Two boys held over online ‘hit list’:
(Log in info) This is a follow up to yesterday’s entry about the two kids who were being held for posting death threats on their blog…

A law enforcement source said the threats were posted through the Xanga Web site, an online service aimed at teens and young adults who can post online diaries, or blogs.

The boys allegedly made the threats in posts to the other students’ journals. The messages referred to the 1999 Columbine shootings and linked to photos of that incident.

In a profile apparently created by one of the boys, he described his interests as “death, grim reaper, online gaming,” his expertise as “guns and bombs” and his future job as a “hit man.”

One girl posted a Xanga message Monday in which she said she had asked one of the suspects’ friends why she and her friends had been targeted. “Cause you’re all popular and you have no idea what it’s like to be an outsider. … He is jealous of the attention you always get.”

Surprise, surprise, they were Harris and Klebold worshipping mutants.

Parents, like I said yesterday you have to monitor your kids internet activities. If you don’t know how to check up on what sites your kids have been visiting or what they’re doing on the internet then ask someone who does know how. It’s not that hard really. There’s even software you can get to monitor your kids’ activities. You can’t just let them run wild over the internet and not expect them to either be exposed to or involved this kind of behavior. C’mon parents, it’s time to get a clue.

As always it was your pleasure.
