  • 33-year-old Ohio man arrested in Penn High plot

    Lee Billi
    Lee Billi

Ohio man accused of plotting Columbine-style attack:

Someone get Guinness on the phone, I think we found the world’s oldest mutant.

33-year-old Lee Billi of Lakewood, Ohio has been arrested for conspiracy to commit murder. Billi is the man who was allegedly helping/encouraging/co-plotting with the 16-year-old from Penn High School in Indiana.

The two allegedly discussed committing mass murder at simultaneous times. It’s unknown what location Billi had chosen. Some boxes of ammunition were found at Billi’s residence.

  • More details in Penn High School Plot

Prosecutors: Ind. student planned Columbine-like attack:

Just some additional minor details in the plot to attack Penn High School in Indiana.

When police did a search of the suspect’s belongings they found notebooks that detailed the plot which included instructions on how to make propane bombs and other explosives. So it wasn’t just a case of a kid shooting his mouth off.

Also, the adult who he was chatting with on MySpace about a similar plot is from Ohio. No word on if he’s been picked up yet.

  • Teen arrested in Penn High School plot

Penn student held in alleged Columbine-like plot:

A 16-year-old student from Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana has been arrested for allegedly plotting an attack against the school.

Not surprisingly the kid is a mutant who thought it would be ‘awesome’ if he could use one of the same types of guns that were used at Columbine.

The plot was discovered the same way most of them are discovered. The kid was discussing it with more than likely another mutant on MySpace.

When the suspect’s house was searched police confiscated over 100 knives and several illegal snakes. I doubt the snakes had anything to do with the plot but to me, snakes are sort of the pitbull of the reptile world. By that I mean the type of people who own pitbulls are usually the same type to own illegal snakes in my opinion.

The most disturbing part about this is that the other mutant that he was communicating with is not a juvenile.

  • Cossey tipster sentenced

Former hero in Cossey case gets probation:

Lew Bennett III was the teen who turned in Dillon Cossey for plotting against Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. Then Bennett along with some other teens broke into the Cossey’s home to steal some of the Cossey’s property.

Bennett and his cohorts were sentenced to probation…

At yesterday’s juvenile disposition hearing, the equivalent of an adult sentencing, the three learned that as a condition of their probation, they will have to attend a residential camp, perform 50 hours of community service, pay a fine, and make restitution. Bennett and one teen will attend the camp for two weekends, the other teen will have to attend for one weekend.

In addition, they are subject to a curfew, and must write a letter of apology, submit to random drug and alcohol testing, and attend individual and family counseling.

I’m disappointed that the suspects didn’t receive anytime in detention for their crimes. I think community service and apology letters will do no good in teaching these kids a lesson.

  • Rubbing salt in Tobin Kerns’ wounds

    Town cops receive commendations:

How’s this for adding insult to injury?

The two cops who arrested Tobin Kerns in the plot against Marshfield High in Massachusetts have received commendations for their work.

I wonder if they were commended for arresting an innocent kind, IMO, than arresting the actual suspect, Joe Nee, after kids came forward.

I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Nee’s father is head of the Boston police union. (I know, I get tired of typing it as much as you get tired of reading it.)

That’s some fine work there Lou.

  • Dillon Cossey tipster arrested

Strange Twist In Foiled Montco ‘Plot-To-Kill’:

Remember how the kid that turned Dillon Cossey in was heralded as a hero? Well, not so much anymore. It seems that he’s a little criminal in his own right.

That teen and two of his friends were arrested for breaking into the Cossey’s home.

Does this mean Dillon Cossey is innocent, not on your life? Just because the kid that turned him in is also a criminal it doesn’t mean that his testimony wasn’t accurate. Not to mention all the other corroborating evidence in that case.

But I guess it’s true what they say. There really is no honor among thieves.

  • Nee sentenced to 9 months

Man Gets 9 Months in Mass. School Plot:

That’s 9 months with three months served.

I’m surprised but I’m not. I’m surprised that the judge actually sentenced Joe Nee to jail time but I’m not surprised that he got less than Tobin Kerns.

    Let’s get some reactions…

“Obviously, being his parents, we’re heartbroken,” father Thomas Nee said after the sentencing.

