WWE Releases Benoit Text Messages:
The content of Chris Benoit’s text messages have been made public. Two were sent from his cell phone and three were sent from Nancy’s. 4 of the messages just kept saying his street address, and the fifth told the recipient where his guard dogs could be found. They were all sent between 3:53 AM and 3:58 AM on June 24th.

Holland man suspected of using MySpace to lure teen:
So this guy, 22-year-old Edward Lara-Gutierrez from Holland, MI, travels to Tempe, AZ to have sex with a 16-year-old boy he met on MySpace. Unfortunately, it was not one of those Dateline NBC moments.
Once Lara-Gutierrez arrived in Arizona, he met the victim’s parents. He told them they would be hanging out at a friend’s house for the weekend. Police said he and the victim instead went to a Tempe hotel, where they had sexual contact.
The Victim called his parents from the hotel on Saturday and told them what happened.
The parents then called the police, Horn said. The case is still under investigation, he said.
He lied to the parents about his age and I’m guessing a few other things.
Prosecutors allege Underwood discussed cannibalism:
For those of you new to the party, Kevin Ray Underwood was arrested in the death of 10-year-old Jamie Rose Bolin.
He killed her, sexually assaulted her (in that order), and then was preparing to consume her flesh.
The reason he landed here is that after he killed her and while the police were looking for her, Underwood just casually logged into his MySpace and Blogger accounts.
It’s no secret that Underwood had an obsession with cannibalism. It seems that it was about as far as a secret that you can get…
The claims about Kevin Ray Underwood’s behavior are contained in a witness summary report filed by prosecutors prior to a hearing yesterday in McClain County District Court.
According to the report, Underwood talked to a childhood friend about cannibalism and also talked to a worker at an Oklahoma City haircut shop about cooking organs.
Way to keep it to yourself there, Hannibal. I hope your taste for flesh is worth the needle.
Teacher Gets Nine Months for Bomb Threats:
Michelle Dohm, the middle school teacher from Thurmont, MD who was convicted of threatening students, was sentenced to nine months in jail. She was also sentenced to nine months of house arrest.
The story was one of the more bizarre ones that I’ve posted about. Even after her arrest, Ms. Dohm continued to contact her victims and even after her conviction.
Steroids discovered in probe of slayings, suicide:
I think if the story of the deaths of the Benoits were handed to the WWE writer monkeys, I think even they would think that it was too unrealistic.
District Attorney Scott Ballard told ESPN that 7-year-old Daniel Benoit had needle marks in his arms and may have been given growth hormones for a while because the family thought he was too small.
That was only one of the strange facts that Ballard revealed. He said that two text messages of note caused authorities to investigate the house. In one, Benoit told somebody he knew that his wife and son were sick.
“Of course, they were dead,” Ballard told ESPN.com.
In a second message to a neighbor, Benoit said that the door of the house was open and the pets were outside.
“And our assumption is that that was an effort to try and get somebody to come find the bodies after the suicide,” Ballard said. “That is our assumption.”
That first text message is believed to have been sent to Chavo Guerrero, WWE wrestler, and nephew of the late Eddie Guerrero.
Cops Give Gruesome Details of Benoit Killing Spree:

In a statement by a member of the Fayetteville Sheriff’s Department, “Mr, Benoit had sometime, possibly Friday, murdered his wife by asphyxiation. Sometime shortly after that, the same for his son Daniel and sometime later … committed suicide by hanging himself in the basement area.”
According to officials, Nancy was bound at the wrists and feet, with a towel wrapped around her body, and blood was found underneath her head. A Bible was also reportedly found near each one of the bodies.
Police have also confirmed that prescription drugs and steroids were found in the house.
Benoit was found hanging in a weight room in his house. Cops say that he used a cord from one of his workout machines as a makeshift noose.
After watching Eddie Guerrero die, you’d think that Benoit would have learned something.

Benoit’s History of Domestic Violence Exposed:
TMZ.com is reporting that Chris Benoit may have had a history of domestic violence.
In divorce papers filed in 2003, Nancy Benoit included a petition for protection from domestic abuse against Chris. In the papers, Nancy claimed that Benoit, “lost his temper and threatened to strike the petitioner and cause extensive damage to the home and personal belongings of the parties, including furniture.” Nancy added that she was, “in reasonable fear for petitioner’s own safety and that of the minor child.”
Earlier, I theorized at one of my other sites that maybe it was the threat of divorce that caused Benoit to kill his wife and son.

The causes of death in the Benoit family murder-suicide have been made public.
Pro wrestler Chris Benoit strangled his wife and smothered his son before hanging himself in his weight room, a law enforcement official close to the investigation told The Associated Press Tuesday.
We have a saying here when murder-suicides like this happen, especially when there are children involved. We say, “Be a man, and go alone”.

Authorities Await Autopsies in Deaths of Wrestler, Family:
Here are some ominous and disturbing quotes about the murder-suicide investigation of Chris Benoit and family.
Details of the deaths “are going to prove a little bizarre” when released to the public, Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Autopsies were scheduled Tuesday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Authorities were investigating the deaths at a secluded Fayette County home as a murder-suicide and were not seeking any suspects.
“We’re pretty sure we know, but we want to confirm it with the crime lab,” Ballard said early Tuesday.
Asked about the condition of the interior of the house, Whiteside said investigators found “nothing really out of the ordinary.” He said Benoit was found in the home’s weight room, his wife in an office and the son in an upstairs bedroom.
Whiteside said toxicology tests could take up to a week or longer to complete.
I’ve also heard from another report that the implements of the crime were found at the scene. What they were, police aren’t saying just yet.
The WWE has been urged by authorities not to release any more information.
As a fan, I’m hoping that they’re wrong about the murder-suicide but as a crime blogger, I know they’re not. It always sucks to see one of your TV heroes turn out to be a real-life villain.
State Police to search Virginia Tech duck pond for evidence:
The Virginia State Police will be checking a drained duck pond at Virginia Tech in hopes of finding more evidence about the Virginia Tech massacre.
State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller won’t say what investigators might be looking for. She says they’re following leads and looking for any potential evidence. Once the water drains, teams will conduct grid searches looking for anything that might be beneath the water.
It’s been theorized that they are looking for the missing hard drive that Cho took from his computer.
