Longmont student pleads guilty to attempted murder:
14-year-old Jackson Crutcher of Silver Creek High school in Colorado has pleaded guilty to the charge of attempted murder. Crutcher was the kid who stabbed a female classmate in the back with a pair of scissors for no discernible reason.

For his heinous act he was sentenced to a whopping five years probation. That's just lovely. That will give him plenty of more opportunities to stab somebody else. As usual the criminally violent get a pass...

Crutcher also must stay on a strict treatment regimen of medicine and therapy, wear a monitoring device around his ankle and keep away from the victim -- a freshman girl whom he said he didn't know. The plea deal was partly based on a determination that Crutcher had a previously undiagnosed mental illness, Collins said.

Because as we all know ankle monitors are foolproof. If he's nuts he should be committed.

Boy charged with second-degree attempted murder in attack on classmate:
14-year-old Jackson Crutcher has been charged with second degree attempted murder for stabbing another student at Silver Creek High School with a pair of scissors.

Crutcher was charged as a juvenile but has been released on bond...

Under his bond conditions, he must attend treatment sessions at the hospital from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. seven days a week, wear an ankle bracelet monitor and remain under his parents’ supervision 24 hours a day.

The doctors have determined he is no longer a danger to himself or the community, according to prosecutors.

Still no motive in the attack.

Boy, 14, held in stabbing:
The suspect's name in Thursday's stabbing at Silver Creek High School in Colorado is Jackson Crutcher.

Boulder County Judge T.J. Cole ordered him held for a psychiatric evaluation.

Police arrested Crutcher on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, attempted first-degree assault and second-degree assault, according to police reports. Prosecutors will determine what charges they will file against Crutcher.

According to the article Crutcher had several friends and was well liked.

A motive for the stabbing is still unclear at this time.

No word yet if he will be charged as an adult or not.

The victim is recovering well.
