Slain Randolph girl’s mom pushes for death penalty:

The mother of Jennifer Parks, Laurie Parks, is calling on prosecutors to push for the death penalty in the murder of her daughter…

“I feel if you take a life, you give a life,” she said. She said her grief has been overwhelming some days, for herself and Jennifer’s father, David, and that she hopes to start counseling soon. She hasn’t been ready so far for therapy, she said.

“I’m not doing good right now. It’s very hard,” she said.

Can you blame her? Considering, her daughter was killed and dismembered by Jonathan Zarate.

Prosecutors have not yet stated whether or not they will pursue the death penalty. While New Jersey does have the death penalty, it’s rarely used.

We also have news out of the Zarate camp…

    Slay case leaves kin wondering:

The relatives of Jonathan Zarate are saying they knew that he had problems. As a matter of fact, he was supposed to have been sent to his aunt in California, who is a psychiatrist. He was supposed to go on August 2nd, but he killed Jennifer Parks on July 30th. Still, no motive was given, but the article uses this as a turning point in Zarate’s life…

He changed from a happy youngster to an angry kid during the breakup of his parents, according to his mother, Flora Mari, who spoke through Fusco. The couple split when he was 8 and divorced when he was 11, according to court records.

Even years later, Zarate spoke about the divorce all the time, according to Moises Mari, a stepbrother who lives in Newport News, Va.

So he was down about his parents’ divorce. Boo-freakin’ hoo. I don’t care if his parents beat him with barbed wire, it’s still no excuse to choke, bludgeon, stab, and dismember a 16-year-old girl.

If this is what the defense will be basing their insanity defense on, then they have their work cut out for them. Then again, this is New Jersey. So we’ll just have to wait and see.

    Esmie Tseng Support Site

Web site urges that teenager be tried as juvenile in slaying: (log in info)

According to the article, friends and supporters of Esmie Tseng, the Kansas teen accused of stabbing her mother to death, have set up a website in support of her at Esmie.com. According to the site, their goal is to keep the case in the juvenile courts while prosecutors want to try her as an adult. Or as they put it in their words…

If Esmie is convicted in the juvenile court system she can get the care and help she needs and 7 years from now could move on with a normal life. If her case is moved to the adult system, the likely penalty for this 16-year-old child will be life in prison. Read Esmie’s bio, and what those who know Esmie have to say, and you will understand that sending this kid to jail for life would constitute not one but two terrible tragedies resulting from that August 19th afternoon.

Personally, I think they’re jumping the gun here a little bit.

By their own admission, details about what happened that day are almost nonexistent. Saying that she needs help and care and letting her move on with her life is a bit premature.

If it turns out that this was nothing more than a cold-blooded killing, then she should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Nee’s lawyer files for change of venue

Attorney seeking venue change for massacre-lot trial:

The attorney for Joe Nee, the always amusing and pervert cop defender Thomas Drechsler, is trying to get the venue changed for his client’s trial…

Drechsler said the change of venue is needed because of the extensive media coverage the case has received. Drechsler has repeatedly said that news coverage, particularly by The Patriot Ledger after Nee’s arrest, would prevent his client from receiving a fair trial locally.

You don’t see Toby Kerns’ lawyer filing for a change of venue. Running scared perhaps?

    Marshfield Follow-Up

One year later, Kerns case crawling forward:

This is basically just the local media report of what I told you about yesterday.

I still don’t see how Joe Nee can be considered a reliable informant when he was arrested for the exact same crime that Tobin Kerns was.

I still say it reeks of preferential treatment.

  • Search Warrant Ruled Admissible in Marshfield

Search Warrant Ruled Admissible in Marshfield

Back in August, I told you that the attorney for Tobin Kerns, William McElligott, was trying to get the search warrant of Kerns’ house suppressed because the police informants were not reliable. One of those informants, Joe Nee, was also arrested for the same plot.

If you remember, Kerns was arrested in conjunction with a plot to commit a Columbine-like assault on Marshfield High in Mass. Well, I heard from someone close to the case today, who said that the Judge has ruled the search warrant as admissible.

This hasn’t made the media yet, and according to the person who gave me the information, it’s unlikely that it will. Anyway, in my opinion, this ruling stinks. Outside of the arrest of Joe Nee, it still seems like he is receiving preferential treatment since he’s the son of a Boston cop. A pre-trial date has been set for September 27th.

  • Anatomy of a Mutant

    Anatomy of a Mutant

I received an e-mail today from one of my usual mutants.

For those of you new to the party, there are two breeds of mutant. Today we’re going to deal with the most predominant form of mutant, the school shooter-worshiping mutant.

This particular mutant by the name of Edgar has a problem with the way I run things around here. He’s been previously banned for…well…being a mutant, so he sent me the following e-mail…

    This is from: Ed

I just want to let you know, trench, that I’m deeply offended by some of the things you and your supporters say about the shooters. They were the only inspiration in my life and just because I am a ‘mutant’ as you childishly call us doesn’t mean I’m inhuman or less deserving of respect than any of you.

Ok, Edgar, I want you to argue your point of view with me. For a limited time, I have rescinded your banishment to the cornfield in order to participate in this thread and this thread alone. Post in any other thread and your ban will be reinstated.

I also want my regular commenters to participate as well, except there will be no name calling. No patronizing. We’re all going to discuss this like adults.

