    Pamela Rogers gets 7 years

7-year term jolts a tearful Rogers:

Everyone’s favorite statutory rapist is going to do time in the pokey…

McMINNVILLE, Tenn. Near the end of the 59-minute probation violation hearing, convicted sexual offender Pamela Rogers rose to address the judge who would send her to jail for more than seven years.

    “I’m sorry,” she began.

The tears fell first as a trickle that she wiped away with a wad of tissue in a handcuffed hand, but the salty flow quickly became a river of sobs as she further apologized for the pain and the embarrassment her actions of the past two years had brought her victim and his family, her family and her friends.

Then the former elementary school gym teacher asked Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley for mercy.

But the judge was not in a generous mood.

Less than four minutes after her tearful apology, Stanley sternly took the young woman to task for her behavior since she was paroled in February.

“The thing I can’t understand is why, when you were released after seven or eight months in jail, you didn’t blink an eye. You continued at that point to violate your probation and contacted this family, send lewd videos and lewd pictures to the same person,” the judge told the hushed courtroom.

Sitting two rows behind Rogers in the spectators’ gallery, her parents, Lamar and Karen Rogers, lowered their chins and wiped away tears.

In order to deliver a message to the state of Tennessee, the judge said in a measured voice, he was sending Rogers to the Tennessee Prison for Women to serve the remainder of the eight-year sentence that she received in August after pleading no-contest to four counts of sexual battery.

The charges involved a sexual relationship with a teenage boy, then 14, who was a student at the school where Rogers taught, Centertown Elementary. Court documents indicate she had sex with him multiple times, at school, in her car and at his home. After her conviction, she served a few months in jail, then was released on probation and ordered not to communicate with the boy.

However, authorities said that, less than two months later, she sent explicit photos and videos of herself to the boy via cameraphone. They also said she had created a Web page through MySpace.com on which she posted messages to the boy, addressing him by his basketball jersey number, saying she was still in love with him and suggesting she would wait until he turned 18 to continue their romance.

“I don’t mind giving someone a second chance if there’s a reasonable likelihood that they can be rehabilitated, that they will take probation seriously in an attempt to straighten their life out,” the judge said in court Friday. “We all make mistakes, but you have done everything except show this court that you wanted to abide by the terms of your probation and get your life back in order and follow the law.”

The decision pleased District Attorney General Dale Potter, who told reporters: “She deserves what she got.”

Actually, she deserved more, but why should we let justice get in the way of a double standard?

Jefferson County Sheriff: Ft. Drum Soldier Used MySpace to Solicit Teens for Sex:

    Here we go again…

Jefferson County (WSYR-TV) – A 27-year-old Fort Drum soldier thought he was meeting up for sex with a teen, but he was arrested by an undercover Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy instead.

27-year-old Jason Scott Benge of Flower Avenue East is charged with third degree attempted rape and third degree criminal solicitation.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says Benge used MySpace.com to setup a meeting with a 15-year-old and her 16-year-old friend for sex. Benge didn’t know, however, that the 15-year-old was a detective with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Benge allegedly sent explicit emails to the fake teen. Some were also sent from Ft. Drum, according to the Sheriff’s Department. Fort Drum Military Police helped in the investigation.

Benge was arrested when he tried to meet up with the fake teen, by the Sheriff’s Department.

He has been sent to the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Apparently, someone either set up a fake MySpace or vandalized Benge’s MySpace. Because it now says, “I’m in jail because i’m a sick pervert!!!”. Ex-girlfriend perhaps?

Thanks to Steve Huff, I was able to bring you McCombs’ MySpace.

Now, thanks to an e-mail I received from a reader, I can now bring you Sean Brown’s MySpace. One of Brown’s Top 8 friends has changed her screen name to R.I.P. Ashton and left the following comment on Brown’s MySpace…

Matthew McCombs & Sean Brown Arrested in Murder of Ashton Glover:

Crimeblogging’s founding father Steve Huff has written another excellent article. This time it’s about the murder of Ashton Glover and her two killers…

Two men, friends of slain student Ashton Glover, who vanished last week just hours after the teen’s partially buried body was recovered in Sugarland, Texas, have been arrested nearly 1,500 miles away in Michigan after trying to slip across the Canadian border.

Matthew Ross McCombs, an 18-year-old who once boasted on his MySpace Page that he aspired to be a killer and that his goal for this year was to “not get caught,” was arrested Wednesday along with Sean Huston Brown, also 18. Both are charged with murder and are awaiting extradition from Michigan, authorities said.

