  • New York AG targets Facebook

    NY’s Cuomo subpoenas Facebook after company fails to respond:

    First, it was Connecticut’s Richard Blumenthal. Then it was North Carolina’s Roy Cooper. Now add New York’s Andrew Cuomo to the list of state attorneys general who just don’t get it. (Is there any politician from New York that’s not named Cuomo?) Anyway, Mr. Cuomo has subpoenaed Facebook because Facebook did not respond to New York’s complaints that undercover investigators posing as teens were approached for sex.

    Investigators set up profiles as teens and say they were quickly contacted by other Facebook users with comments such as (quote) “u look too hot……. can i c u online,” and (quote) “call me if u want to do sex with me.”

    While entrapment accusations are thrown around willy nilly these days I still have to wonder what the fake undercover Facebook profiles looked like. Was just a class picture type photo or was it something more provocative?

    New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo says he is concerned that Facebook’s promise of a safe Web site for children is not consistent with its performance.

    As someone who chronicles crimes related to social networking sites let me give you my opinion on something. This site used to be called MyCrimeSpace for a reason. It’s because most of the crimes happening on social networking sites occur on MySpace. Very few of those crimes actually happen on Facebook.

    This sounds like Mr. Cuomo is trying to get a lot a press for doing nothing at all.

  • Superman: Doomsday

    So I watched the animated Superman: Doomsday today and it kicked ass. This is the movie that Superman Returns should have been. Lots of Superman smashing the crap out of stuff.

    It’s based on The Death of Superman storyline which I never read so I can’t tell you how accurate it was. One warning though, this is not for little kids. It’s rated PG-13 for a reason. It contains blood and there’s a fairly high body count.

    The only thing I didn’t like about it was they didn’t use the voice actors that were used for these characters during the DCAU. It took me half the movie to get used to Adam Baldwin as Superman. Anne Heche was ok as Lois Lane. But I’m sorry, Clancy Brown is Lex Luthor. Luckily he’s reprising his role on The Batman.

    Anyway, overall I liked it a lot. It’s worth a buy.

  • Boston juvenile prostitute

    A Braintree man is in hot water after allegedly pimping a young girl on the Internet, police say.

    According to the police report, the girl advertised herself as a prostitute on Craigslist. Police set up a sting to apprehend her.

    A plainclothes cop met the girl on West Seventh Street Tuesday morning, and noticed she was accompanied by two males who waited for her in a car.

    The juvenile allegedly offered to provide sex to an undercover officer for $175. After agreeing to the price, the cop placed the girl under arrest for prostitution while nearby cops confronted her companions.

    Joseph Venezia of Braintree was charged with deriving support from prostitution, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and driving with a suspended license.

    Damon Isles of Charlestown, the passenger, was arrested on drug charges, police said.

    But it’s a victimless crime and these girls want to be prostitutes right? Give me a break.

  • Ashton Glover’s killer pleads guilty

    Sugar Land teen pleads guilty in classmate’s killing:

    Matt McCombs, the sick S.O.B. who shot Ashton Glover in the head over morbid curiosity, has pleaded guilty to the crime.

    Under the plea, he was sentenced to 50 years in prison but he will be eligible for parole in 25 years.

    Ashton’s parents, Terry Glover and Sue Smith, were consulted by prosecutors about the plea arrangement before it was finalized and agreed to the terms. Both, along with other family and friends, were in court today.

    Since it seems like Ashton’s parents agreed to the plea I’m not going to complain.

    The article states that no court date has been set for McComb’s partner Sean Brown but as I’ve posted before an Oct. 2 court date was originally set.

  • Prosecutor Scumbag Peepants tries to off himself

    Prosecutor in sex sting arrest attempts suicide:

    It seems that our favorite diaper wearing scumbag pedophile prosecutor John David “Roy” Atchison tried to off himself today. Let me get out the violin…

    John David “Roy” Atchison, the Florida federal prosecutor indicted for allegedly flying from Pensacola, Fla., to Detroit to have sex with a 5-year-old girl, tried to hang himself early this morning at the Sanilac County Jail, officials confirmed.

