  • Dane Abdool sentenced to death

Man Sentenced To Death For The Violent Killing Of Girlfriend:

Dane Abdool of Florida has been officially sentenced to death in the burning death of his girlfriend Amelia Sookdeo.

As you may know, Abdool wrapped his 17-year-old girlfriend in duct tape, threw her into a ditch, doused her in gasoline, and then set her on fire. Abdool became enraged after Amelia said she was pregnant. An autopsy later revealed she was not pregnant.

During the trial, Abdool claimed that he was just trying to scare her and the fire was an accident like that somehow makes it all better.

“May almighty God have mercy on your soul,” said Circuit Judge Lisa Munyon.

God may have mercy but hopefully, the state of Florida won’t.

    Jury Sentences Abdool To Death:

The jury that convicted Dane Abdool of setting his girlfriend on fire has recommended the death penalty.

As you may recall Abdool was accused of wrapping her in duct tape, dousing her in gasoline, then setting her on fire when she told him she was pregnant. Autopsy results stated she wasn’t pregnant at all.

It only took jurors four hours to hand down a guilty verdict.

Abdool is eligible for the death penalty.

  • Abdool trial continues

Trial Continues For Man Accused Of Burning Girlfriend Alive:

Yesterday in the trial of Dane Abdool an arson investigator testified that in his opinion Abdool intentionally set 17-year-old girlfriend Amelia Sookdeo on fire.

Monday, arson investigators told the jury that Abdool poured gasoline on his sometime-girlfriend Amelia Sookdeo pretty much from head to toe. Investigators said they found gasoline on her face, soaked through all of her clothing and her socks and shoes. They said that 80-percent of her body was burned and that Abdool removed the nozzle from the gas can he used so that the gasoline would pour out more quickly. Gloves were also found at the scene.

A State Fire Marshal investigator told the jury he believes it was an intentional burning because of all of the circumstances involved, including the fact that the arsonist would have had to have been close to the victim.

“The vapors coming off the gasoline would have been more defused out in the open making it more difficult to ignite,” state arson investigator Juan Bailey testified Monday, adding that the igniting device would have to be close to the gasoline to spark it.

Also according to the article, Abdool showed no emotion when shown pictures of Amelia’s charred remains. Well, what did they expect really?

  • Dane Abdool just panicked, that’s all

Murder trial hears how girl, 17, was burned to death:

Previously we’ve seen Dane Abdool try to claim that the burning death of his girlfriend, Amelia Sookdeo, was an accident.

Yeah, right. I’m sure he bound her in duct tape and doused her in gasoline by accident. He claims he was just trying to scare her.

However, during his trial, two witnesses claim that Abdool tried to hire them to kill Amelia after she told Abdool she was pregnant.

Two teenagers testified Thursday that Abdool at one point contacted them about killing Amelia because of the pregnancy. He offered one $400 to do it.

“I told him he was crazy,” said Julian Pinnock, who was 17 at the time. “I figured he was some spoiled rich kid.”

The tragedy of all this, prosecutors said, was that Amelia was not pregnant.

Abdool’s lawyer also claims he ‘panicked’ and left Amelia’s body in a ditch…

Defense attorneys told jurors that Abdool was there when Amelia died but it was an accident.

He panicked afterward, leaving her and went to wash his car, said Abdool’s attorney Trish Cashman.

I’m sure he wasn’t trying to cover anything up by washing his car.

I really hope the jury isn’t that stupid.

  • Trial of Dane Abdool starts

Man Accused Of Burning Girlfriend Heads To Trial:

Longtime readers may remember when I first posted about Dane Abdool. Almost two years ago a 19-year-old Dane Abdool was arrested for setting his 17-year-old girlfriend, Amelia Sookdeo, on fire, killing her.

It’s alleged that Amelia told Abdool that she was pregnant. Abdool allegedly wrapped her in duct tape, doused her in gasoline, set her on fire, then left her in a ditch to die. The medical examiner determined after Amelia’s death that she wasn’t even pregnant.

Abdool’s trial started today on first-degree murder charges with a possible death sentence.

Today was the start of jury selection.

Man Who Allegedly Set Girlfriend On Fire Could Get Death Penalty:

It’s been over a year since we’ve heard anything about Dane Abdool. He’s the man, and I use that term loosely, from Florida who is accused of killing his girlfriend, Amelia Sookdeo, by setting her on fire.

The last we heard, the State’s Attorney’s Office was more than likely considering the death penalty for Abdool. That consideration is now a reality as they have made it official that they are seeking the death penalty. The trial is set to start in February.

  • Burned his girlfriend alive

Police: Teen Burned Alive Over Pregnancy:

A 20-year-old man in Ocoee, Fla., was charged with murder after he confessed to pouring gasoline over his ex-girlfriend and then setting her on fire because she may have been pregnant, police told Local 6 News.

Winter Garden police officers investigating a report of a car fire noticed a small fire on the east side of County Road 545 on Feb. 25.

When officers extinguished the flames, they found the body of Amelia Sookdeo, 17, burned beyond recognition.

An investigation into the homicide led to Sookdeo’s ex-boyfriend, Dane Abdool, 20, who at first denied any involvement in the crime, according to the report.

However, when police confronted him with inconsistencies in his story and presented a set of tire marks from his car photographed at the scene, Abdool confessed to the crime, Local 6 News reported.

“He admitted that he had met his former girlfriend that night, she sneaked out and he picked her up and went to his apartment in Ocoee,” Winter Garden Police Chief George Brennan said. “From there they left and had an argument and he took her down County Road 545, forced her out of the car. He poured gasoline on her and ignited it.”

Abdool told police that he was arguing with Sookdeo over her possible pregnancy and he was just trying to scare her, Local 6 News reported.

    Here’s the twist…

“The medical examiner found no evidence that she was having a baby,” Local 6 reporter Mike DeForest said.

Way to go, you scumbag. You killed your own girlfriend in one of the most brutal ways possible over something that is supposed to be so beautiful, like bringing a new life into the world, and she wasn’t even pregnant.

I hope the fires of hell burn a million times hotter for you once you get there.

My prayers and condolences go out to the Sookdeo family.
