  • Doelitsch’s bond revoked

    Doelitsch returned to KC jail:

Allen Doelitsch has had his bond revoked and has been returned to jail. Doelitsch is accused of plotting an attack against Champion High School in Boerne, Texas. A school that he didn’t even attend.

    Doelitsch admitted to smoking pot.

  • Suicide won’t be heard in Lori Drew trial

Suicide evidence likely out of MySpace hoax trial:

Yesterday the federal judge presiding over the trial of Lori Drew said that he was leaning towards excluding the suicide of Megan Meier as evidence.

Personally, I don’t have any problem with this. I don’t want Lori Drew to have an excuse if she is sent to prison. I want it to be done by the books and iron clad.

  • #30 in Nebraska

    Another Safe Haven Teen Abandoned:

Another teen has been dumped off under Nebraska’s wide open safe haven policy. This time it was a 17-year-old boy but at least he was from within the state. No word on what excuse…I mean reason was given for the boy being dropped off.

The woman that dropped him off just made it under the wire. The state legislature is meeting this Friday to revamp the law to limit it to newborns.

Will there be a last-minute rush? Don’t be surprised if there is.

  • Zarate fools shrink

Psychiatrist: Randolph teen was psychotic when he killed girl next door:

This is an article about the start of a diminished capacity defense hearing for Jonathan Zarate. I just couldn’t get over the first two paragraphs in the article…

A psychiatrist testified today that Jonathan Zarate snapped when his teenage neighbor insulted his brother, and that after beating her until she lay motionless, he stabbed her repeatedly because “he felt she was going to get up and hurt him.”

Clifton psychiatrist Diana Riccioli claims Zarate, 21, was psychotic when he killed 16-year-old Jennifer Parks in his father’s Randolph home on July 30, 2005. Riccioli said Zarate’s irrational thinking took over and he was unable to form an intent to kill her.

So basically what this quack is saying is that Zarate was not responsible for his actions when he beat, stabbed, dismembered, and tried to dispose of the body of 16-year-old Jennifer Parks back in 2005.

This comes straight from the ‘You gotta be fuckin’ kidding me’ department.

I usually don’t hurl insults at people indirectly involved in trials but Ms. Riccioli, you are either the most gullible psychiatrist, the stupidest psychiatrist ever, or you have no soul.

The prosecution basically said that Zarate is a liar and that he fooled the good doctor into thinking he has a mental illness.

The hearing is scheduled to resume Wednesday with the trial allegedly starting on Thursday.

  • Canadian craigslist murder?

Police locate 2nd man allegedly lured to Edmonton garage:

I’m sure a lot of you have heard about the murder of John Brian Altinger. In October he was lured to the garage of Edmonton filmmaker Mark Andrew Twitchell where it’s alleged that Twitchell stabbed Altinger to death.

The reason the murder made headlines outside of Canada is Twitchell was a fan of the TV show Dexter which focuses on a forensic worker who is also a vigilante serial killer.

It’s alleged that Altinger was lured to his death under the pretense that he was about to meet a woman.

What none of the media are telling us is that according to a blogger at Smut and Steff who knew Altinger is that the site he met the ‘woman’ over was craigslist.

That would make the third confirmed murder where craigslist was involved in some way.

  • 419 on Facebook

    Cyber criminals target Facebook users:

It seems the 419 scammers have invaded Facebook. How the scam works this time is that they hijack someone’s Facebook profile then send messages to their Facebook friends asking for $500 under the premise that they’re stranded in Nigeria.

I don’t know about you but I think most of Facebook friends do not go to Nigeria on a regular basis. And if any of my Facebook friends were to ever get a message from me saying I’m in Nigeria you’ll definitely know its fake because I don’t even like to leave my house let alone the continent.

  • Husband and wife MySpace rapists plead guilty

Queens strippers guilty of using two underage girls in romps:

I originally posted about Julio Rojas and Sophie Soto here. The pair have pleaded guilty to seducing teens through MySpace, getting them liquored up, having orgies with them, and making them strip in a Manhattan night club.

Apparently, the New York DA’s office is into giving weak pleas because Rojas is only looking at 8 years and Soto is looking at 6.

    Thanks to Gothamist.

  • Realtor has a question for craigslist

I received this e-mail today from Gene who is a realtor if you couldn’t tell by the title…

In my opinion, anything free will inevitably be misused as in the case of underage prostitution, scams and all that I read about here.

I therefore question a few less headline evoking issues. Why has it been that “for profit” enterprises selling various goods and services, including those of an erotic nature, are allowed to post for free

on CL (even the illegal ones) yet realtors must pay to post a rental listing? Are we considered as being vendors of our services in the procurement of leases for the owners we represent? Surely, all the vendors who advertise for free on CL are representing their services (including erotic and illegal) or products made by themselves or another manufacturer are doing this for profit. Why are realtors services for representing their product discriminated against by having to pay a fee per posting.

Is there some “weak link” in the real estate business on CL that needed to be strengthened to prevent some illegal activity ?

I have asked the management of CL this question and have never gotten an answer of any kind.

    Thanks

I’m not surprised you haven’t got an answer from craigslist Gene. They’re not very forthcoming.

Unfortunately, Gene, I do not have an answer for you. I can’t even begin to fathom the thought processes at craigslist.

Also from what I understand you’re better off not posting on craigslist since the odds are pretty good your ad could be hijacked by a scammer.

Anyway, I’ll open it up to the readers. Do you have an answer for Gene?

  • Nexopia user is three time loser

Calgary man pleads guilty to trying to lure teens over the Internet:

27-year-old Matthew Allan Armstrong of Calgary pleaded guilty to three differences of luring underage girls over Nexopia. One of the girls was a 20-year-old posing as an underage girl after watching ‘To Catch a Predator’, another was an undercover police officer, and one was actually a 15-year-old girl.

After he was arrested he violated his parole by using an internet cafe to contact another underage girl.

This guy should be put away forever because even the threat of prison couldn’t get him to stop.

  • Dillon Cossey improving, Mom not so much

Judge praises school plotter, criticizes mother:

At a hearing for would be school shooter Dillon Cossey Montgomery County Court Judge Paul Tressler had some words of encouragement to Dillon.

Tressler, who initially did not recognize the teen, was effusive in his praise of the boy’s progress, especially his weight loss of 73 pounds, down from 305 pounds a year ago. He took a request for a home visit from the boy’s attorney, J. David Farrell, under advisement.

“You’ve done well,” the judge said. “I see you going home – you’ve earned it.”

If you’ll remember Dillon Cossey was the home-schooled kid from outside of Philadelphia who plotted to attack Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School. He also had contact with Pekka Eric Auvinen of the Jokela massacre in Finland but that’s neither here nor there. Also if you’ll recall, Cossey’s mother, Michele Cossey, provided her son with some of the guns he planned to use. Judge Tressler did not have such kind words for her.

Tressler said that although he was pleased with Dillon Cossey’s evaluations, he echoed the concerns of prosecutor Sharon Giamporcaro, chief of the juvenile division, about his mother.

“His major problem is sitting right over there – that lady in blue,” the judge said, looking at Michele Cossey, 47. “You have destroyed this kid. . . . Until I trust you – and I do not at this point – he will not come home to you.”

Visibly upset, Michele Cossey raised her hand, hoping to speak.

“This isn’t a school – just keep quiet,” the judge responded.

Can I get an OH SNAP?

It seems that Michele Cossey had continued her spoiling ways by bringing Dillon food while he was in detention. She’s been told that if she does it again she will be barred from seeing her son for a month.

I’m glad to see a parent being held responsible for once for actions that emotionally damaged their child.
