Abused DVD girl’s attackers get support on MySpace:

This is an article about how the scumbags that violated that poor girl in Werribee, Australia are getting support from their little stupid friends.

“brother… we chill n thats how we roll. media smedia they talk shit.. as long as we stick together no1 can stop us.. b-e-z
    talk soon. xoxxx
ur boy dt ” says one comment and

    “hey boofaa!
    saw the video thingy..
    you in alot of shit?
    dw man..
    i dont think it’s right..
but i all always be here for ya..
hope your alright and aint in to much shit
    xoxoxo katie. “

And this is not just an Australia thing either. Kids in America are supporting friends of theirs that have committed crimes almost as horrible as this one. Is murder and rape “not to much shit”? I pray to God that these kinds of kids are in the minority.

Police chase copies of school sex DVD:

Local law enforcement in Australia are stating that anyone in possession of the DVD can surrender it without fear of repercussion. However, they warn that having a copy of the DVD is considered being in possession of child pornography. Police say no charges will be filed until they have completed gathering evidence.

    AFL hopeful linked to DVD:

It appears that one suspect appearing in the DVD could be a potential player in the Australian Football League as he is eligible for the 2007 draft. The club he plays for now is not handing down any discipline until the police finish their investigation.

In the same article Law Council of Australia President John North said those involved in making and selling the DVD should not be named…

Mr. North said minors involved with the DVD should not be named despite some names being printed on the DVD cover.

“If those facts are correct, it shows how immature, how easily led some of them might be, and that is the distinction the law makes for children and adolescents,” he said.

“It’s appalling behaviour, it’s outrageous behaviour, but we shouldn’t punish it with that feeling of retribution and revenge.

“We should try and make sure that people are punished properly if they commit a crime but that the rest of their lives aren’t ruined, and some of these people might be quite young and some of them might be quite easily led,” he said.

What about the rest of the victim’s life? She is going to have to deal with this trauma forever. You can confiscate as many of the DVDs as you want, but I’m sure it’s somewhere on someone’s hard drive and will probably be perpetuated through infinity. Not naming the suspects is a grave injustice. But if you really wanted their names, you could go here.

    myspace deletes sex DVD comments:

This article states that MySpace has deleted the profiles of some of those involved with the DVD. However, the last time I checked, there were at least 3 that were still up. You can go to my last entry about this to see the profiles. The article states that MySpace has also contacted Australian law enforcement.

Knoxville insulted by link to boys’ assault film:

Of course, the media have connected this situation to the Jackass movies. Well, head Jackass himself Johnny Knoxville had this to say…

“I don’t understand, aside from lazy journalism, how they can make a connection between a bunch of f . . king evil little bastards assaulting a girl and us riding rockets and getting run over by a bull,” Johnny Knoxville said in Sydney.

“Some lady from a TV show yesterday, as I was walking into a radio interview, said ‘how do you feel about the Jackass-inspired stunt?’,” Knoxville said. “I’m like ‘what the f . . . are you talking about?’ When have we ever done anything like that?”

Knoxville said the Jackass team had never been linked to any incident like the Werribee DVD. “It’s completely insulting. We only do things to ourselves,” he said.

As much as I dislike the whole Jackass thing he is correct. This was nothing more than an exercise in rape and public humiliation.

  • DVD of teenage girl’s rape sold to school children in Australia

Living in The States, we don’t hear or see a lot of news from Australia. I happened to come across this story on Digg. The details and the language are pretty brutal, so it’s going behind the cut. It is not intended for younger readers. You have been warned.

Documents: MySpace suspect was fired from Ellington school in 2004:

I originally posted about alleged child rapist Scott Shefelbine here. Apparently, there were signs of his behavior…

ELLINGTON – The Tolland man charged with sexually assaulting several girls he met on MySpace.com was fired in 2004 from the teacher’s aide position he held at Ellington High School for two years after an investigation revealed that he had “acted inappropriately” with students, according to documents in his personnel file.

