Teen threatened to shoot students, school officials, police officer:
17-year-old Sterling Lindbloom of West High school in Manchester was arrested for making threats against his school. It seems that he was motivated to do so because a girl broke up with him.
Megan dated Lindbloom for two weeks last year when she broke up with him. On Wednesday night, however, she called him after he left a message on her cell phone.
During that phone conversation Lindbloom told her, "People need to watch their backs because something bad is going to happen to the school," according to court papers.
Police said Lindbloom told her he planned to shoot Assistant Principal Gary Dempsy, student Skylar C., teachers and staff, Naval Junior ROTC Commander Ed Hafner, Officer Branch and Megan.
When Megan asked if he didn't care about ruining his life, Lindbloom told her, "I don't care. You won't go out with me. You and nobody else will go out with me."
"So you are just going to shoot everybody?" she asked. Lindbloom, police said, told her yes and that she would be next to the last to be shot. He would be the last.
After his arrest police found four knives, two hatchets, ammunition and a copper pipe that he had stashed out in the woods. To me that sounds like he could have been trying to manufacture a zip gun. However Lindbloom allegedly intended to go to Massachusetts to either purchase or steal weapons.
Linbloom entered guilty pleas on charges of five counts of criminal threatening, one domestic-related but the judge refused to accept the plea and ordered him held over for trial.
Kids, I can't stress this enough. No boy or girl that you dated in high school is worth ending yours or anybody's life over. Trust me, once you get out of high school the dating pool becomes wide open.
