    6th NIU victim dies

Former Student Guns Down 6 in Attack at Northern Illinois University; Kills Self:

A 6th student has died from the cowardly attack at NIU. The gunman has yet to be named, but some of the victims have been identified.

DeKalb County Coroner Dennis J. Miller released the identities of four of the victims: Daniel Parmenter, 20, of Westchester; Catalina Garcia, 20, of Cicero; Ryanne Mace, 19, of Carpentersville; and Julianna Gehant, 32, of Meridan.

My thought, prayers, and condolences go out to the friends and families of the victims.

UPDATE: Thanks to Steve Huff, the gunman has been unofficially named as Steve Kazmierczak with the motive of a failed relationship is possible.

Reports: Several people shot at Northern Illinois University:

CNN is reporting that the NIU gunman is dead.

It’s unknown at this time if he was shot by police or if he took the coward’s way out.

    Shots fired at NIU

At least two injured in shooting at NIU

Two people have been wounded by a gunman at Northern Illinois University.

The shooter is allegedly a white male with a shotgun and pistol, and supposedly he’s been taken down.

As usual, as soon as I have more details and time permits, I’ll post more.

    February, it’s the new April.

This is not the first time NIU has been mentioned on this site. Back in December, NIU was in lockdown over threats found in a women’s restroom.

  • E.O. Green Junior High victim declared brain-dead

E.O. Green Junior High victim declared brain-dead

    Oxnard student declared brain dead:

Lawrence King is the 15-year-old who was shot at E.O. Green Junior High School in Oxnard, California on Tuesday. Yesterday he was declared brain-dead and as of the time of the article was being kept alive on a ventilator for organ donation.

The suspect has yet to be named because of his age, but will more than like be charged as an adult with first-degree murder.

Some people are claiming that the motive for the shooting was because Lawrence King declared that he was gay.

The teenager sometimes wore feminine clothing and makeup, and proclaimed he was gay, students said.

“He would come to school in high-heeled boots, makeup, jewelry and painted nails — the whole thing,” said Michael Sweeney, 13, an eighth-grader. “That was freaking the guys out.”

If that is, in fact, the motive, then two lives have been ruined forever just because the gunman is a petty ball of hate.

  • Joe Nee convicted

    Joe Nee convicted

Man Found Guilty In School Attack Plot:

Joe Nee, the ringleader of the plot to attack Marshfield High School, was convicted today of conspiracy to commit murder.

It’s not time to celebrate just yet seekers of true justice. The article states that this was the only charge he was convicted of. Nee was looking at charges of promotion of anarchy and threatening to use deadly weapons at school. The article doesn’t specify if he was found innocent of those charges or not.

Tobin Kerns, who in my opinion had nothing to do with the plot after he sought help, was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and threatening to use deadly weapons at school. He was sentenced to 10 months in jail.

If this is the only charge that Nee is convicted of, he probably won’t see that much time. Personally, I’ll be surprised if he even sees the inside of a jail because of his connections.

  • Other Marshfield witness can’t recall anything either

Other Marshfield witness can’t recall anything either

Former classmates testify in Joseph Nee trial:

Several former classmates of Joe Nee were able to testify about specific details of Joe Nee’s obsession with guns and Columbine. Yet when it came time for the other witness who was granted immunity to testify, Joseph Sullivan also conveniently claimed that he couldn’t recall the details of Nee’s role in the plot to attack Marshfield. Just like Daniel Farley’s testimony.

It almost seems like this trial is being put on just for show.

    Also, the prosecution rested today.

    School shooting in Oxnard

Oxnard teen shot by fellow student:

A shooting took place yesterday at E.O. Green Junior High School in Oxnard, California.

15-year-old Lawrence King was shot by another 15-year-old student of the school.

As of the time of the article, King was listed in serious condition and in intensive care.

The shooting allegedly happened because of a dispute between the two students.

I’ll post more details as they become available and as time permits.

  • Marshfield witness can’t recall details

    Marshfield witness can’t recall details

Witness in ’05 school plot case says he can’t recall many details:

Could the trial of Joe Nee be any more of a joke?

Yesterday, one of the witnesses who was granted immunity, Daniel Farley, all of a sudden, can’t recall details of the plot to attack Marshfield High. Which is funny to me because in the trial of Tobin Kerns Farley had no problems with recollection. You would think that if your ass almost went to jail, you’d remember the details of why pretty clearly.

Farley, who was granted immunity in exchange for his testimony, said during cross-examination: “It’s been dragged out so many years, everything’s foggy. . . . I cannot give an accurate testimony.”

How convenient now that you’re testifying in the trial of the son of the head of the Boston police union.

His father, Thomas J. Nee, president of the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association, said after the nearly seven-hour hearing that he was glad to finally be in court.

“This is where the truth comes out,” he said. “I have faith in the system.”

Don’t you mean faith in collusion? Coercion maybe?

  • Opening statements in Nee trial

    Opening statements in Nee trial

Trial starts for ex-Marshfield student charged in plot:

A little more from the proceedings at yesterday’s trial of Joe Nee.

In his opening statement, Nee’s attorney, Thomas Dreschler, argued that his client deserved the same treatment as ‘informants’ Daniel Farley and Joseph Sullivan. Farley and Sullivan originally fingered Tobin Kerns as theringleader,r then after Kerns’ arrest rolled on Nee. Farley and Sullivan were active participants in the plot but were granted immunity for their testimony in both trials.

In the prosecution’s opening statement, Karen O’Sullivan stated that Nee and Kerns plotted the attack together. I don’t see how she could say that, since in my estimation, all evidence points squarely at Nee.