My first questions to you, Edgar are…

    Are you still in school?
    If so, what grade?
Why are two mass murderers your only inspiration in life?

  • Esmie Tseng In Court

    Esmie Tseng In Court

Friends pack courtroom for teenager accused of killing mother: (log in info)

Esmie Tseng, the 16-year-old girl who is accused of stabbing her mother to death, appeared in court today. I’m amazed and confused at the amount of support she is receiving. Is there something more to this story that the media isn’t reporting? I’d like to hear from someone who is closer to this than I am. Your anonymity is guaranteed.

Anyway, Ms. Tseng stated that she was not getting along with her court-appointed attorney, Robb Edmonds, and may want a new lawyer. Her father disagreed…

Her father, Tao Tseng, who sat directly behind her during the hearing, told the judge that he communicated very well with Edmonds.

I trust him, Tao Tseng said.

He said he also was concerned about advice his daughter may be getting from others. He did not elaborate and did not speak to reporters when he left the courthouse.

The judge advised her to rethink her position on her lawyer because she doesn’t know anyone better she could assign.

Getting back to what her father said, I wonder what advice his daughter could be getting and from whom. I have an idea, but it’s pure speculation on my part.

Teenagers think they know everything. I should know. I was like that when I was a teen too. She could be getting advice from friends that fancy themselves better lawyers than those who actually went to law school.

I’ve seen this happen in court before, where teenagers thought they knew more about the law than the judge. That didn’t help them any.

The father is an enigma to me. I’m getting two impressions from him. Either he’s got a really good head on his shoulders and wants to do what’s right for his daughter, or that he could be a controlling type.

Esmie’s attorney gave notice that he may be filing a mental health defense, which is almost becoming standard in teen trials.

The next court appearance for Esmie is scheduled for Oct 12th.

Indictments have been handed down in the Donna High School hazing scandal out of Donna, Texas.

If you remember, several members of the Donna High School football team were arrested for pulling off a freshman player’s pants, slapping around his package and trying to stick their latex-gloved fingers up his ass.

Well, Derick Anthony Castillo, 18; Jacob Leal, 17, Manuel Josue Rivera, 19, and Raynardo Jaime Magallanes, 19, have all been indicted on charges of felony sexual assault and indecency with a child. They’re looking at various sentences ranging from 2 years to 20.

  • Birthday in Hell II

    Birthday in Hell II

September 11th is not a good day in American history. Not only was it the day of the deadliest attack on American soil, but 24 years ago today, one of the Columbine gunmen, Dylan Klebold was vomited forth from his mother’s womb. And like I presented to you last Friday, the mutant worshipers of this cowardly scumbag had birthday wishes for him…

    Saxdomine:

    Hey Dylan!
Congrats on NBK man! I know it didnt go the way you wanted it but it was closeSo 24? Big man! To bad your dead! Youd be one hott mofo!! Hell! you were when you were alive!! Anyway I wanted to wish you a happy b-day, and tell you that Ill be celebrating by turning 16! Haha your only 8 years older than me… nadda lot! haha

    Happy BDay Sexy!

Because as we all know, mass murderers are sexy. 🙄 Are today’s kids really this stupid? I hope this mutant is just an annoying minority.

    O.:

Man, i wish we could have met before you did your mission with Reb, then we could fuck the world up together. I swear, on day, it will be fucking HELL ON EARTH! 24 years old, hum, you might don’t even give a fuck now, and i hope for you that you are not burning in hell… No… i guess you are nowhere, exept in some memories. Be patient

Mission? No. It was nothing more than a killing spree. Missions are for soldiers, not cowards. At least this mutant realizes that his hero is burning in hell.

    Misty:

    ~Dylan~
Your a very special person to many. I hope somehow you know this wherever you may be. I can’t even begin to express, how much you’ve helped me in my life. You will forever be cherished.
    Happy Birthday VoDkA!!<3
    -Misty-

If a mass murdering scumbag helped your life, then it must be really fucked up. You might want to get some real help instead.

    Emerald:

    Dylan,

I’m glad you’ve finally found your ‘wam place’. You’ve done so much for me, and for many others as well. I hope your family, and you as well, have a day filled with good memories and the kindest smiles for you. You’ll be in our thoughts- know that many people care about you.

    Happy, Happy Birthday, Dylan.

    <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

    -Emerald

He might not have found a “wam place” but we all know where his “warm place” is. Could it be…HELL!!!

    Tish:

    Dear Dylan,

I want to wish you a happy 24th birthday today. You were a very special person to all of your family and friends, and I know that they are all keeping you in their hearts today. All of us are also keeping you in our hearts, and we wish you the best birthday ever.

    Tish,
    Webmaster of (some mutant website)

Ok, I added that last part because I’m not about to give free advertisements for mutants. Klebold was not a special person. He was just a cowardly killing psychopath. What about the family and friends of the true 13 victims? I bet they’re not celebrating this cowardly scumbag’s birthday.

And like I said before if these were all just teenage kids it might be dismissed as just a phase. But some of these people are adults. Are your lives so unfulfilled that you have to live your lives through mass murderers? Do you still hold on to high school even though it’s years behind you? You should have dropped the “woe is me” attitude the day they handed you the diploma. Or the day you dropped out.

And parents, any one of these could be your kids. Do you want to be the next parent that’s being reviled in the media? No? Then do something about it.