    The 4 a.m. suicide attempt came only one day after Atchison asked a federal judge to take him off a suicide watch and assured her he would not try to harm himself.

    Atchison tied a sheet around his neck, but the suicide attempt was discovered by sheriff’s deputies before he had a chance to harm himself, Sheriff Virgil Strickler said today.

    “One of the other inmates hollered that he was doing it,” and jail deputies responded quickly, Strickler said.

    The inmate in the adjacent cell raised the alarm.

    When I first caught this story on Topix I left a comment that said I wish he had finished the job but I now take that back. I want there to be a long and lengthy trial followed by the longest prison stay possible. I want him to live his hell every day for the rest of his life.

    As an added bonus someone did a Yahoo search for Atchison’s MySpace handle “fldaddy04”. Besides my site, it also brought up a message board called….ugh, I’m so disgusted…The PeeSearch Community. I was unable to access the user profile and I was not about to go through the requirements to view it. But there at least was a user on that board with the username fldaddy04. Draw your own conclusions.

  • David Laguna sentenced

    Rapist David Laguna Sentenced to 19 Years, 4 months:

    I originally posted about David Laguna here. He’s the scumbag who met a 56-year-old disabled woman over Tagworld, drove 8 hours to her house, and then raped her. He was looking at 26 years behind bars but as you can tell by the headline he only got 19 years and 4 months.

    Read this and tell me he shouldn’t have gotten at least the max…

    From her wheelchair, the trembling 56 year-old victim spoke directly to the defendant at the sentencing hearing: “David, do you know what you took away from me?”

    “In my own home, in my life, there is not peace. I can’t sleep in the hospital bed where I was terrorized. I can’t look at that bed.”

    “I have already lost so much of my life because of my medical conditions but I always had the will and inner strength to cope. Now I have lost that will.”

    The victim suffers from many serious and debilitating illnesses, including Parkinson’s disease, cardiacarrythmia, congestive heart failure, gout, and chronic pain. Her spine is sandwiched between two steel rods that run the entire length of her back.

    Plus she isn’t his first victim…

    After a lengthy trial, which included testimony from the defendant’s former wife that the defendant raped her three days after the birth of their child, while she was recovering from episiotomy surgery, the jury found the defendant guilty of six felony charges including forcible rape and dependent-adult abuse.

    Scumbag should be thrown in a dark hole for the rest of his life.

  • More on Devin Moore’s appeal

    Moore’s appeal keys on racial makeup of jury:

    Like I predicted, not that it was that hard of a prediction, Devin Moore’s attorneys are not only using the GTA defense but they’re also playing the race card.

    Moore was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death in the June 7, 2003, shootings of officers Arnold Strickland and James Crump and 9-11 dispatcher Leslie “Ace” Mealer at the Fayette Police Department.

    Angela L. Setzer, his appellate lawyer from the Equal Justice Initiative of Alabama, told Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals judges that Moore didnÂ?t get a fair trial because the judge had disallowed expert testimony and the prosecutor improperly removed black jurors. She also charges that Fayette County District Attorney Chris McCool inflamed the all-white jury by comparing the crime to FayetteÂ?s own Â?9-11″ terrorist attack.

    Moore, 22, is black and his victims were white.

    He had just turned 18 and was about to be fingerprinted for car-theft charges when he grabbed Strickland’s .40-caliber automatic pistol and shot his three victims before escaping. Moore also tried to shoot out the glass on the police station door so he could re-enter to retrieve his brand-new, $85 K-Swiss sneakers.

    Let me enlighten some people. This was never about race. This was about Devin Moore’s car stealing then subsequent murder of two cops and a dispatcher.

    Would an all black jury bring those people back to life or go back in time and stop Moore from killing anybody? No. Then this appeal has no legs.

    Moore is a cop killer and he deserves to die.

    Feds: Prosecutor sought ‘younger girls’ on MySpace:

    I’m sure by now most of you have heard the story about Florida Federal Prosecutor John David Roy Atchison. Never trust a man with four names by the way. He was arrested for trying to arrange to have sex with a 5-year-old girl from Michigan. That 5-year-old girl turned out to be an undercover investigator.

