Palo Alto eighth-graders to be suspended for Columbine graffiti:
Five eighth-graders will be suspended from a Palo Alto middle school for allegedly defacing the building with spray-painted swastikas and references to the Columbine High School killings.
Police say they have identified five suspects in the vandalism at Jane Lathrop Stanford Middle School and are interviewing other students believed to be involved.
Police say the school has been cleaning up graffiti for six weeks but the references this weekend to Columbine set off alarm bells.
Investigators say the vandals were not serious about their threats of violence.
