Spencerport rapist accused of looking at victim’s MySpace page:
50-year-old Jeffrey L. Tewksbury was previously arrested for having sex with a 16-year-old girl and was given 10-years probation. The parents of the girl had agreed to that sentence to spare the victim from having to testify.
Now Tewksbury is in hot water for accessing the girl’s MySpace. Part of his probation was to not have any contact with the victim.
Tewksbury could be sent to jail for four years.
he should have gotten 4 years in the first place. he’s 50 and she’s 16? i think i just threw up a little.
Gross…yes. Illegal? Seems kind of hypocritical.
This same site that wants us to try 16 year old males as adults says that a 16 year old girl who also makes a poor choice is a “victim” who needs protection from herself.
So which is it? Are 16 year olds not fully developed mentally, and therefore entitled to legal protections against harsh rules for an adult world? Or are 16 year olds fully mature adults who should be held as accountable as a 30 year old who commits the same crime?
Seems like we want it both ways…”You’re too stupid to pick who you have sex with, but, if you beat the snot out of someone, THEN we’re going to treat you like an adult!”
a 16 year old is capable of making a decision to have sex…i knew at 15 that i didnt want it. she really isnt a victim….but the fact that she was with someone old enough to be her dad IS gross. im assuming there are some home problems with the girl for her to turn to an old man for something like that.
and also, is tewksbury stupid? regardless of the whole event…if you got off the way like that, why the heck contact her??? now that seems pretty stupid.
i think teens need to be held accountable too, for deciding to go have sex with someone older…i mean we arent talking about a 12 year old who knows nothing about sex…if your 16, there is a 90% chance of knowing what sex is, and if you want to or not…its no different than all the other teens i know who have kids, with other teens.
im seriously leaning towards the girl using the old man as a way of filling up some void in herself.
This was consensual sex and the young girl was 10 days away from the legal age of 17. This guy had a bad judge who likes throwing people in jail who haven’t harmed anyone.