Heartbroken that his position as head of the Boston police union didn’t carry enough clout maybe. If he was such a caring father maybe he wouldn’t have thrown his son out of the house when Nee went to live with the Kerns family. Or maybe he wouldn’t let his son wear a t-shirt to the school of the Columbine killers that said ‘Remember the Heroes’.

Next, we’ll hear from Joe Nee’s attorney, the always humorous Thomas Dreschler…

Nee’s attorney, Thomas Drechsler, asked Judge Charles Grabau to spare Nee any additional jail time.

“My client did go to police, and Kerns didn’t. I felt that he should have gotten a more lenient sentence,” Drechsler said. He said he plans to appeal the conviction.

The only reason Nee went to police was that he was in fear of Tobin Kerns going to the police first. He should have gotten a lot more time than Tobin Kerns. By most accounts, Nee was the ring leader.

Now let’s hear from Nee’s sister

Nee’s family was in tears, hugging outside the courtroom. His sister, Katherine Nee, said the ruling sends a message that people should not go to the police.

You mean how like a lot of the kids in Marshfield were afraid to go to the police about a policeman’s son?

I expect a few things to happen. I expect the sentence to be reduced on appeal. I expect Nee to get special treatment while in jail. I also expect that this won’t be the last time we hear about Joe Nee’s criminal activities. Either that or he’ll become a Boston cop.

  • Nee’s sentence debated online

    Nee’s expected sentence debated:

This is an article from the Patriot-Ledger newspaper in Quincy, Mass. which shows that the expected sentence of Joe Nee is being predicted online. It seems that I’m not the only one that thinks Nee will get a slap on the wrist.

“Nobody ever gets the max when they are that young,” said one comment posted by someone using the screen name Lost Cause. “At the most he will get approximately 2 years, and after good behavior and any time served, he will not spend much time at all in the land of forced love.”

Speaking of me, I was quoted in the article as well…

TheTrenchcoat Chronicles is Web site that says it specializes in following school shootings.

A poster there, using the screen name Trench Reynolds, said people seeking “true justice” should not celebrate just yet.

“If this is the only charge that Nee is convicted of he probably won’t see that much time,” the poster said. “Personally I’ll be surprised if he even sees the inside of a jail because of his connections.”

And I still stand behind that.

I wonder if the Patriot-Ledger used my quote because I was saying what they wanted to.

  • Courtroom skulduggery in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD STUDENT GUILTY ON ONE CHARGE IN SCHOOL MURDER PLOT:

Things are rotten in the state of Massachusetts.

There were some courtroom shenanigans in the conviction of Joe Nee. Originally the judge wanted to convict Nee on all three charges then things got weird…

Hours earlier, Judge Charles Grabau said that the prosecution had proven its case on all three charges against Nee. But Grabau changed his mind after hearing closing arguments.

After Grabau announced that he intended to find Nee guilty on all three charges, the 21-year-old’s family members began crying in the courtroom at Plymouth Superior Court. Nee hugged his mother to comfort her.

But defense attorney Thomas Dreschler interrupted the scene, objecting that the judge had not heard closing arguments. Grabau said there had been a misunderstanding and that he would reconsider his verdict after hearing from both sides.

Then Grabau only convicted Nee on one of the charges. I doubt Dreschler’s closing argument could have been that powerful to sway the judge into dropping two of the charges.

In my opinion everyone involved in handling this case from the judge, to the prosecution, to the defense, and especially Nee’s father. head of the Boston police union should be investigated.

  • Joe Nee convicted

Man Found Guilty In School Attack Plot:

Joe Nee, the ringleader of the plot to attack Marshfield High School, was convicted today of conspiracy to commit murder.

It’s not time to celebrate just yet seekers of true justice. The article states that this was the only charge he was convicted of. Nee was looking at charges of promotion of anarchy and threatening to use deadly weapons at school. The article doesn’t specify if he was found innocent of those charges or not.

Tobin Kerns, who in my opinion had nothing to do with the plot after he sought help, was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and threatening to use deadly weapons at school. He was sentenced to 10 months in jail.

If this is the only charge that Nee is convicted of he probably won’t see that much time. Personally, I’ll be surprised if he even sees the inside of a jail because of his connections.
