  • Armed teachers in Texas

Guns Allowed on Campus in North Texas School District:

The Harrold Independent School District in North Texas has decided that teachers will now be allowed to carry guns to prevent a Columbine or Virginia Tech. Personally, I think this one of the most idiotic ideas I’ve ever heard.

Teachers barely discipline their students as it is because of fear of lawsuits. Do you think one is actually going to open fire in a crowded classroom and risk hitting an innocent? I seriously doubt it.

The flip side to that argument is what if there is a gunman and a shootout ensues and an innocent is struck by a teacher’s bullet? The school is a no win situation either way. Not to mention what if a student steals a teacher’s gun and uses it in a school shooting.

What if you have one of those child touching teachers we keep hearing about. This just gives them one more option of coercion.

I think the negatives greatly outweigh the positives. As a matter of fact, I can’t even think of one positive.

  • Joshua Innes paroled

    Online sex predator paroled:

The last time I posted about Joshua Innes was almost a year ago when he was sentenced to nine years behind bars.

To refresh your memory Innes, from Montreal, used the social site Nexopia to threaten and blackmail underage girls into stripping in cam for him by posing as a 16-year-old girl named Nicky.

When he was sentenced I bemoaned the fact that 9 years wasn’t enough for a predatory scumbag like Innes. As it turns out the Canadian system thought not even a year was too much.

Innes has been paroled by the National Parole Board even though his own case managers were against it.

In a decision released Friday, the board said Innes made progress in his treatment program and demonstrates “insight and understanding” about what led to his crimes.

“While you were offending you were leading a double life and found your Internet involvement both intoxicating and addictive,” the board wrote. “While you have yet to deal with the addictive aspect of your criminal behaviour, your double life has been exposed.”

Innes will be a registered sex offender and can not be on the internet while on parole.

You know, we had a case recently here in the states where a sexual predator allegedly completed a state program and was deemed fit to return to society. His name was Michael Jacques and he allegedly kidnapped his own niece and possibly had a hand in her death.

Now you have your own Michael Jacques Canada. Congratulations.

  • Independent investigators submit possible Caylee evidence

    Independent Caylee investigators submit evidence:

A few independent investigators search near a soccer field found some clothes and other items while conducting a search into the disappearance of Caylee Marie Anthony.

“We found some things in this area … blue jeans, size five from express,” Derrick Miller.

“I found a couple of book bags, some other articles of clothing, some female clothing, a female shoe,” said Wyatt Locke. “We did find a few articles of children’s clothing yes,” Locke added.

The items have been turned over to the police and some of the clothes are the same size that Casey Anthony wears.

My question is what is the affiliation of these independent investigators? Are they volunteers for the police department or are they friends of the Anthonys?

  • MySpace deletes Nebraska sex offenders

MySpace Deletes 146 Nebraska Sex Offender Profiles from Site:

Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning announced this past Friday that in the first half of 2008 MySpace has deleted the profiles of 112 sex offenders that are registered in Nebraska. In 2007 247 were deleted.

No word on what Nebraska is doing about the unregistered sex offenders or the registered ones that aren’t on MySpace.

  • Virginia man caught with 15-year-old Illinois girl

Man sought sex with girl, 15, police say:

21-year-old Kriz Jerome Cabadin of Centreville, Va. has been arrested for having sex with a 15-year-old girl from Edwardsville, Illinois.

Cabadin had met the 15-year-old over the net and had flown at least three times from Virginia to Illinois. His laptop also contained child porn. It’s unknown if the child porn was something separate or if it was pictures of the girl.

Cabadin has been charged with federal charges of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.

According to Cabadin’s MySpace, he’s married and it also looks like he may be another Juggalo as well.

    His Netlog says he’s single.

Thanks to Tim for the tip.

  • CU rental scam

Police warn of Craigslist housing scam:

A University of Colorado student was partially taken in by a craigslist rental scam.

The scammer used the old moving out of the country to be a missionary routine and the student bought it because his own family had moved to Africa to be missionaries once. What are the odds of that? This guy should play the lottery soon.

The scammers weren’t even trying that hard since they asked the student to wire the money to Nigeria. Luckily he didn’t but he had already sent them his personal information.

The student drove by the house and noticed a for sale sign. He contacted the actual realtor who told him the house was not for rent.

  • Not guilty plea in ‘Mortal Komabt’ murder

    stick

Man enters plea in Johnstown ‘Mortal Kombat’ death:

In what has been wrongly called the ‘Mortal Kombat’ killing 18-year-old Lamar Roberts has pleaded not guilty in the beating death of 7-year-old Zoe Garcia.

