More video game related thefts to bring to light today.
In the first, two men in masks rob a store of game consoles and accessories at gunpoint.
According to the article, they made off with multiple Playstation 3s and Xbox 360s, but the store isn’t sure about everything that was taken. They did, however, ignore the cash register.
Considering how many of these thefts there have been lately (multiple consoles being robbed directly from a store, sometimes at gunpoint, often by groups of thieves), perhaps the console giants should take a hint and not push their hardware on the public until they can produce (and consequently sell) it at a more reasonable price? I mean, come on, I’m sure there’s been Wiis stolen, but how much more often is it the PS3 or XBox 360? I know I’m not shelling out what they’re asking for it. Mind you I’m not blaming the industry for the thefts, but…
In the next story, one Samuel Brendlinger was arrested after breaking into a game store, then giving police a short chase. The article doesn’t mention any stolen items, and considering that they caught him trying to scale a wall, I suspect he was stopped before taking anything. Beware of clicking the link. The mug shot may give you nightmares.
Finally, we have Thomas J. Brunell III, a tow truck driver who stole a Playstation 3 and accessories from a car he towed. Unfortunately, this was insult to injury, because an 11-month old child was killed in the crash.
I suggest giving Mr. Brunell the option of avoiding his sentence by volunteering as a live crash test dummy.