Scott Shefelbine, 31, of 167 Mountain Spring Road, was arrested Oct. 10 and charged with first-degree sexual assault, two counts of second-degree sexual assault, and four counts of risk of injury to a minor.

The Journal Inquirer obtained dozens of records from Shefelbine’s Ellington school system personnel file Monday through a freedom-of-information request.

According to the documents, Shefelbine was hired in September 2002 as a program aide at EHS, earning an hourly wage of $9.86, and worked there until September 2004.

According to former Superintendent Richard E. Packman’s notes on the investigation into Shefelbine’s conduct, troubles began to surface towards the end of the 2003-04 school year, when there were “parental complaints that Scott was involved socially with students and that he allegedly had provided students with rides and had arranged to transport students to a ‘juice bar’ or club in Hartford.”

At that time, EHS Assistant Principal Jack Leonard confronted Shefelbine with those complaints, the notes say.

According to the notes, Shefelbine admitted he had given a student a ride home from work once, but denied the other allegations. Shefelbine also told Leonard that he “understood an employee should not be involved socially with students,” the notes say.

In August 2004, Packman received another complaint about Shefelbine, this time from a parent whose daughter attempted to run away from home. The parent said that Shefelbine had driven the young girl to his house.

According to the notes, Shefelbine related his version of the events in a meeting with Packman on Aug. 25.

Shefelbine claimed that a 19-year-old former EHS student who had run away from home with his girlfriend, an 18-year-old EHS student, called his house on Aug. 2 and left a message telling him they had run away but had changed their minds, and asking him to pick them up and take them home.

Shefelbine said the young man called him the next day from Hall Memorial Library after having spent the night in Brookside Park and asked him to pick them up. Shefelbine said he picked up the young man, took him to the young man’s home, and then reported to work.

Shefelbine acknowledged that the girlfriend had gone to his home but said he did not know how she got there, the notes say. At this point, Packman reminded Shefelbine that he had earlier said that she probably walked to his house. To this, Shefelbine said that he was guessing, the notes say.

According to Packman’s notes, the girl told him said that on Aug. 3, Shefelbine picked her and her boyfriend up from the library She said they picked up their bags from Brookside Park and then Shefelbine dropped off the boy at his home, brought the girl to his house, and then went to work.

The notes say the girl’s mother then picked her up from Shefelbine’s house. When asked if Shefelbine ever tried contacting her, the girl replied that she had spoken to him through a three-way telephone call, and that Shefelbine told her that if anyone were to ask, to tell them she had walked from the library to his house.

Packman met with the girlfriend on Aug. 27. At that meeting, according to Packman’s notes, the girl said that she knew Shefelbine from school and that he had once driven her and a friend to a movie and afterwards to a fireworks display in the Rockville section of Vernon, the notes say.

According to a questionnaire submitted by Shefelbine to Leonard, Shefelbine gives a different account of the same incident, saying that he rode his bike to the fireworks display, and since it ended late, accepted a ride home from a student.

Packman’s notes from meetings with Shefelbine’s colleagues say they indicated they had observed that Shefelbine was socially involved with students in ways they thought were inappropriate, such as frequent cell phone conversations and giving rides home.

In a Sept. 7 letter from Packman to Shefelbine, Packman told him that he had been fired for “insubordination for your actions during an investigation, tampering with witnesses during an investigation, lying during an investigation and insubordination to a directive by your supervisor.”

A few days later, on Sept. 10, Shefelbine submitted a letter of resignation.

Man arrested for preying on teens on myspace.com:

Seriously, what is up with Connecticut? They seem to be breeding more and more child molesters every day…

(Vernon-WTNH, Oct. 10, 2006 10:30 PM) _ Police have arrested a Connecticut man they say preyed on teens on myspace.com.

Police say the suspect may have sexually assaulted five teens he met online and there may be more.

Scott Shefelbine does not have a police record but police say he has been going online and lying to teenage girls that he is also a teen in order to gain their trust and meet them.