Steve also brings us Matt McCombs’ MySpace.

I urge you to read all of Steve’s article to see just how callous these scumbags are.

The Search for Chanel Petro-Nixon’s killer continues

Family Of Murdered Teen Ask For Witnesses To Come Forward:

As police search for the killer of a Brooklyn teenager, her family is asking for any witnesses to come forward.

Chanel Petro-Nixon’s body was found June 22nd inside a bag on Kingston Avenue in Crown Heights. The medical examiner has determined she was strangled.

“Somebody out there knows something that led to what happened to Chanel,” said the Reverend Al Sharpton. “I don’t care if they’re black, latino, white. You must come forward. We can’t have community where our children go out with the garbage and we act like it’s normal and remain silent.”

Police are offering a $22,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

As much as I hate to admit it, Al Sharpton is right.

  • Neil Jaramillo a.k.a. Schnail

    Neil Jaramillo a.k.a. Schnail

MySpace used to `lure’ girl, 13:

This one was all Mr. A

He advertised himself on MySpace.com as a “gay Toronto boy” who is a “sweet person” and easy to talk to, but police allege “Schnail” was an online sexual predator who traded child porn and convinced a 13-year-old small-town Ontario girl to perform sex acts on her webcam.

After laying four charges last week against the 23-year-old man, police added four more yesterday, including Internet luring and making child pornography. It appears to be the first case in Canada involving MySpace and an alleged sexual predator.

The short, heavy-set man who police allege is “Schnail” appeared for a bail hearing yesterday at the Old City Hall courthouse. He was granted release if his bail conditions are met and he is to return to court July 20.

Police say they tracked the man down on MySpace, a free website that allows users to customize their own Web pages, with pictures and a “friends list,” links to their profiles and other personal information they wish to post.

In the Toronto case, police allege “Schnail” set up a profile on MySpace and exchanged information with dozens of other users. The 13-year-old girl from southwestern Ontario first made contact with him through a friend, who had the profile on MySpace.

The friend listened to, and liked, some of his musical postings. On his profile, “Schnail” says he plays guitar and loves Nirvana. In the “detail” section of his profile, he says he is “here for dating, serious relationships, friends,” of which he counted 27, according to his online links.

The path that led police to “Schnail” is a confusing and complicated web of make-believe identities and other falsehoods, and is a lesson not just to the young people who use the Internet but also to those who assume their misdeeds will go undetected in cyberspace.

It began after a 45-year-old Montana man named Jimmy Dean Carpenter was sentenced earlier this year to life in prison for sexually abusing three girls, ages 7, 13 and 14.

He also documented his sick exploits, capturing pornographic images and distributing them online.

Police allege one recipient was “Schnail,” who believed he was communicating with a 13-year-old girl when it was actually Carpenter, who sent several images of himself with the 13-year-old in December 2003. In two of the images, she was holding a sign stating: “This is for Schnail,” police say.

Using the email address taken from Carpenter’s computer, investigators with the Toronto sex crimes unit then posed as two adolescent girls, one 12, the other 13, to make contact with “Schnail.”

Police allege he then sent one officer five child pornographic images, that of the Ontario girl, who is now 15, unaware that “Schnail,” who claimed to be 20, was saving the images, said Det. Const. Chris Purchas of the unit’s child exploitation section.

Police allege “Schnail” sent the pictures to coax the officer into posing on a webcam, to show “we should do this … (it’s) normal. Here’s proof.”

Claiming to be gay is another ruse commonly used, Purchas said, since it suggests he is a “safe” contact.

Purchas said the girl’s mother was devastated to find out her daughter had been talked into posing for pictures on her webcam. He said he worries parents don’t fully realize the dangers that exist on the Internet.

Neil David Jaramillo, 23, was arrested last Wednesday at his parents’ home in Toronto.

He was initially charged with luring a child under 14, invitation to sexual touching, possession of child pornography and distributing child pornography. Yesterday he was charged with four additional child-porn offences.

In Mr. A’s own words, here is the “gay” Neil Jaramillo, and here is the “straight” Neil Jaramillo.

Online predator admits using Myspace to lure girl, 12:

An online predator who sent sexually explicit messages to a 12-year-old Clark County girl pleaded guilty Friday to attempted rape.

“I’m the one at risk here,” Jeramie R. Eidem e-mailed to the girl, as he made arrangements for them to meet. “It’s my way or no way.”

