Dr. Phil backpedals

The Dr. Phil show is now stating that the representative that bailed out Mercades Nichols violated the show’s rules and they will not be going forward with that story.

“In this case, certain staff members went beyond our guidelines (re the bail being paid). These staff members have been spoken to and our policies reiterated. In addition, we have decided not to go forward with the story as our guidelines have been compromised,” the statement read.

Uh-huh. Sure. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the court of public opinion coming down on them like a ton of bricks.

ps — I really did lose respect for Dr. Phil after hearing of him bailing out Mercedes Nichols. I have to agree with a post from another page, that it sure looks like ambulance-chasing.

I used to love your show. You are now like the rest…All about ratings. Dont even try to pay off one of your crew to make “US” think for 1 minuute you were not trying to get the “scoop”. You make me sick!!!!!! Your show will go down for this….Your cant PAY off enough people for this one…

I think Dr Phill is giving these girls exactly what they want.. “Fame”… i use to watch dr phill a bit he was pretty popular over here in australia but now i can see his ratings going right down.. the whole worlds is pissed off at these bitches i am for sure one of the 100,000’s of people i was ready to jump on a plane and fly to the use n smack those bitches when i heard about what had happened, theres no need for such an animalistic attack and there sure is no need for any of those teens to see daylight for a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY long time…. DR phill your an idiot im disgusted in you… and i hope your show goes right out the window…. harsh i know but be realistic here… 8 people have traumatised a poor girls life she will never be the same girl ever again thanks to them (oxygen theives)

This was the last straw for me with Dr. Phil. Thanks for giving these 6 girls the attention they wanted for beating a girl. Has the VICTIM recovered yet? How about have her on the show? Nah, would make too much sense. I think the show owes the amount of money they paid to bail out the ring-leader lurer to the victim.

I lost my respect for Dr Phil a while ago. I appeared on his show and never have been treated so badly.
The other person on the show lied and gave documents that had been altered. The staff didn’t bother to check out her story, they didn’t care what the truth was.I was assaulted on the plane on the way home, but again the producers didn’t care. Then this latest incident just proves all he is interested in is ratings..They need to boot him off TV.. He is worse than the Jerry Springer Show….

It was a very sad day witnessing a group of teens beat up a single helpless girl on tv and to think that another tv show was bold enough to bail the ring leader&nbspout of jail for monetary gain&nbspwas even more repulsive. Dr. Phils ratings must have gotten pretty bad. Oprah, what do you have to say for yourself!!! You gave this man&nbsphis start. I’m proud to say I’ve never watched a Dr. Phil show through to the end. That said, I did start to watch one (and then promptly changed the channel after I realized his show is in the same leauge as Springer) and I remember him yelling at some horrible child “You CAN NOT call your stepmother a WHORE!!!”. Now, whenever I hear his name or his voice…. those words always come back to me…in a horrible southern accent.

“You CAN NOT beat up other PEOPLE! (but if you do, I’ll bail you out and you can tell your story on my show…)”
