The tapes will NOT be released

Sheriff to Release Columbine Documents:

But not the tapes…

Sheriff Ted Mink said he decided against releasing the tapes after the FBI, which conducted a review at his request, concluded they “could serve as a strong motivating influence for other adolescents to commit and/or attempt to commit similar acts of violence. The tapes provide instructional material for how to successfully plan and implement similar acts.”

It’s a little too late for that now, isn’t it? Do Red Lake, Rocori, and Santee ring a bell?

As I’ve said before, it’s evidence to a crime and it should be released. Until then, the Denver Post will keep sueing.

“…could serve as a strong motivating influence for other adolescents to commit and/or attempt to commit similar acts of violence.”

Motivating influence? You really believe crazy people (the kind, you know, that would kill) need motivation from this evidence to kill? Does this guy read the news? There’s people out there that would kill over getting a sandwich with too much mayo on it.

“The tapes provide instructional material for how to successfully plan and implement similar acts.”

Has he even heard of the internet?

Does this guy really think he’s fooling anyone?

I agree with Alyric! If someone is gonna kill, they are gonna do it regardless of what they watch, listen to, or read, etc. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

This judge needs to realize that not everyone out there is a killer. There are many people who need to be educated about Eric and Dylan and the whole Columbine mess. Someone could possibly learn something from it and help prevent something like this from happening again.

Heh…o_O…to say, that sheriff is about as dumb as the ones down here. And people who kill don’t need motivation, well…kinda. They don’t need to watch a damn tape. God forbid they must watch it to remind themselves how to kill. Girly little douche bags…and you can find anything on the internet now. Not just by watching a damn tape. Fools. I agree with Alyric and Anomynous. Yes indeedy.

This is a bad idea, it’s just going to fuel the idea that the authorities concerned had chances to prevent the shooting Columbine, but screwed up.

As I believe Trench has said in the past, this could go down as one of the most preventable shooting in recent years.