It was 12:30 a.m. at a tower in Henry Park in Vernon when a police officer patrolling the grounds noticed a teenaged girl with an older man and began asking questions.

31-year-old Scott Shefelbine does not particularly look 19 or 17, but that is what he told at least 5 different victims that he allegedly met on myspace.com.

The Vernon police, State Police and the FBI have now seized 5 computers from Shefelbine’s home.

“We don’t know how many victims are out there. The internet is so pervasive and these predators are using it to contact so many different victims it is entirely possible that there are some out of state,” says Collins.

The five victims that police know of are all in Connecticut and between the ages of 14 and 17.

The age of consent is 16, but police say that Shefelbine has had sex with a 16-year-old he met in Henry Park when she was just 15. Shefelbine is also accused of raping the 17-year-old. He is also suspected of plying his victims with alcohol before sexually assaulting them.

I wasn’t able to find a MySpace attributed to Shefelbine, but his actions are disgusting and reprehensible. I hope he goes away for a long time.

Scripps worker charged with seducing 14-year-old via the Internet:

JUPITER A 22-year-old woman was arrested at her Scripps job on Tuesday and charged with sexual assault of a 14-year-old boy she’d met on the Internet at MySpace.com, deputies said.

Colleen N. Grear, of Singer Island, was charged with one count of using a computer to seduce or solicit a child and three counts of sexual assault of a child under age 18, the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives said Grear contacted the 14-year-old through MySpace.com early in the summer. She met with the child three times, PBSO said.

PBSO also said Grear confessed to having oral sex and intercourse with the boy, who is from northern Palm Beach County.

Recently, the boy’s mother discovered what was going on and contacted PBSO.

Grear is a divorced mother of a 2-year-old child. In addition to working at the Scripps lab, she is a student at Florida Atlantic University and is a cheerleading coach at a local high school, PBSO said.

It was not immediately known what Grear does at Scripps at its Jupiter operation.

But since she’s a woman, she’ll probably get no time.

I have no access to MySpace right now, so if anyone wants to post the link to hers in the comment section they may.

MySpace predator sentenced to 10 years:

Joseph Colasacco, who I originally posted about here, has been sentenced to 10 years for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy he met through MySpace.

He was arrested in February after the 14-year-old’s step-father found him in bed with the boy with a pornographic DVD playing on a television and pornographic magazines scattered about the boy’s room.

    Have fun in prison, scumbag.

Man Charged With Raping Girl He Met Through Internet:

Another sexual predator arrest in Connecticut. It’s officially the MySpace predator capital of the world…

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A city man has been arrested on a sexual assault charge, accused of raping a 12-year-old girl he met on the Internet site, Myspace.com.

Bienvenido Garcia, 19, was arrested Wednesday by members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force.

A task force member said that while police knocked on his door, task force members caught Garcia climbing out his back window in his underwear.

Police said the alleged victim’s mother had turned over to police 16 pages of computer correspondence between her daughter and Garcia from the Web site.

The girl said on a number of occasions Garcia had come into her room, pinned her on her bed and raped her, police said.

I was unable to find a MySpace for Garcia.

  • Matthew Cogburn

    Matthew Cogburn

    They’re still showing up:

It seems that Dateline NBC had another one of their “To Catch A Predator” episodes tonight. I missed it because I wasn’t home. However, a reader by the name of Big Boss tipped me off to one of the guys they exposed…

Another man who despite seeing our previous broadcasts is willing to take the risk of showing up at a stranger’s house to possibly have sex with a minor.

He’s 22-year-old Matthew Cogburn- yesterday was his birthday. He’s here to meet a decoy pretending to be a 14-year-old.

This clean cut all-American looking man has a MySpace page where he says “Jesus rocks” and lists god as his number one hero. But when he goes into a Yahoo chat room, he seems like another person. His chat with a girl he thinks is 14 is so graphic, much of it can’t be shown. He does ask the decoy if her house is secluded so if they use the jacuzzi, “you can moan and squeal all you want.”

