  • Golden’s deposition to remain sealed for now

Judge: Keep data secret on gunman:

A judge has ruled that information pertaining to Andrew Golden’s deposition will remain secret until the civil trial has come to an end.

Golden was one of the Jonesboro gunmen and is named as a defendant in a wrongful death suit.

Since his release from prison, Golden has stayed out of the public eye, unlike his cohort Mitchell Johnson. Golden has since changed his name and attends school.

A lawyer has argued that Golden’s information should be made public so people could be informed if a mass murderer is living in their neighborhood.

While I think that both Johnson and Golden should be serving at least a life sentence for those that killed at Jonesboro the law it was it is and it seems that Golden has made the best of his second chance.

Granted that his victims don’t have the luxury of a second chance but if you chase him down with ‘pitchforks and torches’ then don’t the villagers become the monster?

  • Doelitsch’s bond revoked

    Doelitsch returned to KC jail:

Allen Doelitsch has had his bond revoked and has been returned to jail. Doelitsch is accused of plotting an attack against Champion High School in Boerne, Texas. A school that he didn’t even attend.

    Doelitsch admitted to smoking pot.

  • Zarate fools shrink

Psychiatrist: Randolph teen was psychotic when he killed girl next door:

This is an article about the start of a diminished capacity defense hearing for Jonathan Zarate. I just couldn’t get over the first two paragraphs in the article…

A psychiatrist testified today that Jonathan Zarate snapped when his teenage neighbor insulted his brother, and that after beating her until she lay motionless, he stabbed her repeatedly because “he felt she was going to get up and hurt him.”

Clifton psychiatrist Diana Riccioli claims Zarate, 21, was psychotic when he killed 16-year-old Jennifer Parks in his father’s Randolph home on July 30, 2005. Riccioli said Zarate’s irrational thinking took over and he was unable to form an intent to kill her.

So basically what this quack is saying is that Zarate was not responsible for his actions when he beat, stabbed, dismembered, and tried to dispose of the body of 16-year-old Jennifer Parks back in 2005.

This comes straight from the ‘You gotta be fuckin’ kidding me’ department.

I usually don’t hurl insults at people indirectly involved in trials but Ms. Riccioli, you are either the most gullible psychiatrist, the stupidest psychiatrist ever, or you have no soul.

The prosecution basically said that Zarate is a liar and that he fooled the good doctor into thinking he has a mental illness.

The hearing is scheduled to resume Wednesday with the trial allegedly starting on Thursday.

  • Dillon Cossey improving, Mom not so much

Judge praises school plotter, criticizes mother:

At a hearing for would be school shooter Dillon Cossey Montgomery County Court Judge Paul Tressler had some words of encouragement to Dillon.

Tressler, who initially did not recognize the teen, was effusive in his praise of the boy’s progress, especially his weight loss of 73 pounds, down from 305 pounds a year ago. He took a request for a home visit from the boy’s attorney, J. David Farrell, under advisement.

“You’ve done well,” the judge said. “I see you going home – you’ve earned it.”

If you’ll remember Dillon Cossey was the home-schooled kid from outside of Philadelphia who plotted to attack Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School. He also had contact with Pekka Eric Auvinen of the Jokela massacre in Finland but that’s neither here nor there. Also if you’ll recall, Cossey’s mother, Michele Cossey, provided her son with some of the guns he planned to use. Judge Tressler did not have such kind words for her.

Tressler said that although he was pleased with Dillon Cossey’s evaluations, he echoed the concerns of prosecutor Sharon Giamporcaro, chief of the juvenile division, about his mother.

“His major problem is sitting right over there – that lady in blue,” the judge said, looking at Michele Cossey, 47. “You have destroyed this kid. . . . Until I trust you – and I do not at this point – he will not come home to you.”

Visibly upset, Michele Cossey raised her hand, hoping to speak.

“This isn’t a school – just keep quiet,” the judge responded.

Can I get an OH SNAP?

It seems that Michele Cossey had continued her spoiling ways by bringing Dillon food while he was in detention. She’s been told that if she does it again she will be barred from seeing her son for a month.

I’m glad to see a parent being held responsible for once for actions that emotionally damaged their child.

  • Cali craigslist rapist convicted

Santa Clara County jury convicts Craigslist attacker:

26-year-old Kanari Nelson of San Jose, California was convicted yesterday for the assault and rapes of various craigslist prostitutes. He’s looking at a max of 200 years behind bars. That’s not a misprint. He could be sentenced up to 2 centuries.

    Let’s hear from the D.A.

“Anytime this guy wanted to sexually assault somebody, he just had to go online and pick from a menu,” said Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney James Leonard, who won the case.

