NY husband and wife MySpace rapists indicted

Queens couple used 2 Internet teen girls for sex, prosecutors say:

22-year-old Sophie Soto and her husband, 31-year-old Julio Rojas, have been arrested for an assortment of charges. I’ll let the article explain the travesties they’ve committed…

The sordid saga began in late 2006, when Sophie Soto, 22, used the MySpace social networking site to contact one of the girls, prosecutors said Monday in a statement. Soto told the girl that she was an 18-year-old virgin who had sexual relations with girls and was planning to have sex with a boy but was nervous and wanted the girl to be with her, they said.

The girl wrote back to Soto and said she would be there and would take a friend along, and their relationship developed through telephone and Internet instant-message conversations, prosecutors said.

When the girls showed up at Soto’s Queens apartment in January 2007, she liquored them up and took them into a bedroom, where she sexually abused them before her husband, Julio Rojas, 31, had sexual intercourse with all three, District Attorney Richard Brown said.

Later that night, the couple took the girls, who were under 15 but were given fake identification cards, to a Manhattan strip club, where Soto and an exotic dancer dragged them on stage, slipped their clothes off and made them have oral sex with patrons, the district attorney said.

Together, the pair face a 56-count indictment including charges of rape, sexual abuse, and using a child in a sexual performance.

While the ultimate responsibility for these crimes ultimately lays with the multiple rapist scumbags that did this to these poor girls, it still has to be asked.

Where in the hell were these girls’ parents?

Why aren’t the attorneys general looking into that?

37-year-old arrested for meeting to have sex with 12-year-old

    Edward Oberwise

Hillsborough County man met girls on MySpace in order to have sex:

Mr. Clean, over there, is 37-year-old Edward Oberwise of Hillsborough County, Florida. He’s been arrested for allegedly having sex with a 12-year-old girl he met on MySpace.

Police were tipped off by the girl’s 14-year-old friend, who told her parents.

So let’s hear it, sex offender defenders. Please tell me how you think that this man who was 25 years older than his victim was not at fault.

    Sean Lennon pleads guilty

Again, no, not John Lennon’s son.

Ravena man pleads guilty to raping teen he met on MySpace:

I originally posted about Sean Lennon here. He was arrested over the summer for having sex with a 14-year-old girl he met on MySpace. The 21-year-old from Ravena, New York pleaded guilty to one count of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance and one count of Rape in the Third Degree, both felonies.

Under the terms of the plea bargain, Lennon will serve seven years in prison and ten years post release supervision. He also must to register as a sex offender and have no contact with the victim.

    Douglas Brian Wall

Police: Man Lured Minor From MySpace:

The surprised looking dude over there is 26-year-old Douglas Brian Wall of Ferndale, Michigan. He’s in jail for having sex with a 15-year-old girl that he lured to his house via MySpace. He’s also accused of supplying drugs and alcohol to minors. A regular pillar of the community, this guy is.

A parent tipped off police shortly before midnight on New Year’s Eve. The parent said he discovered his minor children had been at Wall’s home.

A search of his home turned up marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The investigation also revealed that Wall had sex with a 15-year-old girl from “a nearby city” several times over a two-month period. Police said other juveniles, some as young as 14, were in the house during the encounters, drinking and using drugs.

I wonder how many parents were totally unaware of their kid’s behavior. All it takes is a little check-up on their computer.

Mr. Hall here, however, just may possibly be the absolute least productive member of society and deserves to be thrown in a hole for an awfully long time.

  • Anthony Uckele convicted

    Anthony Uckele convicted

Man guilty of more charges in MySpace case:

I originally posted about Anthony Uckele here. He’s the 24-year-old from Saratoga, California, who was facing 36 charges for a sexual ‘relationship’ he had with a 12-year-old girl he met on MySpace.

Well, it seems that Mr. Uckele has been convicted of 20 of those charges. On the remaining 15 charges, the jury was deadlocked. So now Uckele is only looking at 46 years behind bars, rather than the 78 he could have received. He is scheduled to be sentenced on February 29th.

What’s almost disturbing as Uckele himself is the number of people posting comments not only on this site but on the newspaper’s site that blame the 12-year-old victim. You people have issues, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you had certain criminal sexual leanings yourself.

  • Metal Molester barred from the stage

Metal Molester barred from the stage

Judge in Sex Case Bans Rocker From Stage:

One of the more heated discussions that have been ongoing on this site is that of one Randall Shesto II. He’s the 21-year-old lead singer of the metal ‘band’ Nailwounds. He was caught not once but twice with underage girls, earning him the nickname on this site of The Metal Molester.

Well, it seems that the Molester is Metal no more, as a judge has barred him from appearing on stage for 5 years.

“You love your music,” the judge told the defendant. “Your music has been the tool by which you have ingratiated your way into the lives of these girls. You may not play in a band in any public appearances during the term of your probationary period. I’m taking away from you the tools by which you worked your misdeeds, sir.”

I can just see the judge saying to him “Now I bid you good day sir.” before slamming down his gavel.

Shesto was also sentenced to a month behind bars, 11 months of work release, and 5 years probation. He also can’t use the internet or a cell phone without permission from his probation officer.

    Rock on justice system. \m/

  • Another MySpace Lawsuit

    Another MySpace Lawsuit

Victim’s parents sue MySpace after suicide, assault by Celina man:

The family of a 14-year-old California girl known only as Julie Doe are suing MySpace after the girl committed suicide. Doe was sexually assaulted by 30-year-old Kiley Ryan Bowers of Celina, Texas after the two met on MySpace in 2005.

