Hainstock sentenced

Hainstock Sentenced To Life In Prison But With Parole Possibilities:

Eric Hainstock has been sentenced to life behind bars with the possibility of parole in 30 years for the shooting death of Weston Schools principal John Klang.

Judge Patrick Taggart said that he considered Hainstock’s age and background before sentencing. He said that he believes the teen can be rehabilitated, WISC-TV reported.

Defense attorneys had requested parole eligibility after 20 years while the state had requested 49 years with the date of eligibility being Sept.29, 2056 — or 50 years after the shooting at Weston Schools, WISC-TV reported.

The jurors who convicted Hainstock said that they focused on the guns and ammunition that he brought to school and the number of shots fired in determining his intent to murder.

Juror Brian Ludolph, of Prairie du Sac, said on Friday the fact numerous shots were fired by Hainstock convinced them the student intended to kill Klang. Ludolph said that Hainstock bringing the guns and ammunition to school also played into their finding of intent.

Juror Diana Mielke, of North Freedom, said that the jury was initially split on whether Hainstock intended to kill Klang.

Mielke said that she was initially among the six who thought Hainstock didn’t have intent to kill, but changed her mind after recalling Hainstock’s lack of emotion during the trial.

Thankfully there was a jury with common sense who recognized Hainstock’s intent and weren’t fooled by his lies.

Justice has been served.

While you’re at WISC’s website take the poll and let them know how you feel about the verdict and sentence. You can probably guess how I voted.

Sounds like it’s just about time for Hainstock to disappear from these pages and into the bowels of our prison system. You’re gonna get torn apart in there kiddo. In fact, I’d bet they can already smell fresh fish.

If only this would be the last we’d hear from him. They’ll be appeals. There are always appeals.

He’ll be 3 years older than I am now before he is even eligible for parole…I guess that works. I still think “life” should mean “life”…or else it’s not REALLY life is it?

I believe in the non-agression principlee. The only time I believe it is right to kill someone is to prevent someone from killing you and the only time to use force is to repel force.

Without doubt, the principal should not have been killed….however, has the school district learned anything ?
Will administrators and teachers finally begin to stop harassment in their schools ?

I agree. Hainstock should not have harassed his teachers or other students.

    Whatever

It sounds good on paper doesn’t it? Doesn’t work that way in reality though.

ZappaCrappa refute my point in detail. If a another country is about to attack our country or if individual a is about to kill b shouldn’t b kill a to protect his life. Same thing with countries, if country A were to attack country B shouldn’t country B have the right to defend itself from attack?

Now what are you trying to say here? And Please no ad hominem attacks. All I want is what your thinking is and what you believe.

Let’s take it to a more personal level than countries. let’s try this. Neighbor A molests my daughter. He poses no threat to her life. He poses no threat to my life. I would still kill him. Slowly and painfully if possible. That doesn’t meet any of your requirements…yet I think Iwould be fully justified. And as a juror…I would have a hard time convicting anyone who did the same.

I would be pissed too and this is going to be very tricky. First of all I would want to kill the bastard too and like you said slowly and painfully. In fact I would want to deball the molestor painfully. This is what I believe though. What you’re espousing is vengeance not justice. If he was in the process of molesting your daughter then yes I believe you have the right to take him out to protect your daughter otherwise you would be killing in cold blood no matter the motive was. Yes, the jury would recommend a lesser sentence and if I was on that jury I would recommend the easiest sentence on you possible.

Just my thoughts and 2 cents

Just what kind of Utopian nirvana would Ginger like to create in Wisconsin public schools anyways? I’d love to see her definition of “harrassment” and love to hear her “zero tolerance” policy on that.

Wisconsin had zero tolerance for guns on school grounds too. But like a typical liberal, she can’t stay focused on that issue- she glosses over the failure of the liberal “zero tolerance policy” on guns, because to her, its okay to bring a gun to school if it is used to avenge any act of judgement or inequality.

    You are 100% correct…that IS vengence…I’m a big believer in it -) In a way…it is also justice. It just isn’t a government’s or society’s justice…it is personal justice.

I wasn’t trying to provoke you…I guess what I was trying to say (and obviously I didn’t do a very good job of it) is that I DO agree with you IN THEORY on non-agression principles. But reality doesn’t always cooperate with theory. Throw in emotion and theory sometimes gets shot right out the window. I guess none of us REALLY know how we will react (regardless of what we say and what we believe) until we are actually put into a situation.

And when principals and teachers do EVERYTHING they need to do to stop it…the same crowd will immediately begin crowing about how dress codes, zero-tolerance behavior codes, searches, etc. are unconstitutional and turning our children into robots with no individuality. So when you come up with a way to make EVERYONE the same and equal in all respects, make sure they ALL have the same IQ, the same athletic ability, the same talents, etc…I bet you could accomplish that.

Here’s a novel idea Ginger…when are PARENTS going to take responsibility and actually raise their children instead of expecting the schools and government to do what THEY are suppossed to be doing? Sorry…I know that’s not fair asking parents to actually be parents…what the hell was I thinking?

“Will administrators and teachers finally begin to stop harassment in their schools ?”

That statement shows EVERYTHING that is wrong with people’s attitudes these days.
