Trial starts for Joe Nee

The trial for the second suspect in the plot to attack Marshfield High school in Massachusetts started today. The first ‘suspect’, Tobin Kerns, was convicted for his alleged role in the plot and was sentenced to 10 months in jail.

It’s no secret that I think Tobin Kerns was actually set up by the defendant in today’s trial, Joe Nee. For all my posts on that, you can check the archives.

Here are two articles about today’s proceedings. Pretty much both of them say a whole lot of nothing. All they say is that there were opening statements and witness testimony. Way to display those journalism degrees guys. Considering that the trial of Tobin Kerns was documented in detail by both newspapers this is ridiculous.

As I’ve mentioned before Nee’s father, Thomas Nee, is the head of the Boston police union. Is it possible that the media is downplaying this trial because of some kind of arrangement with the Boston Police Department? That’s pure speculation on my part but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

This is one case that has bothered me. The fact two of the alleged plotters in this case were given immunity says to me that they have a big incentative to lie, espcially where Tobin was involved. He’ll be out next month but with a felony record forever following him

If you believe any newspaper would make a “deal” with the Boston Police Department, your really out there buddy.

So there’s no way that the head of the Boston policemen’s union would ever say to a reporter go easy on this one and will be more press friendly in the future?

Ya right, these reporters would step over their grandmothers to get a scoop.
Your living in a dream world if you think a union leader has that kind of influence. He is a union leader, that and $2 will get you a cup of coffee.
    Saying to a reporter…
Go easy? We’ll make it up to you down the road?
Yeah that’s the way it works.

I’ve personally seen it happen in other cities like Philadelphia. I don’t see why Boston or Marshfield would be any different.

Uhhhhhhh…that is the way it works. And a union leader of a fairly fairly large union has PLENTY of influence. Don’t live under such a shell.
