Man pleads guilty to rape after meeting teen using MySpace:

Meet Aaron Stanga. He’s a 21-year-old from Sioux Falls, SD who pled guilty to having sex with a 14-year-old girl that he met on MySpace. He’s looking at 5-years under the plea. However, there should be a parent being locked up for negligence…

The victim told police she presented herself as 24 years old when she first began chatting with Stanga. The defendant told police he thought the girl was 16 when they had sex in June at her house.

She said she was 24, and they had sex at her house. Parents anyone?

    Suspect’s Father Gets Probation:

David Shefelbine, the father of suspected serial predator Scott Shefelbine, received probation for punching out a female reporter.

David Shefelbine of Tolland, father of Scott Shefelbine, received the special form of probation for a year, by Judge Patricia L. Harleston.

In granting the probation, Harleston directed David Shefelbine to have “no assaultive behavior toward anyone, particularly anyone in the news media.”

I guess there goes the father-son picnic at county lockup.

Court worker suspended for failing to track whereabouts of accused MySpace molester:

You remember Scott Shefelbine, don’t you? He’s the guy who was arrested a brazillion times for molesting underage girls he met on MySpace, even after he was already arrested.

It turns out that a court employee has been suspended without pay because she failed to keep track of Shefelbine after one of the many times he posted bail.

During that time, it’s believed he visited one of his victims when his bond specified he was forbidden from doing so.

MySpace Rape Arrest: What Parents Can Do:

21-year-old Sean Lennon of Ravena, New York, is under arrest for the rape of a 15-year-old girl.

It started as an e-mail exchange through MySpace dot com according to the Albany County Sheriff’s Department. They say 21 year old Sean Lennon of Ravena befriended the then 14 year old girl online. Authorities say she was clear in telling Lennon of her age but the two met anyway. The first of two sexual encounters happened in a wooded area behind the Ravena firehouse. Investigators say Lennon convinced the girl to sneak out of her house.

Man faces felonies for sex with girl:

36-year-old Daniel Dietz has been arrested for having sex with a 13-year-old girl. What makes it worse is that they were introduced by the girl’s mom.

The girl’s mother told police she introduced her teenage daughter to Dietz at a support-group meeting she had been attending and through which the mother had become acquainted with Dietz, the documents said.

“According to statements received from members of the support group, they observed (the girl) and Dietz playing ‘footsies’ along with other flirtatious behavior and on multiple occasions these members indicated to Dietz the behavior was not appropriate,” the documents state.

After meeting the girl, Dietz allegedly began talking with her via the Internet.

Dietz delivered to police his two laptop computers, which he gave the detectives permission to search. Upon reviewing Dietz’s MySpace account on which he uses the moniker “Slo-N-Low,” detectives found an Internet chat conversation between Dietz and the girl.

In a MySpace chat on March 25, according to court documents, Dietz spoke with the teen about “sexually explicit matters.” During the conversation, Dietz allegedly asked for a photo of the teen and she complied by sending him a photo of herself with her bare chest exposed, the documents said.

Dietz also allegedly used one of his computers to transmit a photo of his genitalia to the 13-year-old’s e-mail account, court documents allege.

According to MySpace account records, Dietz and the teen discussed meeting and carrying out plans to engage in the sexual activity they had discussed in Internet chat conversations, court documents said.

“During one Internet chat the two noted that they knew sexual contact between them was illegal because (the girl) was only 13 years old,” court documents state.

Dietz spent the night at the girl’s home after fixing her computer, according to court documents, and while the teen’s mother slept, the girl performed a sex act on Dietz in the family’s kitchen.

Court documents state the girl said she also engaged in sex acts with Dietz on other occasions at her home and at his residence.

I bet when he’s in prison, he’s going to regret using the moniker of “Slo-N-Low”.

Punta Gorda PD make a different kind of arrest

Police: Myspace mission leads to sex arrest:

The police department of Punta Gorda, Florida has been featured on this site many times. Usually, it’s for the arrest of some drug dealer that blatantly advertises on MySpace. This time they made a completely different kind of arrest.

