Stephen McCaskill of Crime Scene Blog has started a new venture called For the Missing.

In Stephen's own words...

This is site was created to act as a repository for missing person’s cases from all over the country and from time to the world.

If you have a missing loved one, regardless of their age, please contact me. Send any details about this person, and photographs if you have them, and I will post the information at this site. If you’d like to be contacted, please let me know where to direct readers.

I think this is a great idea that will bring the spotlight to missing persons cases that for whatever reason would not be covered by the national media.

I think I speak for everyone hear at CrimeNe.ws when I say we wish Stephen the best with this project and we hope it will become a great asset to those with missing friends or family members.

The webmaster at the Missing and Abducted Blog sent me an e-mail asking if I could help out with finding William Lamar. I only wish I could have helped sooner but was out of reach during the holiday weekend.



William Lamar 18,: Missing 10/28/05 believed to be in England or Germany:

William Lamar,18, went to Logan Airport in Boston boarded American Airlines flight 156 to London’s Heathrow Airport on Oct. 28th. He had cleaned out his checking account to purchase a round trip ticket to return on Nov. 4th. He did not board that return flight, and American Airlines say his ticket has not been used. His family also did not know he had purchased the ticket to London until after he departed. Even though William is 18, he suffers from Aspergers Syndrome. Asperger’s syndrome, a form of autism most commonly marked by difficulty socializing with others. At this point William does not have access to money and has not contacted friends or family or accessed any accounts other than the checking account used to purchase the ticket. William is also a fan of the band Rammstein and may have attended a signing session in London. He also has an interest in the country of Germany and speaks the language. William is incredibly brilliant, but lacks social skills which could make traveling complicated and confusing. Please see the letter below and links to the stories in the news about William Lamar.

MISSING PERSON – WILLIAM LAMAR – LONDON SIGNING SESSION
Since Friday, Oct. 28th, William Lamar has been missing. It is known that he boarded a plane from the US to London, UK on this date. His parents assume that he was planning to attend the Rammstein signing session there. Since this day no one has heard anything from him. William´s parents are very concerned and worried as William is not well and may need medication. We would like to ask everybody who has attended the London signing session and possibly met William there or at a later time to call one of the below telefone numbers.
William, when you´re reading this, please get in touch with your parents!
It is possible that Williams has in the meantime travelled to Germany - any information can help! Here´s the letter of his parents:

We are trying to get word to our son, William Lamar, who has been missing from the US since Friday, October 28, 2005. We want to know that he is safe and hope he will contact us soon.

Eric, of Eric Grumbles Before the Grave is looking for a blogger from LA:

One of the Life, Liberty, Property bloggers, Kevin of Louisiana Libertarian, is from New Orleans. He talks about Katrina in this entry, and mentions what part of the city he lives in. His last post was on Saturday, 8/27/05. None of us have heard from, either by email or post.

If anyone knows that status of Kevin, please let us know.

One of my readers on the Latoyia Figueroa thread came forward and said that she too had a missing relative. A commenter by the name of Michelle said that she is the sister of Marilyn Niqui McCown. She has been missing since July 22, 2001 when she disappeared from a laundromat in Richmond Indiana. The link provides all the details you need. Remains Found:
It seems that more than likely the body of LaToyia Figueroa has been found As far as suspects go...

Police say the Figueora's ex-boyfriend was found blocks away from the scene wearing a bulletproof vest. He and a suspected accomplice have been charged in connection with her death.

Pregnant Philadelphia woman missing for 9 days:

Police in Philadelphia are searching for a 24-year-old pregnant woman who has been missing for more than a week. Latoyia Figueroa was last seen on the afternoon of July 18 in the area of 59th and Walton.

Figueroa, a 5-foot-2 African American, is five months pregnant and has a 7-year-old child. She has long, dark brown hair and brown eyes and two tattoos -- an angel on her right wrist and her daughter's name on her left arm.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Philadelphia Southwest detective division at 215-686-3183.

The Philadelphia Citizens Crime Commission has established a reward fund for information about the whereabouts of Figueroa. Santo Montecalvo, vice president of the crime commission, said that as of Wednesday morning the fund was up to $10,000.
