Longmont student pleads guilty to attempted murder:
14-year-old Jackson Crutcher of Silver Creek High school in Colorado has pleaded guilty to the charge of attempted murder. Crutcher was the kid who stabbed a female classmate in the back with a pair of scissors for no discernible reason.

For his heinous act he was sentenced to a whopping five years probation. That’s just lovely. That will give him plenty of more opportunities to stab somebody else. As usual the criminally violent get a pass…

Crutcher also must stay on a strict treatment regimen of medicine and therapy, wear a monitoring device around his ankle and keep away from the victim — a freshman girl whom he said he didn’t know. The plea deal was partly based on a determination that Crutcher had a previously undiagnosed mental illness, Collins said.

Because as we all know ankle monitors are foolproof. If he’s nuts he should be committed.
