Judge denies new trial for Capano

U.S. District Court Judge Harvey Bartle III concluded that Thomas J. Capano is not entitled to a new trial on charges that he killed Anne Marie Fahey, the scheduling secretary of then-Gov. Tom Carper.

Take that, you murderous manipulative psycho. I just wish they’d reinstate his death penalty.

  • Jokela report released

    Jokela report released

Teen gun killer sought to be ‘a God’:

Police in Finland have released their final report on Pekka-Eric Auvinen and the school shooting at Jokela High School.

Nothing much we didn’t already know or could have guessed.

The one thing I found interesting was this quote from his diary…

“In the best case, this (attack) would create massive destruction and chaos, or even a revolution,” Auvinen wrote in diary entries cited by the police report. “In any case, I want this to be remembered forever. Maybe I’ll even have a follower; after all, I am a super-person, almost God.”

Just like a typical school shooter. Deluded, selfish, and an over-inflated sense of self-worth. No revolution, no followers, and you’re not even close to God. You’ll barely be remembered outside of Finland.

    Attackers allegedly apologized

Attackers Bought Victim Drinks At CVS After Videotaping Beating:

More from the story that refuses to die.

According to the article, Victoria Lindsay was taken to a local CVS after her infamous beating. Some of her attackers allegedly apologized and bought her drinks.

Did they think they were ‘all good’ now? Because you know the proper response to trash talk is a beating by 6 people. That’s sarcasm, by the way.

  • Attempt at more delays in Zarate trial

Attempt at more delays in Zarate trial

Randolph killing defense: It was the drugs talking:

It’s been almost three years since Jonathan Zarate murdered 16-year-old Jennifer Parks, dismembered her body, and tried to dump her in the Passaic River. Almost three years, and the case still hasn’t gone to trial. Mostly because of Zarate’s defense either stalling or being completely unprepared. Now they’ve tried to delay it even more by attempting to consult with a toxicologist. Why is that, you may ask? Well, now, almost three years later, Zarate is trying to claim that there’s no way he could have confessed to police willingly because he was high on weed laced with PCP.

Instead, defense attorney Richard S. Mazawey said in court Tuesday that a psychiatrist he plans to use in the case wants to consult with a toxicologist he just hired. Mazawey said his expectation is that the toxicologist would opine that Zarate couldn’t knowingly waive his legal right to remain silent because of the effects of “marijuana laced with PCP lingering in his system.”

Thankfully the judge denied the request.

Today a hearing will be held to determine if Zarate’s confession will be admissible.

    Hat tip to Keb.

  • LGBT groups want shooter tried as juvenile

LGBT groups want shooter tried as juvenile

LGBT Groups: Try Lawrence King’s Killer as a Juvenile:

According to the article, 27 LGBT groups have issued a statement that said they would like to see Brandon McInerney tried as a juvenile. 14-year-old McInerney is accused of gunning down Lawrence King in cold blood at E.O. Green Junior High School in Oxnard, California. King was an openly gay student at the school. He often got back at his tormentors, including McInerney, by mockingly flirting with them.

    From the statement…

“We are issuing this joint statement because we believe so strongly in principles of justice that protect all our young people and know that, even in the face of strong emotions, we should not abandon them.

“We refuse to let our sense of outrage blind us to the fact that the suspect is only 14 years old.”

By now you should know my feelings on trying murderers as juveniles, so I’ll refrain from ranting.

However I know I have some readers that are L’s at least one B and maybe a G, hell I might even have a T. I’d like to know, do these activist groups speak for you, or do you think that McInerney should be tried as an adult?

This stone’s called Apophis, it brings Apocalypse

German schoolboy, 13, corrects NASA’s asteroid figures: paper:

According to the article, a 13-year-old German amateur astronomer has corrected NASA’s findings on the asteroid Apophis.

Nico Marquardt says that Apophis has a 1 in 450 chance of striking Earth instead of the 1 in 45,000 that NASA has said.

Unfortunately, none of this will happen until 2036. I don’t know if I can wait that long for the Apocalypse.

Anyway, NASA is now denying that Marquardt’s claim is correct, so it might be a moot point anyway.

  • Michael Gray sentenced

    Michael Gray sentenced

Man sentenced for having sex with minor he met on MySpace:

Back in October I posted about the arrest of 30-year-old Michael David Gray of Grover Beach, California. He was arrested for having sex with a 15-year-old girl that he met over MySpace and supplying her with drugs. All sorts of people came out of the woodwork defending Mr. Gray, saying there’s no way the charges are true because he’s not capable of such a heinous act.

Well, the court seems to disagree, as he was sentenced to 60-days behind bars for unlawful sexual intercourse, aka statutory rape. He’ll also have three years of probation and 20 hours of community service. He also cannot have any drugs or alcohol or have any contact with the girl.

    Draper’s reduced sentence request denied

Convicted Teen Killer Tried to Have Sentence Reduced:

When Torey Adamcik had his reduced sentence request denied in the murder of Cassie Jo Stoddart, I knew his cohort would have his request denied too.

Brian Draper tried to get his life without parole sentence changed to where he would be eligible for parole in 25 years. That request was denied with extreme prejudice…

In the end, Judge McDermott said Brian Draper can live – Cassie can’t. He went on to say she had the worst punishment compared to the teens.

    Bravo. Justice for once.

    Andrew Golden found

Attorney Finds Andrew Golden, One Of Jonesboro School Shooters:

Andrew Golden, the other Jonesboro gunman, has been tracked down by a lawyer representing the victims’ families.

The article doesn’t say where Johnson was but that he was found and subpoenaed in the lawsuit against him and Mitchell Johnson.

If you’ll recall, Mitchell Johnson gave his deposition prior to his recent troubles with the law. In that deposition, he laid the blame entirely on Golden.