Craigslist, of course, had no comment but their mouthpiece, Susan MacTavish Best, said there would be a significant announcement about that topic today. I’m all a-flutter wondering what that announcement might be. You don’t think it could be *gasp* that they’re eliminating the erotic services section? Nah. They’d never do that no matter how many women get raped.

  • Zarate statements admissible

Judge: Inmate statements allowed in Randolph teen slaying case:

Superior Court Judge Salem Ahto ruled yesterday that the statements Jonathan Zarate made to other inmates of the Passaic County jail are admissible.

If you’ll recall Zarate made statements to other inmates allegedly admitting to the murder of Jennifer Parks and bragging about how he was going to beat the charge on an insanity defense. He also asked an inmate who was found not guilty by reason of insanity on how to act insane.

Some of those inmates sent letters to the prosecutor’s office detailing Zarate’s statements.

One less hurdle to overcome in putting this scumbag away for life.

  • Fechteler denied parole

Former Newington Student Denied Parole In Attack Plot:

Back in June Frank Fechteler was sentenced to three years plus time served for plotting an attack against Newington High School in Connecticut. Now that he’s served half of his sentence he is eligible for parole.

That request was denied by the parole board because of the seriousness of his crime.

Fechteler was one of these YouTube mutants that posted videos of himself firing guns and setting off homemade explosives. He was 16 at the time of his arrest.

When his house was searched the typical mutant items were found such as a hit list and photos of the cowardly scumbags Harris and Klebold.

    Fechteler gave this heartfelt plea…

“I just want to be the most positive person I can be. I can’t; I don’t know what people are thinking. They could always be scared of me, but if you could hear me right now, you have absolutely nothing to fear about me. I’m a changed person now.”

40 members of the community disagreed when they sent letters to the court requesting that Fechteler not be released early.

Fechteler will be up for parole again in April 2009.

  • Doelitsch released

Teen Accused Of Planning School Shooting Free:

The suspect who was arrested for plotting an attack against Champion High School in Boerne, Texas is now a free man, for now.

A Judge reduced the $500,000 bond on Allen Doelitsch which allowed him to bond out this past Sunday.

Good job judge of letting a depressive would be killer back out into the general public.

  • E.O. Green shooter to undergo psych eval

    Brandon McInerney’s Mental Health Questioned:

I guess the defense for Brandon McInerney will be attempting an insanity defense as they have filed a motion to see if their client is mentally competent to stand trial. Two court-appointed psychologists will evaluate the 14-year-old McInerney.

As you may remember McInerney stands accused in the shooting death of openly gay E.O. Green Junior High student Lawrence King. McInerney has been charged as an adult.

Anyway, I think this is the first straw his lawyers are grasping at trying to prove that he was insane at the time of the shooting. Because I’m sure it had nothing to do with the philosophy of hate that he more than likely subscribed to.

  • Jade’s Book Review: Whisper of Fear

    (Guest post by Jade)

This time it is my great pleasure to review “Whisper of Fear” by Rhonda B. Saunders and Stephen G. Michaud. Penguin Books (who rules, by the way) was kind enough to send me an advanced copy.

Rhonda Saunders is the prosecutor who wrote the stalking laws in California and has helped other states and countries write their stalking laws. She takes you through her journey of how she became a corporate attorney then ended up as a prosecutor. Her writing style is very reminiscent of John Douglas, the former FBI profiler.

Ms. Saunders started prosecuting stalkers around 1993. Little did she know that her first stalking case would continue to haunt her until this day. She prosecuted Madonna’s stalker, Robert Hoskins, and in telling the story also shares amusing anecdotes about trying to get the Material Girl to testify in court.

She also prosecuted Steven Spielberg’s stalker (a nut-job of the highest order) with help from the director himself. Mr. Spielberg was more than accommodating, even to the point of canceling a session with the Los Angeles Orchestra while recording the “Saving Private Ryan” soundtrack. She found Mr. Spielberg to be a friendly, outgoing person whose only concern was for the safety of his family.

Prosecuting Gwyneth Paltrow’s stalker proved to be a little easier because he was legitimately insane. Not that that made him any less dangerous.

Most of the cases she writes about are stalkers who obsess on ordinary people like you and me. Her first stalking case was that of an ordinary woman who was being stalked by a former lover. After being arrested, she continued to stalk her victim and Ms. Saunders. To this day, she still receives threatening messages from this stalker.

She also has a chapter on how to avoid becoming the victim of a stalker, and what to steps to take if you are being stalked.

I will not spoil the rest of the book for you, because if you are a true crime fan, this is a MUST READ!!!

It will be in stores on November 4, which will be an excellent way to get the nasty taste of Election Day out of your head.

Again, thanks to Penguin Books for giving me the chance to review this book in advance.

I don’t use a rating system, but if I did it would definitely be 5 out of 5!
