Dyleski enters plea

Dyleski pleads not guilty: (Log in info)

Nearly four weeks after his arrest, Scott Dyleski pleaded not guilty Wednesday to murder in the killing of Pamela Vitale, a former high-tech executive and the wife of a well-known local defense attorney.

The 17-year-old, who has been charged as an adult in the crime, entered his plea as he stood in “the cage,” a metal and glass structure that is reserved for defendants in custody.

The District Attorney’s Office has charged Dyleski with murder and assault with a deadly weapon. He faces up to 26 years to life in prison if convicted.

Outside the courtroom Wednesday, three friends of Dyleski said they had showed up to support him. Immediately surrounded by cameras and reporters, they described him as kind and said they were shocked when they heard about his arrest.

    1. in regard to the supposed inndex cards-prosecutors are not allowed to release this info-its fictional-keep a critical eye on sources obtained by news media-all info is from police authorities and prosecution which slants things disfavorably for scott (the defendant)-how many statements have you seen published citing the defense as a source? exactly. 2. i went to acalanes and students and parents are self-interested and competetive to the point of being sociopathic, the treatment that scott endured, i shutter to guess ( not that this warrents murdering or hurting anyone). it is sad that he is now a poster child for what people in these types of communities should fear, which could serve to further ostracize kids who are already outcasts at school. the whole thing is completely unfortunate, but especially the harmful effects of a highly biased media portrayal. sad.

Exactly! I totally agreee. The media had him charged, tried and sentenced the minute he was named as a suspect! I recently moved to Lafayette where an acquaintance of mine had a child in Acalanes High School and she is living proof of the effects this school and the community has on “outsiders”. High school in itself is a very difficult time and kids can be so cruel. But in Lafayette this is triple-fold because of the parents raising the kids to believe the more “things” you have the better person you are – what a warped since of being. Scott’s own friends turned against him just to get in the limelight. I seriously doubt Scott committed this murder but rather is a convenient scapegoat for the media, law enforcement and the people of Lafayette!