    Our cousins at Detroit Free Press quote police who say John David Roy Atchison, 53, arrived at the airport in Detroit “with a Dora the Explorer doll, hoop earrings and petroleum jelly for a 5-year-old he planned to have sex with” following a series of online conversations with an undercover investigator.

    “Atchison reassured the sheriff’s deputy who was posing as the child’s mother that he would not hurt the 5-year-old because he goes ‘slow and easy,’ and ‘I’ve done it plenty,’” The Detroit News reports.

    Atchison is married with children, according to the Free Press, which says he runs a youth sports group in Gulf Breeze, Fla.

    So God only knows how many victims this scumbag has.

    Anyway, it turns out that Prosecutor Scumbag had a MySpace…

    A MySpace.com page that a criminal complaint identified as belonging to John David Roy Atchison, an indicted federal prosecutor from Gulf Breeze, Fla., said he enjoyed spoiling young girls.

    Under the user name fldaddy04, name John and caption “Experienced, understanding Daddy,” Atchison allegedly described himself in his profile as:

    “Handsome, educated, professional, experienced Daddy. I love younger girls. Like everything about you…how you think, talk, act. I’m very understanding and supportive..,never ever judgmental.”

    The profile goes on to say that he would like to “pamper, spoil, change and take care of” girls.

    His general interests are listed as “surfing, diving, boating…everything to do with the water…music and cute girls.”

    Just copying and pasting that made me ill.

    A prosecutor and a pedophile. They’re going to love him in prison.

  • Runaway teens pimped out on craigslist

    Police: Runaway NW teens forced into selling sex on Craigslist:

    Here are some more of those victims that prostitution supposedly doesn’t have…

    The case of a runaway Beaverton girl led to a string of arrests in an Internet prostitution investigation over the past three months.

    The case netted several arrests and runaway teens from the Northwest between May and the end of August, according to Beaverton Police.

    Detectives following the report in May of a runaway 15-year-old from Beaverton were led to Los Angeles, where they found the missing girl with 25-year-old Deandre Travon Green of Aloha. Investigators said Green had forced the girl into prostitution through the L.A. Craigslist Web site.

    Information developed in the case led officers to the Extended Stay Hotel on Eider Ct. in August. There they found a 21-year-old woman and a 16-year-old reported runaway from Seattle, both were charged with prostitution, police said.

    A week later, detectives found two girls reported as runaways from Portland and Gresham. The 15- and 17- year-old girls were arrested along with 22-year-old Quentin G. Lewis, who was charged with possession of crack and outstanding warrants.

    But I’m sure the 15-17-year-olds wanted to be prostitutes right?

    Give me a break.

  • GTA Killer appeals conviction

    Appeals court to hear Moore case:

    Devin Moore, aka the GTA Killer, is appealing his conviction in the murders of two Alabama police officers and a dispatcher. When he was arrested Moore said “Life is a video game. Everybody has to die sometime.”

    Of course, during his trial, The One Who Shall Not Be Named got involved and claimed that Moore’s violence was caused by the infamous Grand Theft Auto video game. The Nameless One went as far as to file lawsuits against the game manufacturer and the game retailer.

    The video game defense wasn’t even allowed into Moore’s trial. Moore was convicted and sentenced to death.

    Now Moore and his attorneys are appealing his conviction using the video game argument again…

    Moore, now 22, claimed the video game “Grand Theft Auto” and childhood abuse influenced his decision-making. His theory was rejected and the video game defense was disallowed during trial. He was convicted on Aug. 9, 2005, and later sentenced to death.

    Moore’s attorney, James Standridge, had said that his client suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. Standridge argued that when Moore was in a Â?dissociative state” he automatically reverted to scripted behavior influenced by his repetitive video game exposure and childhood abuse.

    If the video game defense wasn’t even allowed into the trial what makes them think it will work in the appeal. If this actually works then there is no justice anymore.
