Jury recommends death for Underwood

Jury recommends death in Underwood case:

It took eight hours for the Oklahoma jury to recommend the death sentence for Kevin Ray Underwood. I wonder what took them so long.

If anybody deserves the death penalty it’s Underwood. He killed, raped, and dismembered 10-year-old Jamie Rose Bolin, in that order. He also wanted to consume her flesh because he thought he was a cannibal.

In my opinion, there will be no justice until Underwood no longer draws a breath.

I agree, as I’m an avid supporter of the death penalty.

I’m also an avid supporter of a bullet to the head instead of all this pussy lethal injection, try not to hurt him as you ill him type of execution.

I am glad that kevin got the death penalty.. I knew of kevin when i lived in purcell and everytime i saw him before this, he would just make my skin crawl. When this horrible thing happen to jamie i was mortified. I thank god everyday that he gets the death penalty .. But god knows how long it will be before he gets the injection… I think that he should be released into the jail here in Norman and let the other jail mates take care of him. I dont want my tax money or anyone elses to go to his food and care of him while he is waiting… He deserves to die just like what he did to jamie. God rest her soul and my Prayers go out to her family to this day, now they can have closure.

I sat as a juror on this trial. I know in detail what Underwood’s plan was to do to her. Jamie’s dad told us what it was like when he realized his baby girl wasn’t at home. I watched the taped confession from Underwood. I had the grey plastic tub with the duck tape still around it sitting in the courtroom floor in front of me, the tub that he stored Jamie’s body in. Her little bicycle was taken apart just the way it was found in the black duffel bag in his other bedroom closet. It was also in the courtroom. I had to look at the autopsy pictures of Jamie, see the fingernail marks all around her nose from where he bore down so hard that it cut her skin when he was trying to suffocate her. I had to hear about how she finally went limp and stopped breathing and when he crawled off of her she gasped air back into her lungs and he chose to suffocate her all over again. I had to hear awful, evil things every day for 2 solid weeks about what Kevin Underwood did to that precious little girl. I deliberated with my co-jurors for eight long hours. Eight hours of talking, crying, yelling, praying. We came to our verdict and we, just like everyone else that was affected in a personal way by Kevin Underwood’s decision, must live with the scars left on our hearts for what he did. I must also live with the scars of putting a person to death. I don’t know who the person was that wrote that mean comment about not knowing what took the jury so long to come to the verdict but I do know this: We jurors took our job very seriously, if we would have came to a decision within the first 20 minutes, chances are Kevin Ray Underwood’s attorneys would appeal because the jury did not fully consider all of the information.

Just a figure of speech Juror. No insult intended.