Punta Gorda PD arrested 19-year-old Tyler Stancker of Pennsylvania. Stancker traveled from Pennsylvania to Florida in order to have sex with a 14-year-old girl he met on MySpace.

He is being charged with fourteen counts of Lewd Battery, two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation, and one count of Prohibited Use of Computer Services.

He will be transported to the Charlotte County Jail for booking procedures where he will be held on no bond.

Wow, no bond. That’s pretty harsh. Not that he’ll get any sympathy from me. I still don’t understand why someone would travel that great a distance for a 14-year-old girl.

  • Media fueling MySpace hysteria

    Media fueling MySpace hysteria

Sexual predator gets close to his target on MySpace:

The headline is kind of misleading, but I’m getting ahead of myself.

30-year-old Andre Johnson of Eastlake, Ohio was already on probation for improper sexual conduct with a 14-year-old. Apparently, that wasn’t enough of a deterrent. He’s now accused of breaking into the bedroom of another 14-year-old girl and raping her.

He denies that the sex was rape, but admits he was so drunk and high that he barely remembers the evening.

    Like that makes it better.

And here’s where MySpace comes into play.

The two originally met through the teen’s older sister, but detectives say the relationship was further established by chatting back and forth on MySpace.

So while Mr. Johnson is a grade A scumbag and deserves everything he gets, MySpace was barely involved in this incident and was not the conduit for this predator to meet his victim.

    Sensationalistic journalism at its worst.

    Shefelbine’s father has charges increased

    Shefelbine Charge Changed:

David Shefelbine, the father of alleged serial predator Scott Shefelbine, had his charges increased for assaulting a Connecticut news reporter.

During his brief arraignment Tuesday in the same court in Rockville, David Shefelbine said nothing as Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth C. Leaming increased the charge he faces to third-degree assault. Lori Beth Leavitt, Shefelbine’s attorney, entered a routine not guilty plea and a request for a jury trial.

Shefelbine the elder is accused of punching reporter Erin Cox after she asked him to comment on his son’s bail being revoked.

Maybe father and son will have adjoining cells.

  • Shefelbine trial moved

    Shefelbine trial moved

    Shefelbine Cases Moved To Rockville:

Everyone’s favorite repeat arrestee and all around creepy guy, Scott Shefelbine, is having two of his cases moved from Hartford to Rockville, CT. However, it’s not because of any change of venue requests.

Judge Thomas P. Miano said that he was transferring the cases for administrative purposes to Rockville, where seven other cases are pending against Shefelbine. Miano said that the move did not preclude the defense from filing a change of venue motion.

So Judge Miano is basically saying “Look here Slapnuts. Since you have seven other cases pending against you in Rockville, we’re going to let them have these two as well”. So, basically, Shefelbine only has to make one stop before he heads to the joint.

Rockville may not be his last stop, though. His defense attorney may file a change of venue request due to all the pre-trial publicity. Maybe if her client’s father didn’t punch out a reporter, there wouldn’t be so much publicity.

  • A Shefelbine strikes back

    A Shefelbine strikes back

    Defendant’s Father Punches Reporter:

The saga of alleged serial predator Scott Shefelbine took a bizarre twist today. After his bail was revoked, his father, David Shefelbine, punched out a reporter…a female reporter.

VERNON – After his son was jailed today, David Shefelbine punched a television reporter in the face outside Superior Court in Rockville.

Erin Cox, from WTNH Channel 8, was asking him for a comment on the judge’s decision involving Scott Shefelbine, 32, when David Shefelbine, 67, swung his right arm and punched her.

Vernon police were called, interviewed witnesses and viewed footage of the alleged assault taken by photographers for Channel 8 and WVIT Channel 30. Cox went to Rockville General Hospital at 2:35 p.m. to be evaluated.

Police went to Shefelbine’s Tolland home after the incident to question him, but he refused to answer the door, police said. He later turned himself in at Vernon police headquarters, accompanied by his lawyer. He was charged with second-degree breach of peace and released without having to post bail.

I’m not surprised he didn’t have to post bail. He should have a $1.5M credit.

It also seems that a lack of respect for women runs in the family.
