The latest news in the disappearance of Caylee Marie Anthony is, of course, the prison phone call that Casey Anthony made to her family.
Local6 has the complete transcript. The Orlando Sentinel has the complete recording. (Look for the link at the top next to “Listen to Casey Anthony’s call from jail”)
As usual, my attention focuses on Grandma Cindy Anthony with this quote from the phone call…
“Whose fault is it you’re sitting in jail?” Cindy Anthony said. “Are you blaming me you are sitting in the jail? Blame yourself for telling lies. What do you mean it is not your fault? What do you mean it’s not your fault, sweetheart? If you would have told them the truth and not lied about everything…”
Again I have to question just how much Grandma Anthony knew beforehand.
Another big part of the saga is that Casey’s family visited her in jail yesterday. Casey’s brother, Lee Anthony, spoke to the press and it seems that he’s helping Grandma circle the wagons.
Lee said Casey cleared up a couple of things that detectives thought were lies from the beginning, where Casey worked and the connection to a mystery babysitter named Zanaida. He said Casey worked at Universal Studios, but was a contract employee with Kodak, and later Colorvision, so no Universal records would show she worked there.
Casey told investigators she met Zanaida through two co-workers. She said one friend used Zanaida as a nanny for his son.
“Now we can actually verify these are real people,” he said “We need to contact them. Now we’re one step closer to finding this person that took Caylee.”
It will be interesting to see if those employment records pan out. As far as the baby sitter goes I was under the impression that she had already been found by police and interviewed…
Detectives said they checked with apartment management and learned that no one has lived in the apartment for five months.
Late Wednesday, Caylee’s alleged baby sitter was tracked down by detectives and the woman said she has never cared for the missing child.
A lie never becomes the truth no matter how many times you tell it or how many people tell it.
