An Omaha man is under arrest on suspicion of killing an unborn baby.
Police said Delayno Schackleford, 19, strangled and assaulted a woman who was eight months pregnant. Police said the alleged attack happened early Friday morning in an Omaha apartment.
Several hours later, the woman was taken by car to a Council Bluffs, Iowa, hospital after she complained of suffering severe pain in her midsection. She delivered a baby that was dead at birth.
An autopsy revealed the baby’s cause of death was severe blunt trauma to the head. Schackleford was booked on suspicion of domestic assault, strangulation and fetal homicide.
I’m at a loss for punishment other than the “Office Space fax machine” treatment. Any suggestions?