Matthew Cogburn (hidden camera footage): Nice house.

Decoy: Thank you. Did you have a hard time getting here?

Cogburn: Well the road that I was looking for didn’t show up.

Hansen: Why don’t you have a seat there, and get comfortable for a minute

Cogburn: I had a feeling this was going to happenHansen: You had a feeling what was going to happen?

Cogburn: Is this the national news thing. The national news all that stuff?

Hansen: NBC? You mean like Dateline NBC?

    Cogburn: Yeah.

Hansen: What was your plan here today?

Cogburn: I don’t. I can’t answer that as I want to because I’ve been in a struggle with myself on what I want, ’cause I’m still a virgin and a just, and it’s stupid that I did this.

    Hansen: How old are you?

    Cogburn: 22

Hansen: And how old was the girl you were chatting with on line?

Cogburn: The girl said she was 13 or 14.

Hansen: 13 or 14? And you thought that it would be okay to come over here and visit a young girl home alone?

Cogburn: I wanted it, I wanted to think it was okay, but I guess (he shrugs his shoulders)

Hansen: Now, I’m looking at this chat log here. Sixteen minutes into this discussion you ask if she can do ‘deep throat’. Explain that to me.

Cogburn: No reason to explain it.

Hansen: No reason to explain it. (reading from chat) “How do you feel about sex?” “You on birth control?” or “Are you sticking with condoms?” “you got toys”?

    Cogburn: is there any ah

Hansen: Well I want you to square that with what’s on your MySpace Website where you talk about “Jesus rocks.”

You’ll hear more about this man’s inner struggle after he’s in police custody.

And thanks to Big Boss we have Cogburn’s MySpace. His MySpace username is “crazyforchristcoggy”. It seems he’s crazier for underage girls.

  • Katherine Lester in Seventeen Magazine

    Katherine Lester in Seventeen Magazine

Mich. teen recounts MySpace romance to magazine:

Our favorite runaway to the Middle East, Katherine Lester, is back in the headlines again for telling her story to Seventeen Magazine…

GILFORD A Michigan teenager who flew to the Middle East to be with a man she met on MySpace.com has detailed her online romance and the fallout her trip caused in Seventeen magazine.

In the article in the October issue of Seventeen, which hit newsstands Tuesday, 17-year-old Katherine Lester writes about how she has worked to regain her parents’ trust since her romance was revealed and became international news.

“While my parents were supportive through the legal issues, I can see how much our relationship has changed because of what I did in good ways and bad,’ Lester wrote. “No matter how many times I say I’m sorry, I can’t get back their trust.”

Lester developed an online romance with Abdullah Jimzawi, a 20-year-old Palestinian who lives in the West Bank town of Jericho. For months, she kept the relationship secret before disappearing June 5 from her mother’s home in Gilford, 80 miles north of Detroit.

“I couldn’t imagine going halfway across the globe,” she wrote in the magazine. “But I realized I didn’t want to wait either.”

Her father, Terry Lester, who lives near Flint, has declined requests from The Associated Press to interview his daughter. He said Thursday that she is back in high school for her senior year.

Katherine Lester wrote in the magazine that she and Jimzawi talk daily on the telephone for about an hour. And she reiterated her plans to marry him.

=”Although a lot of people, including my parents, don’t believe us, we really do love each other and we are going to get married someday,” she wrote. “Love is full of tests, and we’re going to pass ours.”

What a great message Seventeen is sending to its readers. It’s ok for girls to run off to marry someone at the age of 16. It’s a guarantee that he’ll love you forever. Please.

And why is her father still allowing her to talk to Abdullah Psycho every day for an hour?

This whole thing is starting to smell of cashing in. I’ll lay odds that a Lifetime movie gets made about this.

One 20-year-old Eric Roscoe from Lake Charles, La. was arrested in DeRidder, La. for carnal knowledge of a juvenile and computer-aided solicitation because he was diddling a 15-year-old girl.
