camera, but he did admit to placing the ad on Craigslist, claiming to be the CEO of his own company and interviewing Endy.

Devine denies anything inappropriate happened during the interview,

That may be for a court to decide. The district attorney’s Office has issued a warrant for his arrest.

He’s facing charges of sexual harassment, false imprisonment, indecent assault, unlawful restraint and burglary.

“I just want him off the streets. I want the women out there to know what kind of person he is. I want him off the streets,” Endy said.

Police said they are looking for Devine.

And a spokeperson for Craigslist said illegal activity is forbidden on Craigslist by the company’s terms of use, and is not welcome on the site.

I can almost see the craigslist spokesperson winking as they said that.