If you’ll recall Roberts and his girlfriend Heather Trujillo allegedly practiced moves from Mortal Kombat on Trujillo’s half-sister Garcia.

Trujillo pleaded guilty in May and as part of her plea will testify against Roberts.

I need to stress that in my opinion, this had nothing to do with a video game and more to do with lax parenting. Trujillo and Garcia’s mother Dana Trujillo has a long criminal record including drugs, prostitution, and child abandonment.

  • Lawrence King’s parents blame school for shooting

Family of gay boy says dress code led to killing:

In one of the most blatant acts of irresponsibility I’ve read about lately the parents of Lawrence King filed a personal injury claim against the school district for not enforcing the dress code leading to the shooting death of 15-year-old King at E.O. Green Junior High.

To recap King was openly gay and would sometimes wear women’s clothes to school. King was bullied by Brandon McInerney and King would retaliate by mockingly flirting with McInerney which led to King being killed by McInerney.

Filing a claim personal injury is a precursor to a lawsuit.

His parents, Dawn and Gregory King, allege faculty knew their son had “unique vulnerabilities” and was subject to abuse because of his sexual orientation.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t King’s parents throw him out of their house for being gay? So if they really wanted to protect him they wouldn’t have thrown him out and wouldn’t have let him dress like that to school.

The blame does not lie with the school district, it lies with Brandon McInerney and to a lesser extent Dawn and Gregory King. Ultimately it was your responsibility on what Lawrence wore to school. Any money you collect from this is nothing but blood money.

  • Odgren trial delayed

DA appeals ruling in Odgren murder case:

The trial for John Odgren has been delayed while prosecutors appeal to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts over the tapes of Odgren’s prison phone conversations.

Odgren is accused in the 2007 stabbing and slashing death of fellow Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High student James Alenson.

Odgren’s lawyer is trying to use Odgren’s alleged Aspergers as a diminished capacity defense.

The prosecution states that the tapes will show that Odgren does not communicate like an Asperger’s patient.

The prison tapes were previously ruled inadmissible.

No new date has been set for the trial.

  • Secret locations, bounty hunters, and spokesmen – the latest on Caylee

Eyewitness News Reveals Remote Area Where Casey Anthony Made Calls:

WFTV in Orlando is claiming they have tracked down one of Casey Anthony’s locations on June 17th. They say she was in a wooded area near the Orlando airport but they don’t really state how they got this information except to cite unnamed ‘documents’. So, in my opinion, take that with a grain of salt.

Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary has pleaded to the public to provide police with ‘credible’ tips as to Caylee’s whereabouts. He didn’t say this but I’m sure he meant to stop calling in with the ‘Loch Ness Monster’ type sightings people have been calling in.

Bounty Hunter: Missing 3-Year-Old Girl’s Mom To Be Bailed Out Of Jail:

Now we have some people trying to make a name for themselves off of Caylee Marie Anthony.

First is bounty hunter Leonard Padilla from the show ‘Bounty Hunters’ on National Geographic. He says that his nephew, Tony Padilla, will be posting the $500K bond this weekend. Leonard Padilla says that he wants to bail Casey out to ‘find out the truth’.

“We eat in the same room, sleep in the same room. After a while, these people feel better than sitting in a cell looking at the walls, and they will discuss things that they won’t discuss with parents or anybody else,” Leonard Padilla said.

Yeah…good luck with that. Here’s what Mr. Padilla said in what basically amounts to a press release.

“On Sunday, August 17, World Famous Bounty Hunter Leonard Padilla and his nephew Tony Padilla, owner of Tony Padilla Bail Bonds of Sacramento, CA., will be traveling to Orlando with two of Leonard Padilla’s associates. Tony Padilla will be posting a $500,000.00 bond for the release of Casey Anthony.”

This is all about publicity. Nothing more and nothing less.

And speaking of publicity let’s talk about vulture #2, Larry Garrison. He’s been retained by the Anthonys to be their spokesperson. His reputation precedes him.

Garrison, president of production company SilverCreek Entertainment, co-authored a book on the disappearance of missing Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway.

Garrison was also a spokesman for the family of John Mark Karr, the man who gained notoriety for falsely confessing to the murder of JonBenet Ramsey.

    Yeah…that’s who I’d want representing me. 🙄

And lastly not only has Sheriff Kevin Beary asked for credible tips about Caylee he also says that the kidnapping theory floated by the Anthony family is not credible.

“If it is accidental, then I need to know that and people with credible information need to come back and tell me that.”

That would be the accidental drowning theory that many believe is the most likely explanation as to what happened to Caylee.