Their online conversations led to a face-to-face meeting and the sexual assault near her home in Southern California.

Mr. Bowers broke off the relationship several months later, and the girl fell into “a deep depression as a result of the failed, despicable relationship fostered over MySpace,” the lawsuit states. She killed herself in July 2006.

Mr. Bowers, 30, pleaded guilty to traveling across state lines to have sex with a minor and was sentenced this summer to nine years in federal prison.

Now let’s hear from the attorney…

“MySpace knows that it is a haven for sexual predators, yet doesn’t put in any security measures to protect young girls,” said the family’s attorney, Jason Itkin. “We think that with MySpace’s right to make a profit comes a responsibility to protect its customers.”

“The main goal of these lawsuits is to get MySpace to stand up and put in meaningful protections that will make it more difficult to search out and find young girls,” said Mr. Itkin, whose firm is representing six other families who have sued MySpace on similar allegations.

I really hate to kick a family when they’re down, but this lawsuit was once tried already and failed. Mr. Itkin was involved in that lawsuit as well. Mr. Itkin says these lawsuits are to protect the children, but we all know it’s really about getting a huge payday.

The sexual assault took place in the girl’s home. Where were the parents when this assault took place? Why weren’t the parents checking up on her MySpace activities? Families are supposed to come with built-in meaningful protection. They’re called parents.

U.S. district judge Sam Sparks said it best when he dismissed the original lawsuit. “If anyone had a duty to protect Julie Doe, it was her parents, not MySpace,”

Florida man arrested for sexual battery

    Richard Gagnon Jr.

Detectives:Man met Lakeland teen through MySpace and Sexually Battered Her:

That distinguished looking gentleman at right is one 39-year-old Richard Gagnon Jr. He’s been arrested for performing sexual acts on a 14-year-old girl that he met over MySpace. Gagnon is accused of making several trips from Fort Lauderdale to Lakeland, Florida to have sex with the girl.

Detectives say Gagnon sexually battered her on several of those trips. Gagnon admitted to investigators that he knew the victim was 14 years old.

During the most recent incident, on Friday, investigators say the girl left her Lakeland home around 11:30 pm while her mom was sleeping.

The victim agreed to meet Gagnon, and the two drove together to the Motel 6 located at 3120 US Hwy 98 North in Lakeland.

When the girl’s mother woke up in the morning, investigators say, she found a note written by the victim girl saying that she had left and would return in a week.

The mother called the Sheriff’s Office, and detectives, after talking to the victim’s friends, learned their location.

Gagnon is facing numerous charges, including traveling to meet a minor and enticing a minor via the internet.

    Hacker gets 110 years

Hacker gets 110 years for threats on MySpace:

33-year-old Ivory Dickerson of North Carolina was sentenced to 110 years. He was accused of hacking into the MySpaces of girls from Brevard County, Florida. Sentence a little harsh, you say? Well, Dickerson would hack into the MySpaces and the girls’ computers to try to extort pornographic images of themselves. Sentence still too harsh, you say?

While investigating the hacking case, the local FBI Innocent Images Task Force uncovered a cache of child pornography dating to 1998 and videos of Dickerson with young girls, thought to be about 15 years old. In the video, Dickerson boasts of drinking with them in his room and having sexual encounters with them, according to court records.

    Not so harsh now, huh?

  • Anthony Uckele

    Anthony Uckele

In court, San Jose girl tells of sex with adult she met online:

Right now, 24-year-old Anthony Uckele of Saratoga, California is facing 36 counts of lewd conduct that could put him behind bars for 78 years.

He was arrested back in October 2005 for having sex with a 12-year-old girl that he met on MySpace. They’re trying the ‘she said she was 16’ defense, but his actions betray him.

The girl with the blue stuffed animal – a cloth-covered cat that she hugged closely to her chest – said she called Uckele after reading his first message and agreed to meet him at a Starbucks near her home in Willow Glen. From there, he took her to a video arcade and a park, a pattern they would repeat several times over a period of a few weeks.

As early as their second meeting – and a few weeks before they had sexual intercourse – the girl said she told Uckele she was 12 and he said he was 22.

When he drove her home, Uckele dropped her off a block from her house because they knew her father wouldn’t approve of their age difference, the girl testified. Uckele also warned the girl not to tell any of her friends about him, “because he was too old.”

Eventually, she said, Uckele persuaded her to sneak out of her father’s house at night and meet him a block away. The girl testified that Uckele drove her to his mother’s home in Saratoga, where he persuaded her to undress in his bedroom and have intercourse.

“I was scared. It was something I wasn’t used to,” she testified in a low voice. “He said, ‘It’s going to be OK. Nothing bad is going to happen.’ “

After more encounters over the next several months, the girl read about sexual abuse in a library book and decided to tell someone who notified police, Shore said. But before authorities arrested Uckele, they arranged to record a telephone conversation between the pair.

On the recording, which Shore played in court, the girl said several times that she felt it was wrong for them to have had sex.

“OK. I didn’t force you to do anything,” Uckele replied. “If you tell someone, I’m going away to prison for 10 years. You’ll ruin my life.”

And let’s not forget that the age of consent in California is 18, not 16. D’oh. Not only that, but now Uckele is facing a lot more than 10 years. And your life should be ruined, since you ruined that little girl’s life.
