Hit List Prompts Increased Security At High School:
A hitlist was found at Ottumwa High School in Iowa with the names of 13 students on it that the writer lists under “People to kill”. The note also says “All my life I was sad, now I will show the world who I am,” and “Be inconspicuous.” Parents of the students are taking this threat seriously and by the tone of the note I would too. Officials are investigating the legitimacy of the list and are trying to find it’s author. Extra police presence will continue at the high school until the case is closed. To kill people because not enough people know who you are has to be one of the most selfish things I have ever heard of in my life. When I was in school I was harassed so badly I wished that nobody knew who I was.
On a personal note I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many plots and threats discovered in such a short period of time. I guess in the wake of the Red Lake shootings we can officially and unfortunately declare the flood gates open. Remember when I used to write about other stuff besides school shootings? No, me neither.