It will be Judge John Wulle’s way Sept. 8, when he sends Eidem to prison for at least a decade.

Eidem was arrested Feb. 25 when he showed up at a Vancouver restaurant to meet the girl, who was waiting with a deputy from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. An adult neighbor of the girl had taken pictures of Eidem’s online activities and alerted police.

Eidem and the girl met on the popular Internet site Myspace.com.

The 26-year-old high school dropout was living with his parents in Columbia City, Ore., when he began sending the girl messages and masturbating for her via a Web cam. Once she told him her age, he warned her not to tell anyone.

“No, you won’t go to prison and get raped by men for 50 years. I would,” he wrote.

By that time, the neighbor had alerted police.

Eidem pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted rape of a child, luring with sexual motivation and tampering with a witness with a sexual motivation.

Authorities seized his computer, which had pornographic images stored on it.

But federal prosecutors and the Columbia County prosecutor agreed not to charge Eidem with possession of child pornography as long as he stipulated to a 10-year sentence in Clark County, deputy prosecutor Alan Harvey said Friday in Superior Court.

Wulle, however, can give Eidem a longer sentence.

Eidem will have to register as a sex offender for life.

Obviously, not the sharpest tool in the shed, but then again, none of them are.

This is Ediem’s MySpace, but it looks like it’s been cleaned out since his arrest.

  • Runaway petition dropped against Katherine Lester

Runaway petition dropped against Katherine Lester

Prosecutors to drop runaway petition against teen:

Another chapter in the ongoing drama of Katherine Lester…

SCARO, Mich. (AP) — Prosecutors on Thursday agreed to withdraw a runaway juvenile petition they filed earlier this month against Katherine Lester, the Michigan teenager who flew to the Middle East to be with a man she met on the MySpace.com Internet site.

The decision was part of an agreement reached between Lester, her parents and the Tuscola County prosecutor’s office that requires her to surrender her passport, finish high school, complete counseling and not leave the state without written consent from her parents or a court order.

If Lester, 17, fails to comply with any of the terms, the prosecutor’s office may reauthorize the petition.

Following her return, Lester had been living with her father, Terry, near Flint, in part to escape media attention following her trip. But Renee Wood, a lawyer who represents Katherine Lester’s mother, Shawn, said she stayed with her mother this week and will be back in shared custody.

The teen is a member of the National Honor Society at Akron-Fairgrove Junior/Senior High School. Wood said Lester and her parents have not decided whether she will attend the school for her senior year next fall or go to a different high school.

Katherine Lester and Jimzawi still talk online, and she has said she wants to marry him.

Wood said Thursday that Shawn Lester is unhappy that the pair continue to communicate, but said she wants her daughter to make informed decisions about her future and to be honest with her.

How long before she bolts again?

  • More words of wisdom from the Lesters

More words of wisdom from the Lesters

Teen’s Journey May Have Legal Consequences:

More incredulous words from the ever-increasing spectacle that is the Katherine Lester situation…

“Now that our relationship is out in the open, I feel like I don’t have to go there to talk to him or to be with him,” she continued. “I plan on him coming here and us being together over here.”

Her father has declined requests from The Associated Press to interview his daughter but says her story should serve as a warning to families _ not about the dangers of the Internet but instead about the importance of good family communication.

“She’s her same old self,” said Terry Lester. “She knows what she did was wrong and she’s willing to accept the responsibility.”

In my opinion, it sounds like a grab for US citizenship. Not only that, if there was good family communication, she wouldn’t have run off to the Middle East in the first place. He sounds like one of those parents who is trying to be a friend rather than a parent.

    Reward offered in Brooklyn murder

12G for tips in teen’s slay:

A reward is being offered for information in the murder of Chanel Petro-Nixon

Cops are offering a $12,000 reward in last week’s shocking murder of a promising 16-year-old Brooklyn girl.

Chanel Petro-Nixon was last seen on June 18 when she left her apartment on Fulton St. to fill out a job application at an Applebee’s only a few blocks away. She never made it there and was reported missing.

Chanel’s body was found last Thursday, strangled and stuffed in a garbage bag on Kingston Ave. in Crown Heights.

A straight-A 10th-grader at Boys and Girls High School, Chanel was a devoted Seventh-Day Adventist. Cops are examining her MySpace page for clues.

Family members were stunned that the talented girl could be plucked from the bustling commercial strip without anyone noticing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

Hopefully, someone will give police the information needed to bring her killer to justice.
